  1. BW, Lucasarts and EA, you've all done a great job. I have to retract my initial EGA claim of a fail. The reason why i went for fail the 1st time is just because we had no information, at least something like what batches/pre-order dates were distributed would have been good at that time. Being on the server, i completely understand why you did the waves thing -> it resulted in a perfect launch So BW, Lucasarts and EA, thx for the invites, thx for the A+ game (compared to some ****** MMO out there now) and thx for the perfect LAUNCH.
  2. sorry, seems i'm in now, disregard last post. sorry for people that have to wait, hated it as well
  3. A for Game F for launch, i rather sit in a qeue and know my estimated time of entry than knowing nothing at all.
  4. So, they've gotten 2 mill on the last beta's? For months i see them shining and showing off at conventions. Did they put a limit on pre-orders? With a lot of pooah announce early access on 15th, then 13th? I would have put up a lot more servers and ALL pre-orders get to play same day, afterwards merge servers. Yes, maybe it would cost a lot more to set this up but you would have a fair and unbiased entry to early access. For a business model or PR stunt that would count. Hope they are better at parenting, cause giving 1 child a candy and 4 others not is asking for a small cry lake Bottom line, i dont mind to wait (yes, i do ) but i would have done EGA differently, all or none, thats my 2 bit.
  5. It is about courtesy, it is not about people having to wait just for the wait without informing them on any possible timings. Lets suppose you and me have a meeting. Would you like it if i inform you upfront i can/cant attend or would you like to wait for hours, days without knowing anything if the meeting is going thru or not? Thats the whole point. Cause if you dont agree, i hope you will be a customer of me 1 day, i will let you take a seat and tell you upfront that i MIGHT help you or not the next few days. Trust me, the place would be trashed in no times.
  6. Imo, BW dropped the ball on this EGA thing, the massive complaints are the proof. Secondly, it is an unfair system to handle. Why not allow people who registered 1st at BW site get in 1st? Some people registered years ago but bought game later... You see where this is going? Not? Lets suppose you are a parent with 5 children. Are you giving 1 a candy and the rest not? Such decisions are unfair and bias, i for sure wont handle such decisions. All or none, thats my motto. "The real just person would agree with the person who is right, not with his best friend."

I've personally participated in launches of 6 other MMO games, and there is nothing in those experiences that compares to how ridiculous this process is. When you are dealing with a pre-launch even that is only for pre-order customers, after an extensive and massive beta testing period that was a huge success according to nearly all sources involved - it begs the huge question as to what is the limiting factor in the way you have chosen to roll out this game. I personally participated in the beta in a very limited way (not by choice, mind you, I just wasn't lucky enough to get a key) and was only online during the big Thanksgiving weekend test. That test was wonderful - there were a huge number of servers, and a huge population of testers. The game performance was amazing. So, EA/BW - what exactly are you afraid of? COPY AND PASTE! The ONLY way this should have been done is to have given ALL pre-orders (perhaps separated only by level of game purchased - i.e. CE customers get 7 days, SE get 5, e.g.) access at exactly the same time. Of course it will overload the servers and queues would ensue and all that - but that's what we all expect. Making your customers wait unknowingly with no idea how long it will be or when to expect an email is just adding insult to injury. A poor alternative would have been to send out emails with a set time and day that your access would be available. I read in the top post how you are monitoring the server performance and are rolling waves based on server performance. Are you seriously saying you have to wonder at this point if your servers can perform up to the task - when you probably still have 90% of the launch day players yet to even be able to play? That is not at all a good message to be sending at the beginning of an MMO franchise. At any rate, I love this game. I love BW. But I truly despise and am sickened by the way you chose to put your customers through so much stress for absolutely no good or justifiable reason. I truly hope you improve, because this is a very very poor way to start out. Signed
  10. Well, if they are not ready for it in Early Access, they will surely not be ready for 20th. Now is a good time to test Posters here that defend BW or use the whiners excuse, should know that to inform a person AHEAD is ALWAYS better than informing them on the spot. (if it is possible to warn ahead in the 1st place) In BW case, they just should have send out time frames to people like they kind of did with beta, and not have people looking at their screens for hours. Just a matter of planning and courtesy
  11. Completely agree, it's ALWAYS better to inform people ahead, be it in work or private hemisphere.
  12. It is not about busy life or not, its about informing people ahead is always better than not. They used the principles at beta so why not for early access????
  13. Warn people ahead of their personal early access timings (like the beta's, doh). Sorry, i dont like this mail at day system at all, complete BS. People could make plans accordingly, so its not about "i have to get in now" but like the beta's were people were informed AHEAD of the timings/access.
