  1. Played TOR for 6 months, since its release. It grew dull to me, but now that it is f2p, I decided to give it another try. No side quick bars is just ridiculous, anyone saying it is just a 'convenience', obviously has no idea what they're talking about. You can never utilize your class to the fullest when you do not have acces to all of your abilities. I'm fine with it that they charge you for all sorts of ridiculousness, like having to pay to display a title, because it's a f2p model after all. However, when they're going to charge you for something as basic and essential as having full acces to your abilities, that is crossing the line between a good f2p model and a bad one. I am willing to pay for all the cosmetic crap, but not for something as quickbars... It's just absurd.

    Temper temper!

The chance that one player completely wrecks your team is quite small. Often it's just the entire composition, the lack of communication or when the other team is just plain better. I haven't seen a single time, when one player completely wrecked the otherwise godmade team. Also, swearing and raging at someone you think is bad isn't exactly going to make him improve. I don't know what age you came from, but today encouragement and good advice are often the things that help improve someone. The thread is about controlling your temper. It's not about the potential bad player in your team. It's about you. In essence, you're exactly doing here what you probaly also do in Warzones: shoving it on someone else.

    Temper temper!

Ya, you're completely missing his point. Read before you post. He said raging in chat whenever a Warzone turns out bad only makes you look like a complete and utter fool, and he's quite right about that. Winning is fun, of course, but from time to time you'll lose. That's inevitable, it's part of the game. So, if you lose all self-control when you face the less fun aspect of PvP and start raging at people, whether that is justified or not, means PvP isn't exactly something for you. Sure, you can be mad, and you should, but there's still something like courtesy, which means you don't have to spew all your hatred to your entire group or individual player. Control your temper, because you'll only look like a immature, self-centered idiot that thinks 'I-am-the-best-and-I-pawn-everyone'.
  4. That's the exact point of Kaliyo. She counters everything a (standard) Imperial Agent stands for. Therefore, it brings far more immersion to the story. If every companion would fit exactly to your main character, it'd be quite boring... So Bioware made for each class companions, so whatever character or mentality your character had, there'd be atleast one companion that completely opposes that. It brings far more flavour to the dish. All the Kaliyo hate only shows the lack of originality concerning the character's of Imperial Agents, knowing that she is there to counter the cliché Agent.

    Worst Story

That's why Smuggler is so epic. It's no Big Badda Boom, I'm the shiny hero on a white horse that comes charging in at the most perilous of times with such courage and honour. Vanquishing his/her foes, because no one equals me. I am eternal. Smuggler isn't. It's casual. It's simple. It's more realistic and innovating. I and many other people like it. Just because it's different. Not (that) cliché. So far I've finished Bounty Hunter, Imperial Agent and the Sith Warrior storyline (Currently playing my Smuggler). And if I can be honest I found the Sith Warrior one the worst (relatively). I would've found it one of the best, if not for the ending. Personally, I found the ending and I won't tell any spoilers, extremely dissatisfying. It just didn't make up to what I was expecting from it. That and that alone, which is kind of sad, ruined the entire storyline for me.
  6. And that's where you're wrong. There's an equal amount of douchebags all around the world. Age, honestly doesn't matter at all. I, for example have met far more disrespectful older people than younger ones. But, even yet you say that it isn't really their fault. Then why would you blame them? Or use it as an argument on a forum against someone that you suspect to be a younger person? *Edited a part away, didn't read the final part of your post properly, my mistake* This is my last post on the subject, as I am derailing from the actual topic a lot.
  7. Yep and the fact that you pull the 'Kids these days' card out of nowhere absolutely proves your own attitude. Just because someone posts a selfish comment, doesn't mean you can go on and push them in your self-created, generalized group of people you appear to disagree with. Because that's exactly what you are doing: discriminating people (based on age), although there was absolutely zero lead to do so. Therefore, the only thing you've managed to prove with your comment is your own tunnel vision. Think before you go on a rant.
  8. Very well written post and I agree for 101% with about anything. I hope Bioware definetely takes note of this as these features you've summed up would give TOR a huge boost and would make it far, far better of a game (atleast for me, that is). However, I do very well realise that it is idle hope to see any of these features and definetely not in the near future. As of right now, I am still enjoying the game thoroughly, playing every storyline doing a bit of end-game content here and there. But I know there is going to come an end to that and more quickly than in other MMOs.
  9. It would've worked in your favor to actually mention the fact that you are new to MMOs and its mechanics in your initial post. That way I and possible other people were aware that you were a beginner and I might've adapted my response appropiately. However, naming your thread 'Smuggler needs a buff.... Badly...' and then coming up with pretty much no valid argument and actually showing more or less that you have not that much of a clue what you're talking about, which is perfectly fine when you're a beginner, doesn't exactly give a positive impression of yourself. Therefore I assumed you were another whiney troll, thinking no fault is theirs and it's all because of someone/something else. That is the reason of the snarky tone. In the future I would recommend you to just search for guides, as there are plenty (instead of blatantly assuming you know everything and because it's not working out as you'd please, it is not working properly at all and ask for a buff) does give the wrong impression.
  10. This. Please do not buff nor nerf Sniper/Gunslinger. They are perfectly fine as they are, even prior to 1.2 They have good burst, not incredible, but good enough that you have to break LoS when a Sniper/Gunslinger is targetting you, where you immediately also exploit their greatest weakness.
  11. Seriously? Gunslinger/Sniper is exactly in the spot where it needs to be. It doesn't need a buff nor a nerf or it will completely ruin the AC. How can you even complain about a class that you only discovered for a rough 25%? You're complaining that you had troubles taking a lvl 13 Marauder down while you were level 20?... Sorry, but that seriously sounds like you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. All the classes get bolstered in the 10-49 bracket to level 50. The only difference why higher levels are better there is because they have acces to more of their abilities and have unlocked more of their class' potential. With 'higher', I'm referring to 40+. So yes... It is completely normal that you took some time killing that Marauder and I wouldn't even be to surprised if he managed to kill you. Sniper/Gunslinger dps is phenomenal and one of the best out there. Both on low level and high level. So if you're having trouble killing mobs and find that your dps is low, I have no clue to what you are comparing. So either you have a weird idea about the 'common' dps in this game or it would do you good to have another look at your class' basics as it looks like you don't really know how to play your Gunslinger.
  12. Marauders have their CDs, Snipers have to deal with LoS,... All classes seem to have their weak points that you can exploit. But I honestly fail to recognize those of a Pyro/Assault spec. Just go all in and get him down asap? If the other team has capable healers they'll manage to keep him up. So... go for the healers, right? Well, lets say each team has capable healers. One team has a Pyro however, where the other does not. The enemy team will get your healer down faster, because, well, as a healer one of the worst things that can happen to you (or any player really) is burst damage, which, Pyro/Assault, excels most at of all classes. They have the largest burst potential, overall, of all classes. But, such a massive advantage should come with a large disadvantage as well, right? Balance is balance. And then we're back at my primary point and where I fail to see your rhetoric. What is that great disadvantage, that Pyro/Assault has over other classes, that we can exploit? Just focus fire him? Well, that's the general counter, that works for any class. There is no specific weakness a Pyro/Assault has. And in my opinion he definetely, of all classes, should have it, looking at that insane burst potential.
  13. A Pyro is harder to take down than a Sorc/Sage. A Pyro is harder to take down than a Sniper/Gunslinger. Of course it all depends on overall skill but both of the classes I compared a Pyro to are, generally, far more squishy than a Pyro himself. And as you said before you need atleast 2 players to take down a Pyro. There is no, if the Pyro knows what he's doing, other way to kill him or neutralize his role. In a balanced PvP System, any dps could win from any dps, all depending on the situation and skill of course. This rarely is the case with a Pyro/Assault.
  14. Unless you can actually come up with a proper argument, as is most of the time the entire point in a mature discussion any of your posts are completely invalid and you're only losing your own credibility by posting them.
  15. I agree with all the people saying that it is ridiculous to cry nerf whenever you got owned, but seriously. No player, no matter how good I've seen doing what a (average-good) Pyro/Assault Spec can do. Their burst is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous and the fact is they have no real 'downsides'. Decent CC (Grapple/Harpoon, by far one of the most devastating skills if used correctly in PvP) and while they do not excel in defensive abilities, they still have a couple and they benefit from the tanking tree that's partially woven in into the entire AC a bit. For those having their doubts or haven't really faced a decent Pyro/Assault yet, here's your proof: http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCpCE2qKnYI Please note that this is a compilation, meaning these insane numbers happened when his potential was pretty much maxed out. Nonetheless, there is no other class that can manage to do something similiar. And there is completely no factor that weighs up against this potential. Your opinion may differ, but to me this is definetely unbalanced and this needs a nerf in some kind of way. Whether that would be their dps, survivability or overall utility is the same to me. They do have to lack something however to make up for this insane potential.
