Official Q&A Thread for July 20th Blog Post

When can we expect to hear more about same-gender relationships with companions? The last we heard about this was at the Guild Summit back in March, and that was only confirmation that it was still in the works. Many people are still looking forward to this feature, and would like to know more. In particular, I would like to know if any current companions will be available for same-gender relationships. I would also like to know if having a companion character at a high or maximum affection level will cause problems with starting a relationship with that character.

I would love to know about the inclusion of Same Gender Romances. I know that RP and story are major focuses of this game, and I would love to have these options for my characters soon. If we could possibly get an estimate for this addition I know that a large percentage of the players would love to hear it. Edited by NRVNQSR

When will I be able to gamble or play casino games in Nar Shadda?

 

I see large and beautiful casino floors where I can talk to a few NPCS with regards to class/ planet quests. It seems like such a wonderful place to enhance the in-game community and give a more immersive experience into the shady underworld of Nar Shadda!

Is there anyway that we can get the Companion's unique armor in maybe an orange shell? Our companions have some really cool looking armor that is unique to them and I would love to be able to deck them out in that armor. Plus, it seems that you can never get a full set of it, anyway to fix that?

Ok, for the fourth time guys:

 

There are a lot of clipping issues with social gear and such that are very disconcerting and nearly ruin the clothing. For example, the back of the neck of the elegant top clips through the neck and the bottom of the Voss top clips front and back when you wear it with pants.

 

Do you have nay plans to fix these clipping issues?

I've read that announcements were made in early 2012 which stated that same-gender romance options would be implemented in the game, or at the very least properly announced within this same year, yet nothing substantial has been heard about this staple of BioWare roleplaying freedom since launch - when can be expect some more detailed info about SGR content?

Big picture question: (within reason and allowing that you're rather over-worked) can SWTOR (i.e. your extension / development of the Hero Engine.. do you even call it the Hero Engine anymore?) in the future support things like physics effects - say for example variations in gravity or perhaps even environmental effects?

 

(... and perhaps by extension, more realistically varied and 'hostile' worlds that spacefaring civilisations would invariably inhabit / visit).

 

Talent trees and Roles are weary dinosaurs of the game industry, is BW giving any (serious) thought to alternatives?

(... which somewhat leads into my next question.. hint hint..)

 

Despite their infamous nature, does BW look forward to one day incorporating stances (not necessarily stance-dancing) or at least more dynamic components of some kind into the game?

 

 

Is there any chance of Parkour style animations for our characters in the future (yes, anything's possible 'in the future'); the existing tumble is a great touch but I'd love to see our characters be more athletic (as I dare suggest they're frequently portrayed in various sources).

When can we expect GTN with ALL options working ("usable by me", level filtering for those items that are level 1 but require higher level for using them, items are darkened when you really can't use them and not almost every time, ...)? in short ... GTN that was not made by 5 a year old.

Is there still going to be a Mac version of the game? I had read that it was a idea to have it come out after a while, so what me and a lot of other people were wondering is, is it still a idea and will we be seeing TOR on a mac? i know a lot of mac users want to see one come out and not have to play on a windows version only. even tho they can bootcamp it but that's really not the ideal way to have to play this game. I myself am playing on my laptop because that's the only windows that i have and playing on a laptop isn't really the best way to be playing games unless it's built for that reason.

Greetings swtor! Will u add more slots than eight? I've got eight characters and need more like 3+ slots. It's very important for me, I want to try smuggler and trooper story, also to make a sniper. When U will add more slots per account? Thank you.

BW says that damage transfered by Tank guard ability can be mitigated by amor/shield/defense but tests on Outlaws Den shows it doesn't and that on top of this debuff are also transfered. Is this working as intented ?

Most of the PVP Tank geared player have the feeling that Tank gear have less overall value than DPS gear due to the fact that many (too much ?) powers bypass basic mitigation mechanisms, that damage transfered by guard ignore them as well and that the difference in HP is not that significant. Do you understand that feeling from the Tank community and what do you plan for Tank in PvP to give Tank gear more value ?

Any chance of getting some answers about the same-gender romances? We were waiting for it at Comic Con, but you guys let us down again.

When talking about up-coming features do you define a "year" as being "January to December", "a twelve-month period starting at some arbitrary date" or do you follow a different financial/tax years?

Currently there's no way to distinguish whether a mission given by an NPC is either a normal one or a heroic until after obtaining it. Could there be a much simpler way to help players keep track of heroics? There could be a blue icon above an NPC which denotes a heroic and even better, a green one for previously completed ones.

As is obviously the case, when a particular weeks Q&A is complete, there are many questions that remain unanswered. When a new Q&A is being worked on, do you consider these unanswered questions or do the questions have to be re-asked in each new weekly thread?
