  1. This. Loved the PvP overall before the patch (though there could've been a little less CC or a better counter to it like DR's). Ended up unusbbing today. It's disappointing.
  2. I never really understood the whole "Unsubbed!" thread thing. But unfortunately, now I do. And as far as why post about it, another gentleman put it very well earlier in the thread. It's more about a kind of sadness of not having fun with a game you enjoyed at one point, and hoping it gets better. Giving some feedback would hopefully go a long way with that. I just unsubbed myself, though before this patch I was loving the game (with only a few issues which I could deal with. Most were supposed to be addressed in 1.2). - I don't really like the direction the game is going with PvP. DPS races aren't fun, and it seems like that's the way they're taking the game. - I HATE being forced to do PvE dailies. I don't want to grind the same mobs every day in order to make my money. I thought PvP offered a perfectly reasonable amount of credits. I wasn't doing great, but I was getting by. I could toss an alt a couple hundred grand now and then if needed, and I could re-spec. Now, PvP isn't a reliable way to make any real amount of credits. Horribly disappointing. - I'm not sure BioWare really knows what they want each class to "be". Example: Operatives/Scoundrels should have higher burst capabilities than Pyrotech PT's. Why? Well, a smaller armor value and the disadvantage of having to be in melee range and sometimes behind the target in order to do their damage. Yet, it seems as though Pyrotechs can have higher burst, AND higher consistent damage. It just seems off to me. (No, I don't currently, nor ever had, an Op as my main) - Too much CC isn't fun. It was nice allowing each class to have some kind of CC, but I think they went too far with it. Especially for not having that great of a counter (resolve). Diminishing Returns would've been a much more appropriate system for the vast amount of CC they have I think. Heck, any system other than resolve. - Still no server transfers. There were too many servers, and now so many are slowly dying if not already dead. And there's still no transfers. It sucks being one of a very small number of people on in your faction, and having other population related issues simply because you and your guild didn't pick the lucky server. - Absolutely horrible communication between BioWare and their customers doesn't help either. There seemed to be a ton of stuff in this patch that wasn't really announced. And worse, when they decide a previously stated feature wouldn't be in the patch, we got either almost no notice, or none at all. One day ahead of time they tell us no Rated Warzones? And we find out we're missing some of the more exciting Legacy pieces through opening up the Legacy tab and seeing "Coming soon! More experience while leveling... hopefully before 1.3!". A weekly Q&A does not constitute as good communication. Giving us RELIABLE information is huge. It seems like every step of the way BioWare shoots itself in the foot by taking things they said back, falling short on promises, and constantly bumping feature release dates back. There are other reasons why the game lost its appeal to me, but I won't list all of them. These are just some of the big ones. For those who still enjoy the game and like 1.2, I'm happy for you. And I hope you keep enjoying the game. Unfortunately for me, it just hasn't shaped up to be the game I had hoped for.
  3. It paints an ugly picture, practically saying "Don't bother trying to level through PvP unless you're 48+." Sure, low levels can be helpful in warzones. But they simply can not compete with a decently geared high level alt, unless the higher level is awful (or the lower level manages to get all blues and a few epics). So let's say an overall high level team beats a team with an overall lower level. Normally, not a big deal, it's expected to lose now and then. But at least you can say one thing: You'll level soon, allowing access to more gear and abilities so you can help your team more. Now what happens? If you lose you don't get much progress toward a level, and you don't get credits so you couldn't even afford new abilities should you happen to ding, let alone new gear. Unless you have a rich main to feed you cash. But now that may not even happen since the 50 bracket is the same way. Even if you PvP all day, you might not end up with much at all to show for it. I don't see how it's beneficial at all. Sure, it's nice to actually have a difference between winning and losing. But really? Let's make it so the losers get almost NO progress toward anything that might help their team win in the future? Bad system.
  4. Yeah, Agent gear looks awful. They tried to make it an Agent/BH hybrid, which is awful. I just want a nice slick suit, nothing fancy. Warrior gear is horrible as well. It's like BioWare regrets not putting in a "Shoulders" slot, and so they have to make up for it by putting in large, bulky, awkward shoulder extensions on the gear. They need to realize that no one really wants to be a robo-ninja-samaurai from space. Modesty in the gear would go a long way.

    Ravage

100% armor penetration is 100% armor penetration. You're not any more gimped against us than someone wearing Super Duper Kevlar Heavy Armor. We bypass 100% of it for 6 seconds regardless. Carnage in 1.2 is essentially a melee version of the Pyrotech build for PT's. And our Ravage buff can be justified for having to be on the front lines to use it while getting pelted by the ranged classes. No self healing, no knock back, no hard stun, one gap closer with a min distance requirement (2 if you count Force Camo). There's a reason the Carnage tree puts out ridiculous burst now - it's pretty much the purest form of a dps spec in the game, along with Pyrotech for PT's.

    Ravage

With the 100% armor bypass... you still couldn't come close to 10k with Ravage alone. Maybe with original 1.0 buff stacking and perfect itemization you could get within like 3k of that... But alas, you can't do that anymore. Nice false info though.

    Ravage

My favorite is Gore -> Massacre -> Ravage -> Force Scream But I'm cool with it the way it is. It was a piss poor ability when interuptable. The only thing people could really complain about is the Carnage tree also rooting the target for the duration. But hey, just knockback and you're good. Now people just have to save one of their usually spammed cc abilities. It's fine the way it is.
  8. And for people to adjust their playstyle and possibly gearing for new talent trees and class changes. OP makes it sound like every change would be 100% realized from the first warzone, rather than taking time to see exactly how things play out once everyone really figures out their "new" class.
  9. Sounds more just like a bad Marauder. Or one who got caught with both Obfuscate and Force Camo on cd. I know my beating snipers relies heavily on Force Camo at least. Force Choke is also a big deal when going against snipers. I haven't had a chance to go against any amazing snipers/'slingers on my server, but the win seems to be cd dependent. And I'm a pretty dang good Marauder if I say so myself.
  10. So you leveled to 50 from just PvP. And somehow, didn't manage to save yourself 1k merc and warzone comms after buying a champ bag before you dinged 50? Before I entered my first level 50 warzone I had a little over 5% expertise. After completing my dailies and weeklies that day, I had just under 8%. And I prepared. I put epic level 49 mods in my gear, so I had a mix of Cent/Champ gear and some really nice PvE gear. Turns out I actually hit harder with the correct gearing that way than I do in full Champ/BM gear. Maybe if you actually came into things with a positive outlook you would have a better experience. Try not to kill GW2 in your own head with problems that don't really exist.
  11. This. Want to have a real laugh? Take any dps class of your choice and level them to 49. Then, put epic level 49 mods/enhancements/armorings and weapon mods in every slot. It'll cost you a lot of dough, but holy cow, will you be laughing until you ding 50. Did this with a Marauder once, but only got about 5 pieces full decked in 49 epics. I was killing Sages in 4 globals, through their bubbles. Even lower level ones who had higher mitigations than they should have due to bolsters. Edit:After 3 capping in Civil War, it took a wave of 5 enemies after 3 consecutive 2v1's with no time to regain health to kill me. It's a joke. If someone doesn't believe me, I beg you to try it on your alt. It will make you laugh at every "Please let us stop exp gain from wz's" post, and every "1-49 isn't about gear, but 50 is 100% gear based" thread.
  12. You said that in reference to putting up a video earlier in this thread. I assumed you meant a slew of videos showing you being stunned with already having full resolve, but then dumped all the vids. That's why I'm so skeptical. You said you collected all these videos, assumingly because you wanted to share this bug. Yet you deleted them before putting them onto any kind of forum or video uploading website, despite have taking the time to capture them in the first place. I understand it takes time and effort to get a video of it happening. But you were all for it before (and supposedly had the proof before you deleted it), and now you say you're not going to waste your time spending countless hours at a decreased performance rate hoping to catch it? Even if we don't see eye to eye, you have to understand why I'm skeptical.
  13. I'm not familiar with Scoundrel abilities, and it sounds like that's what you're talking about since Op's moves are knife based rather than gun based. Give me a few minutes and I'll pull out some ability references for you to see in an edit of this post. EDIT: Sounds like this is the move you're referring to: "Blaster Whip" http://www.torhead.com/ability/1olcBs5/blaster-whip This grants them a stack of "Upper Hand", as does their opener called "Shoot First". The stacks of Upper Hand can be used to activate another ability called "Sucker Punch", which does roughly 1k damage from the tooltip. This is the ability that can be used twice in a row, since you're allowed up to 2 stacks of Upper Hand. There is a talent that allows you a chance at having the Upper Hand to not be consumed by Sucker Punch once every so many seconds, so you could use it 3 times on one target in a row if you got the correct procs.
  14. I couldn't take anything you said seriously after I saw this. "like 4 or 5 times with that stupid move that does too much damage". I can see that you've never even attempted to understand how Ops work. Ever. Not even asked. NONE of their highest damage moves can be used that many times. Only one can be used up to twice in a row on the same target. Their initial stun is 1.5 seconds. That's 1 ability they can use after opening due to the global cooldown. If they stun you again, they can only use 3 more max before the stun is over, because it's a 4 second stun. Please, roll an Op/Scoundrel and make an attempt to understand what's happening before you come to the forums with claims instead of questions.
  15. I find it interesting that, because it's happened to you 8-10 times, you'll take so much time on the forums to try and convince people it's a real problem. Yet, you haven't spent time collecting videos to post as hard proof. Please, do yourself a favor and stop posting "Omg guys please believe me!", and get a video of it happening to you. If it's happened 8-10 times in the fairly short v65 grind, I'm sure you'll claim it will happen again soon. Next time, please have fraps running. Until then, I can reassure you that you will sway absolutely no one to your cause, except for people who have 0 understanding of the resolve bar and use their CC break on the first stun.
  16. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make... and I'm not sure if we're in violent agreement or not? All I was saying is that with the other team having to respawn that much, they were always clearly at a numbers disadvantage. So there's no excuse why a whole team couldn't CC 4-6 people, heck even less if they're "trickling". The CC break is on a much longer CD than any stun/mezz, which most classes have access to more than one of these.
  17. Because only dps classes have CC. Oh wait. That's not true. Now that I remember that every single class has some form of CC, I wonder why any of the 7 people who weren't capping didn't press 1 button... maybe 2 to buy 8 seconds worth of time. You can cap in front of 5 people if your team uses cc effectively and doesn't just aoe the pack to break mezzes. Trickling and the number of dps (unless it's 0) has nothing to do with it. Horrible lack of teamwork does.
  18. I've wondered about this myself. Would be nice to get a logical answer. EDIT: Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's not caused by an offensive ability. Self healing lightning is offensive, and counts as healing. The healing received from dot crits on Sentinels if offensive, and counts. As far as I know, Endure Pain (a 30% "self heal" for Juggernauts) doesn't count for healing, and is not attached to an offensive ability. Same goes for Vanguard's Adrenaline Rush.
  19. This. What I'm assuming is a classic case of "Omg my deeps are going to be so pro! I hope someone else caps this door because I'm too busy trying to break personal records here so I can look so awesome." Except in this case, everybody on that team had that mentality, and decided that trying to cap or CC anybody was a waste of dps/protection/hps time.
  20. I don't believe people when they say they got legitimately stunned, pulled, knocked back, mezzed, choked, knocked down, or pushed with 100% full and white or wearing off resolve. I've never seen it happen to anybody, and I've never experienced it. I've been rooted 3-4 times until my resolve wore off completely, then got stunned. But never have I had anything happen to me that shouldn't have while my resolve was full or coming down. And to the dude who is claiming that no-one can provide proof of "resolve working as intended", that's because it's technically impossible. If there is an argument saying that .0000001% of the time resolve isn't working as intended, then we would have to show an infinite number of instances of resolve working. And in which case, we still couldn't prove it because there's supposedly that chance. So in the mean time, the challenge is to get video proof of resolve not working as intended, which not a single person has been able to provide (yet somehow always "just cleaned my computer of vids" or "just got a new computer so my vid is gone"). I'm not saying resolve is the best system around. I'm not saying it can't or shouldn't be improved. But I'm saying to stop making ridiculous claims if you can't actually back it up. If someone provides a video of it, then awesome, it'll be on the list of things to fix. But until it can be proven, I doubt anyone here will give a toot, let alone BioWare.
  21. Wonder if it could have been a different form of the whole "my cast bar disappeared" thing. Except, the enemy cast bar disappears so you can't see what their doing. Could just be a simple unintentional bug not caused by anything the player was doing. But we'll have to wait and see more instances of this first I suppose.
  22. I appreciate the argument you tried to make. But "long dps rotations"? C'mon man. Let's be honest, not a single dps class in this game relies on any more than 5... maybe 6 buttons at MOST to deal 75%+ of their damage. Everything else is just filler while you wait for your main stuff to come off cooldown. Let's take the Marauder for instance. The class which most people (wrongly) say has a higher learning curve than other classes, and has a damage ramp up time. This is what a Marauder does to pump out a HUGE majority of their damage: Deadly Sabers -> Rupture -> Annihilate Everything else a Marauder presses either interrupts a cast, or prevents damage to themselves. Incredibly simple. EDIT: I forgot to mention we might Ravage if it's off cooldown, and will toss out a Vicious Throw when we get our target to less than 20% health. Still, both of those are just fillers really. Same deal with tanks. Sure, we can press one button and put ourselves on follow to achieve most of our goal. But if we're not dps'ing, CC'ing, or interrupting, then we're not being as effective as we could. It's fine if you say that dps aren't all just face-rollers, but please don't try to say that any role in this game is more or less complicated than another. Each has it's own stresses to worry about, and incredibly enough a fairly equal amount of things to do.
  23. He's talking about their interrupt being 6 seconds when talented into.
  24. Actually, you said, "Do 3-6k per hit (if you don't suck)". You didn't answer his question about your completely false claims.
  25. I'd say it's about the same amount of time it takes for the masses to switch which class they complain about being OP. Seems to be working out for most people. The waves of "This class is super OP so I'm going to make one" rerollers have been doing it quite nicely. But I guess they do tend to quit that character before they hit 50 because they can't push 1 button and 2 shot everybody like they had been complaining about.
