I just want to put it down for the record that the way this early access program has been implemented is truly one of the most poorly conceived ideas that I've ever personally encountered in over 25 years of playing video games. I've personally participated in launches of 6 other MMO games, and there is nothing in those experiences that compares to how ridiculous this process is.

When you are dealing with a pre-launch even that is only for pre-order customers, after an extensive and massive beta testing period that was a huge success according to nearly all sources involved - it begs the huge question as to what is the limiting factor in the way you have chosen to roll out this game. I personally participated in the beta in a very limited way (not by choice, mind you, I just wasn't lucky enough to get a key) and was only online during the big Thanksgiving weekend test. That test was wonderful - there were a huge number of servers, and a huge population of testers. The game performance was amazing.

So, EA/BW - what exactly are you afraid of?

The ONLY way this should have been done is to have given ALL pre-orders (perhaps separated only by level of game purchased - i.e. CE customers get 7 days, SE get 5, e.g.) access at exactly the same time. Of course it will overload the servers and queues would ensue and all that - but that's what we all expect. Making your customers wait unknowingly with no idea how long it will be or when to expect an email is just adding insult to injury. A poor alternative would have been to send out emails with a set time and day that your access would be available.

I read in the top post how you are monitoring the server performance and are rolling waves based on server performance. Are you seriously saying you have to wonder at this point if your servers can perform up to the task - when you probably still have 90% of the launch day players yet to even be able to play? That is not at all a good message to be sending at the beginning of an MMO franchise.

At any rate, I love this game. I love BW. But I truly despise and am sickened by the way you chose to put your customers through so much stress for absolutely no good or justifiable reason.

I truly hope you improve, because this is a very very poor way to start out.

no offense but a lot more people where on during beta stress test and was perfectly fine , and from what i am hearing from guildies and friends there is like barely then 80 people on the starting zones .

A bunch of us where talking and think bw is being way to carefull and should have launched more waves or the waves they have launched should have been a bit bigger.

Besides that i am looking forward to getting in pre launch and playing :)

Yea I hear ya, I was on first thing in the morning during the Nov stress test and everything was running just fine, (flashes back to hundreds of mini jedi knights and consulars)

I think the best way to stagger release, would have been to do it according to which version of the game you preordered. I myself didn't bother to buy the Collector's Edition but I believe by paying more money those should be entitled to the game first.

Can't post a pic, but I'm done. I actually feel good and free now.

Hope you guys enjoy your game, I'm done hoping bioware would do right by its customers, all of them not just a select few. No matter how many posts this thread has bioware doesn't care, they pretty much think you'll all pay regardless of how you're treated, to bad they're probably right as enough people won't cancel to make them go "Damn, that was a bad idea".

Im fine standing alone, I'm happier knowing I stood by what I believe is right and wouldn't just accept this kind of treatement. Hell I probably saved myself a ton of time and money, I would have played this game for at least two or three years, plus expansions.

Dear <>,

Your order has been successfully canceled. For your reference, here's a summary of your order:

You just canceled order #102-8794931-##### placed on September 1, 2011.

Status: CANCELED

wow ok do you agree with this or not? I think its a good idea so they DON'T overload the surver numnuts. If the survers overload it means that they have to shut down ALL of the survers to find the *********** problem. I really hate it when people like you say things like this. THINK BEFORE YOU SAY SOMETHING STUPID!!!! I do it every day then say something stupid anyways. just to mess with people.

So exactly WHAT was all that stress testing and PURPOSELY THROTTLING SERVER LOG IN TO TEST QUEUES for then?

An experiment into how much they can make people rage?

Word of mouth is a POWERFUL advertising tool, and they haven't even finished July.

Imagine what that percentage of those who didn't get in (I didn't, I don't care, I registered late and have other games to play) are now tweeting, facebooking, blogging, texting and calling their friends to express their anger at what is arguably the most inane access plan ever conceived?

Couple that with BW's vague statements and not telling people BEFOREHAND even a rough estimate, I mean if you can tell us when we would get in and what time during the weekend betas and final beta a week beforehand you could tell us now.

They just fear any negative opinion this close to launch, it's a "playing the cards close to the vest" tactic that is actually doing the reverse if they want positive opinion.

Gamers are prone to rage, well most of them, one only has to look at the DCUO F2P week distaster, or Aion's open beta disaster, or any of the wow after big expansions disasters to see how fast negative opinion can spread before they can spin it.

I'm neither here nor there as to getting in today (redeemed on 8/17), but I've been watching some live streams of people playing, and the areas look dead. The people in game also believe that more people should have been let in today.

I'm not saying anything stupid ... I'm a network admin by trade, I manage over 500 servers... I know all about traffic, server load, etc... far more than you do; I guarantee it.

T-Day weekend everything was stress tested... it worked fine. There is no reason to do what they're doing. Additionally if you've read any of my threads you'd know that all I'm asking for is a date when I'll be allowed access (the definitive first day of access for me).

Every other game in history has been able to tell their customers this... BW should be able to as well.

Now go **** yourself.

You're definitive first day of access 12/20.

All of you people complaining about not getting acess make me laugh. I preordered and registered on 7/21. No invite yet. And ya know what. I'm not uber worried about it. Why? Because it' beautiful outside and there even fun things to do. So why not try it instead of complaining that they ripped you off?

If there are 3,000,000 preorders as I have seen some people say, then BW / EA (whoever) needs to be sending out 428,572 (rounded up) E-mail Invites per day JUST to handle the preorders.

If, however, the number is really closer to 1,000,000 as I have suspected, BW / EA needs to send out a total of 142,857 (Rounded down) E-mail invites JUST to meet their minimum requirements.

Just Sayin.

nop it is over 3 mil per orders this game have the highest per order ever
