I agree with you on the one hand. Its a pain to wade through a bunch of trash mobs. I have complained about this before (re: Taris Rahkghouls). This does have some merrit though. After much trial and error, wading through mobs, has taught me how to manage my aggro radius. It IS possilbe to avoid the packs of mobs if you are really careful and don't blindly go charging "down the path".

TBH and IMO, it would be more fun to have more "dynamic" and wandering mobs rather than static packs. I would rather have to be looking over my shoulder to get "jumped by patrols" or " wandering packs" than just see a bunch of static mobs always respawning in the exact same place.

Trooper is my favorite class, I play both Vanguard and Commando. They both kick *** in the fun department.

I know, right? With my Vanguard especially because I can use groups out in the world to practice my tanking. I may stick Grande one, Storm another, grapple his buddy shooting me from afar, Ion Cannon if I have them grouped well and then go to town smacking them with the butt of my gun.

Honestly, I love the combat in this game. I avoid groups at times as well, but I never think "Man, having to take out these mobs is boring!". If you do think that, you may be playing the wrong class for your tastes.

Are there any puzzles in this game like KOTOR had? I am level 45 BH and have not seen anything yet. There are other things they can put in our way besides infinite mobs to kill on the way to a mission goal.

nope, no puzzles, and I'm done with the class quests.

On every planet, kill X mobs, click X container/panel/...

Think about it.

If the Empire and Republic had no armies, it would be weird.

If a planet had no fauna, it would be weird.

That's why there's mobs.

If mobs suddenly reappeared in front of you, it would be weird.

If mobs 40m away didn't hear their comrades being slaughtered by gunfire, it would be weird.

if you are tired of mobs...

you could go for a podrace, or pazaak or some space mining missions, join an epic PvP spacebattle, watch Huttball live TV in your ship, go for a race on Endor through the woods, play in the casino, learn to perform in the cantina, or go build a house on tattooine and watch the suns set... whoops, all not possible, too bad.

In that case, wait for update 4.0 ;)

Translation:

I love SWTOR for the Star Wars appeal, and I love the game in general, but there are some small cons that really bother me; like mobs. While progressing in my class story or quest lines, it appears there are a multitude of mobs between myself and my objective. I prefer not to fight any mobs, but unfortunately I did not choose an advanced class with a stealthing ability. My first character was a Jedi Shadow, and it was great to simply sneak by all of the mobs, but now that I'm without it, the mobs take a really long time to kill, or I have to run away from them.

Suggestion:

It is difficult to level your character without killing mobs and doing quests, unless you're leveling via pvp and simply completing story quests. Part of leveling is gaining experience points, or XP. This is done in part by completing objectives, but also by killing mobs. Not to mention, you also may frequently find a bonus quest appears while killing mobs, which grants additional XP. This becomes helpful later in the game, as the story quests become more and more challenging.

If the mobs are taking too long to kill, I suggest running a Flashpoint or two, as well as participating in PVP (at least completing the daily quests) so you can be at least a level or two above the suggested quest level. This makes the killing of mobs go by much more quickly, and thus, you will no longer dread multiple packs of mobs, but relish them.

If this is not the case, and you simply want to watch the stories playout, I believe youtube has many of the cinematics uploaded for your viewing pleasure.

There should be an option box when you pick up the quest, with three options:

[] Supereasy

[] Superdupereasy

[] Game over

If you pick the first one, you have to complete the quest, but no mobs will spawn. If you pick the second one, the quest autocompletes for you. If you click the third one, it autocompletes the entire game for you.

Ughhhh... Whyyyyyyyyyyyy? I just want derp mode!

No clicking of the buttons. At all. Come on BW!!!!!!!

I actually hate playing a stealth class because I can't stop myself from using it. I have a level 33 Vanguard that goes in guns blazing wrecking everything in sight. And then there's my shadow... who sneaks around like a weenie. I'd rather play a bad muthashutyomouth than a weenie.

I originally had a shadow too, but realized I was likely to pass mobs in anticipation of the next step, that I would be painfully underlevel.

Sage, Juggernaut, Gunslinger. done.

Yeah? How many alts have you run through the game?

3 at 50. Several from 25-40 in progress on two different servers.

I don't care about killing mobs, it's more the linear nature of questing that I COULD complain about, but I enjoy myself.

Yes, some zones are compact, but others are EASY to maneuver around mobs if you're not feeling up to it.

It's the 25% OP wants to also avoid, what part of that do you not get. To put it in real terms - that's an extra 25% of his time multiplied by 7 (alts) completely wasted on killing extra mobs.

hahahahahahahaa

WTB GAME WITH NO MOBS. 100% Mob Avoidance!

"It's the 25% the OP wants to ALSO avoid." I presume, in saying "ALSO avoid" in response to Saurakk's post stating that 75% could be avoided, that you meant the remaining 25% of unavoidable mobs are, well, the problem. Am I mistaken in presuming that you're saying 100% avoidance on alts is desireable?

Actually (your obvious sarcasm aside) there are MMOs that have little to zero MOBs, or the need to interact with them. Second Life, EVE Online ( was a pure miner and hauler in Hi Sec)... and in SWG Pre-NGE my Droid Engineer would run around planets avoiding MOBs all the time to place harvesters.

It's not THAT outlandish of an idea really.

Which one of those is a top rated successful MMO? And I mean making money, not how much you like the game.

No but it's something that has to be part of the design from the very start. It's not something you can simply add into a existing MMO that wasn't designed around it.

Also the ones you list are all sandbox type systems, not theamparks like SWTOR is.
