Remove the rakghoul plague now

Recommended Posts

I'm actually finding the Plague a really pain in warzones, i bought the vaccine so i wouldn't have to worried about it, but it doesn't persist through death, every time i die I would have to reapply the vaccine to stay immune, which just isn't something I'm going to do or should have to do. It's a real pain in warzones being CC'ed by the plague for a bit or even dieing without taking a hit. I can bare with it till the event is over, but bioware please plan things through next time, if there is a vaccine it should persist through death.

it can be a bit of a pain, but do keep in mind (this is the silver lining in the clouds as it were), is that everyone in the warzone is subject to this, so you are all on a level playing field when it comes to the plague.

Also be sure to take video and screenshots when someone undercuts your price on the GTN, and report that as griefing. And definitely report griefing when someone takes a quest mob or node you wanted. I'm sure they'll get right on that.

Have yet to use the GTN, thoiugh I just discovered that is where to find Class 6 Ship Gear; may try it after the Plague is over. Thanks for the tips!

Make sure you get every single person who is infected on the fleet. Also, take screenshots to show their infection. This is clearly a huge problem that is mentally damaging people.

Obviously; the Green Gooey Griefers are everywhere. :D

Truer words have never been said.

Many pages back, someone pointed out that he'd barely be exposed to the plague if he was out questing, but it's obvious that he is just idling in the fleet while alt-tabbing and posting here.

Clearly. It's what I've been saying for the past few days. If you're out playing normally, then you have nothing to really worry about. Tatooine is risky, sure.. not nearly as risky if you stay away from the "hotspots". The fleet, definitely affected, but it isn't hard to avoid it all simply by continuing on.

Want to PvP? Great, queue away from the fleet. Want to spend your commendations? Cool, go in, spend 'em, get out, re-queue.

The only slightly annoying parts are the minor delays in transitioning to each phase of sickness and popping at inopportune times.

Dailies are kinda fun, kinda tedious, but I don't see a reason to throw the while world quest into the rubbish bin. At least not yet ;)

/facepalm

Seriously, Elhanan, if your panties are SO in a twist about A ZOMBIE EVENT IN A VIDEO GAME then you obviously will never be pleased. You should probably just unsub, you'd make everyone here happy and you'd probably be happier too.:t_rolleyes:

How touching!

As a matter of fact, have been out questing on Drummond Kass, and did not have any problems until I returned to the city. And there it is: would be Griefers hanging about the market and Trainers on the Capitol World seeking out victims.

Thanks to tips in this very thread, I actually saw the visuals of the odorous haze come off of the first; they messed up by getting too close, and heard the beginning retching sounds emitting from the second, so I left to steal my ship. And now plan to stay in quarantine until post-Event; am playing my third Alt now until then.

And don't mind me, as I certainly will Ignore you as well.

I am so glad that everyone sees this for what it is. I am tired of seeing the same absurd claim that people are griefing followed by absolutely no response when people ask what possible proof exists of people's intent.

I don't know how anyone can be allowed to continue to post in such a way that they add nothing to the discussion except unfounded accusations and the constant pretense that they are somehow a victim because other people are enjoying the game.

Pls do not feel hurt by my lack of response; just so many folks here are on Ignore that to open each one and see what baited perfection awaits would take forever. Like this one for instance.

Be well, if you can.

The only nay-sayer in this thread at this point stands on a "i'ma report u 4 playing1"

There's no discussion here as there's pretty much nothing being heard by either side, the nay-sayer deciding it best to not listen to a anything here aside from "look for particle effect", and the other side because our nay-sayer refuses to defend his position outside of what appears to be a demand for a singleplayer game.

Considering it has exceeded 1000 posts three times and been reopened so that this is the fourth iteration of the thread, I'm nothing but amazed...

well, you've got a perfect storm of events coming together. You've go a hugely popular event in which a vast majority are having fun, you've got a very tiny minority of obsessed opponents who've taken on the crusade, you've got an inflammatory thread title that riles up, with utter incredulity, the aforementioned pleased players, and the minority respondents who are keen on using the rhetorical fallacy of appeals to emotion to rile everyone up further.

That's how you get four iterations, the making of molehill into a mountain.

I was thinking it might be to keep the miscreants all in one place happily slapping away at one and other and not dragging the fight all across the forums.

At least, that's what i would do. :)

For the most part on this Topic; stayed right here. I also mentioned my concerns of Griefing on the Official Sticky Thread, but have avoided posting on Griefing much on Player made threads.

As mentioned, this is a complaint thread, and while I do not know what the others will do, I have no plans to stop simply because those that do not like dissent wish to silence me. If you wish to avoid me, try those threads; as for me, staying put.

Be well!

Something I learned...back in the day, yep. :)

This has been a most interesting thread. I love seeing how people think and perceive and react. Plenty of fodder here for pondering.

People are fascinating!

How many times must this be said.

World events are supposed to be spontaneous, informing players that it's going to happen and allowing them to opt out defeats the purpose of a world event. It's simple, if you don't want to participate in the world event, don't got to Tatooine, if that's where your story quest is taking you, stay out the area in the Dune Sea's where the fighting happens. If you want to avoid the Rakghoul plague, by the vaccine, it costs 2,000 credits and lasts for I believe 5-6 hours.

I've no wish to avoid you, don't be such a victim. :) You amuse me, Elhanan. I think you're a fine example of someone who sticks to his guns, foolishly, but that's your call, not mine. Too, if I wished to avoid you, I could easily put you on /ignore but this is waaaaay too interesting for me to deprive myself.

I'll be glad when the 24th hits. Last night my wife and I were playing on Tatooine where our next story quests were and were literally chased around Anchorhead after getting off our ships by three people trying to infect our characters because they were screaming in general TWO NON INFECTED WITHOUT VACCINE and the only recourse we had was to find the cantina and log. I absolutely love a game that encourages griefing of this level on a pve server.

I truly hope the next time they do a world event it has absolutely no mechanism that encourages griefing and having your character be affected by something you choose not to participate in.

They just need to make some small changes so it. For a start you shouldn't be able to get on to the fleet at all while infected, or if you do you should be open to be killed by other players (as the announcement says to kill any infected). People just standing in 1 spot exploding on each other for hours for free tokens is just a broken mechanic, you should have to go out and earn them. Edited by NasherUK

I agree that it's most probably not what the devs intended BUT it has had a positive result. Many people are talking, getting to know one and other, grouping up and yes, sharing infections. It has increased socialising and that is something that many, many people were complaining needed to happen more often.

I've met more people since Sunday on Fleet that had the time to chat and interact than in all the months prior. And I think that is a VERY good thing.

And see...I think there are a lot of players like this who donot like the way the event was done which can disrupt the play of others to the extent it does. Many donot come to the forum and complain. But the hassle does exist and could have been easiliy avoided with the right design of the event.
