Which class is best at quickly taking down a target?

Scoundrel scrapper or Operative concealment

Not entirely convinced.

I'd agree that a Scoundrel/Operative can take down a target from 60% -> 0 very quickly.

But taking down a PvP-geared target from 100 -> 0 does take significantly longer.

For a full take-down, my vote would probably go to a Marauder/Sentinel. They have high damage and can pressure healers immensely with their 6 Sec. CD on kick.

What kick are you talking about?

I do think a Mara, 1v1 can take a target down rather quickly... Depends on what they are attacking and the player doing the attacking and their characters spec and the gear the 2 people have.

But the problem with this you are usually not doing 1v1 and the game is widely variable..

theirs a few i have a sent watchman spec that does great and it strange enough i tried out advanced proto bh and does pretty well to is what i try to do (optimal conditions sometimes sheet happens and you adapt)

1. start on with immolate then a few flame bursts to get his attention(and build on my flame thrower)

2. int the first heal and keep pressure on with uppercut retract blade, railshot(should have proc crit with the uppercut.

3. dart the next heal flame throw while stunned

4. int next heal (shortned cd on ap tree) flame burst explode dart

5. carbonite uppercut immolate.

their usually dead by then, gotten help, or outgear me enough for it not to have mattered anyway

With all cds? No doubt in my mind that pre 1.2 its Op/Scoundrel.

Did some tests with a op buddy, when he popped adrenals relics and double opened on my he killed my in 3 or 4 shots. Im a v80 Sent with 700 expertise.

This. Honestly anyone saying anything other than smuggler/op is dead wrong.

Now, in post 1.2 world, where there is no double tap, it's a LOT closer, but I'd still go with smuggler/op if they're willing to burn ALL of their energy to do it.

Powertech right now.

^ This from tanked healer perspective. Fastest.

Right now personally I find it hardest to circumvent Powertech fire burst sequence in warzone's. 2nd fastest would be Operative but the difference is significant. It could be a match-up thing cause Operatives are susceptible to snares if they don't get the job done within short span of the opener. With the current spec they run, many Powertech's have little issue getting back onto the healer.

Arsenal Mercenary is the only class I have to worry about in warzones. Fastest burst in the game. I basically use LoS to deal with them or die fast. Most players Republic side already know this and complain about them often.

Saying it's Ops/Scoundrels is ridiculous because their stun and special are on a long timer, you can't take an ability with a long cool down and give it so much consideration. Ops are hard to kill because of kolto probe but their dps is quiet weak while waiting for specials to refresh.

This is pretty much right on. Scoundrel have a big alpha and then....nothing.

Atm it's definitely a pyro powertech and its vanguard mirror spec. Operatives with all cooldowns up can come close, as can snipers and mercs in an open area where you can't los them, but a pyrotechs can't really be kited, and have the biggest potential burst in the game, although it's very RNGish. The nerf next patch won't really make that big of a difference. You don't need to spam railshots to get a big burst. Detonator+flame burst+railshot is easy 12k damage if everything crits, and that's just the beginning of their rotation.

Inf assassins also burst high (8k shocks, yay), and more reliably if the crit cooldown is up. They're just easier to get rid of than a powertech pyro. The healers I pvp with hate nothing more than a pyro powertech.

Operatives if they use the bug + all CDs.

pyro PTs otherwise.

Sniper + BM are ok but not in the discussion, even if the opposing player is retarded and doesn't kite or Los.

Rage Juggs can also drop you fast. Especially if they start full.

Rage/Focus Juggs/Guards can be easily neutralized. Stop them from Smash/Rage Bombing and they're worthless.

As many said before, Pyrotech Powertech/Assault Specialist Vanguard currently has the highest burst in-game and can take down a target like nobody else can.

My second vote would go to a skilled Sniper/Gunslinger.
