  1. Just got this from Arcann after taking Iresso back on my Consular: REGRET.
  2. Ugh, like that moment in the cutscene (I think in the Chiss FP?) where he's talking to himself like, saying he's sorry or whatever. So annoying. I'd bet money on him sacrificing himself out of his undying loyalty, in order to save the commander from the Zildrog fanatics or something.
  3. Do I need to spoiler this? I'm assuming not. lol If they want to get back to the "root" of the story by focusing on Imp vs. Pub (a la the game that shall not be named and their shift back to basics as well..) and as you say, to do that they have to deal with this whole storyline that stands in the way of that. Enter Theron, and his pals at the Order of Zildrog. I kind of like the idea of them succeeding in ending the Eternal Alliance (from a storytelling standpoint) but can almost guarantee this is another "I'm betraying you but secretly just infiltrating the enemy I'm still your guy" type thing. I imagine they'll still have to throw a bone to players and give them the choice to "forgive" Theron when he reveals he was just being a spy doin' spy things, or to kill him because he's seriously annoying. The latter would then earn the enmity of Satele and Jace, which would be great from an Imp vs. Pub narrative. Both sides are trying to rebuild, so it would be cool to aid in the effort to restore the cities (which of course still look the same..) and help rebuild the leadership. But, yeah. Probably a 2-part flashpoint where Theron reveals he was really helping us by infiltrating the OoZ, and we get a nice cutscene/companion choice, and then it's all over and we're back on the fleet for the next story instance in 8-12 months.
  4. This was one of the many surprising things coming back to the game, I hardly see areas claimed by guilds anymore. I can think of several potential solutions (both mechanisms I've experienced before, and some speculative) that would have probably been more effective at "balancing" the competition between the massive, well organized guilds - which are able to succeed through both effort and scale - and giving the small and mid-size guilds (that put in the work) a chance. Without, you know, killing the utility of alts in a significant way. I think BW just took the easiest, most cost-effective route, and wound up undermining the system and reducing its efficacy as a game element meant to engage players. Hopefully the changes restore Conquest as a fun, engaging system (if not fun or engaging, at least motivating players to interact with otherwise obsolete content). Although its probably better for me if I have fewer reasons to log on.
  5. I just came back to the game, and have found the changes to conquest bewildering. It is very frustrating to realize that so many of the more accessible objectives are legacy-wide, meaning I have to focus on a main character or two as opposed to cycling through my alts. From a game design perspective, it doesn't make sense to be so alt-friendly (and, to be honest, dependent upon alts for added longevity) and yet at the same time implement a system that forces players to limit their play to fewer characters if they want to be productive toward guild goals, and especially the personal objectives. I'm more inclined to log out for the day if those objectives can't be repeated across my alts, which means I have less reason to login throughout the week (which you don't really want in an MMO, right?). It also doesn't make sense for certain objectives to be one-time or limited to once/daily across the legacy (heroics, rampage, critical missions, crafting, etc.) while only giving points to one character. If only one character can get credit for, say, Rakghoul Tunnels: Defeat the Catalyst, then every character on the legacy should get the credit for it in point value as well. Otherwise I'm being shoehorned into choosing ONE character (strategically based on how much time I want to spend on each character) in a game that heavily encourages alts to complete a high-value task. In the correct system, it would be repeatable on each character, for points on each character - because you want characters to have options; you shouldn't be limiting them. As a player, I should be encouraged to spend more time in-game, and by allowing those tasks to be repeated, it means the highlighted area (i.e., Rakghoul Tunnels) is more likely to have higher populations sustained for a longer period of time. Having maxed the rep, unlocked everything I want, etc. I basically pop-in for the available conquest objective and leave for the day. In the system I'm proposing, I'd be there longer across my alts as opposed to just logging out. Again, I've just come back after a few years (since 2015? I think?) and my main motivation for finishing conquest is just to access the conquest vendor, and donate some engineering parts to my guild. This being the case, I'm not jumping into group finder right now (and honestly, the role-less uprisings are still absolutely awful - even though I understand it's necessary with a reduced player population) nor am I operation-ready, but I imagine doing those might make it a bit easier to complete conquest objectives on multiple characters. So, in summary: You should consider making fewer of the objectives legacy wide, meaning that the majority of objectives should be repeatable on multiple characters daily. The current system feels annoyingly restrictive, and actually prohibits me from playing how I want to by making me feel like I need to focus everything on one character. It all boils down to asking you to give players things to do. You shouldn't be discouraging alts, or avoiding tasks that could easily be repeatable (which, in turn, results in more people working together to accomplish those tasks). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6. Someone started a reddit thread about this, and I don't know that the SWTOR devs check that regularly or not. Can we please have the companion crew skill window organized by companion level, or if nothing else, alphabetical? It's a bit of a hassle to scroll through the ever growing list of companions (I've completed the first wave, and I can't imagine how much more it will grow over time) to try to track down the highest ranking companions when they have no particular order. Additionally, the scale of the influence bar is now so small (especially now that we're no longer dealing with a cap of 10k) that it's rather meaningless at a glance for the time being. It would be more useful for players to have the numbered rank on the bottom corner of the companion portrait (or below it) rather than a tiny bar beneath it. Also, there is no way of knowing in the Alliance window whether a companion is on a crew/crafting mission, which means a player is often subject to cancelling a mission they'd forgotten or thought was finished by summoning a companions from the alliance window. Even if there was some sort of indicator (crew skill icon) in the alliance window to reflect a companion was otherwise busy, or something that said "This companion is currently on a crew skill mission" giving the player the option of cancelling it or waiting it out.
  7. I don't believe we get the breakup via letter - at least not yet. The letters that have been shared don't acknowledge infidelity just yet. I'm assuming the "breakup" - or unfaithful consequence - will likely come about when the companions are found in future chapters, IF your character confirms the start of a relationship with one of the new companions in Chapter IX.
  8. Did you remove the butler customization from treek? Treek was bugged and wearing the droid customization after 4.0, so if that's the case for you, chances are treek is wearing it and it can be removed and placed back in your inventory. I've also posted the work around to restore the droid to your crew, and they can again equip their customizations.
  9. If you're missing C2-N2 or can't equip his customization, here is the workaround: - Take your ship to Odessan in Wild Space via Galaxy Map. - Go inside the Cantina - Talk to C2-N2 and 2V-R8, both have brief dialog quests. At which point, both will be added to your companion roster, and they can again properly equip customizations and weapons. This can be done at any level (barring those who have yet to complete the story step to acquire their ship), even if you don't have early access to the expansion. It seems this step is needed to resolve a conflict between the pre-4.0 ship droid, and post-4.0 ship droid until we get a patched fix, which would explain why it doesn't recognize old ship droids when trying to equip their customizations.
  10. More like they wanted to reduce the odds of people trying to profit on the conversion. Many devs release major update information much closer to the date it'll be released these days, primarily to reduce speculative markets and the chance for part of the playerbase to gain a possibly "unfair" advantage. Also, as a former producer, part of it is because they're working to get as much into the update as possible, and it's someone (or many someones) job to consolidate all of those changes into an overall working document, and more often than not, they have other important responsibilities they're managing as well. Further, things change pretty rapidly, so I'm pretty certain that the "patch notes" for KotFE one month ago looked very different than those that we got today. It's part of the development process.
  11. So, what will happen to unlocked stronghold decoration utility items that have been removed from the game? For instance, a number of artifact and crystal crafting materials are being converted - and thus it would stand to reason that the decoration utility for those materials would be converted too, meaning if a player has 10 of the soon-to-be-removed items unlocked, they'd be losing ~2000 prestige in said conversion. Is that an accurate assumption? Will the converted crafting materials result in a loss to prestige as their associated utility decorations are converted? Having gone through the effort to unlock all of them, I'm not exactly looking forward to the loss of prestige (not to mention the credit investment, but nothing to be done about that...)
  12. I just ran into an issue across all of my characters, in which the crew missions show up fine in the crew skill window, but the crafting skill known schematics do not show up at all. If I learn a new schematic, it will show up in the list until I log out - and if I log in again, it will return to listing nothing under my crafting schematics. I have all of the filters set to "all" and not even the crafting categories show up. I've restarted the client several times to no avail. I had no issues yesterday, and nothing has changed on my side to give any sort of logical cause to the error, so I figured I'd post in the case that it isn't an isolated incident. Also, are there any suggestions as to how to fix this issue? Screenshot of window/skills. http://imgur.com/5FKb9P0 Update: Just noticed that I can't loot either, while out running Rishi dailies. I can accept auto-complete mission rewards (i.e., dailies), but I can't loot mobs I've killed. This issue started after my Thursday night raid in Reavers and ToS. I don't know if I maybe looted something at the same time as someone else, and bugged it out or what. I also had crafting missions running, to craft my last few augments, but after logging out and logging back in the next day, I was unable to see any crafting missions/schematics unless they were newly learned in that play session. I've logged in/out of the client, restarted my computer, and unplugged/replugged my mouse (in the course of traveling, today). I don't have the option to repair the client. I can not log into one of my characters, the last one I'd attempted to log into prior to noticing the bug. The client freezes when I attempt to log into that character, at about 35-40% on the loading screen. Prior to that issue, I was able to send comps on crafting missions just fine. My gathering/crew missions still work as intended.
  13. At level 55, a player has access to a slew of group finder content, including level 55 HM FPs, Several Tactical FPs, and all of the level 50 HM FPs. At 60, we only have access to two tactical FPs, and the few, new level 60 HM FPs. Why don't we have the ability to queue for 55 HMs as we were able to queue for 50 HMs at level 55? It just seems that the amount of content we can queue for at 60 is minimal, which is obviously something you'd want to avoid, considering the issues the game has experienced with that in the past. So, please, reconsider allowing us new level 60s to queue for 55 HMs, and perhaps a 55-60 Tactical selection.
  14. Started on Zaalbar, abandoned my characters to reroll on the Harbinger. I remember.. - Being the only person on every planet from Alderaan to Corellia (never saw a heroic until I re-rolled on Harbinger). - Getting on Mumble to have a nice, random group member walk us all through the shortcuts in BoI FP (still friends with that person now!) - Having a special global chat channel (LFG) set up prior to the addition of groupfinder. And getting a lot of groups that way. - Karagga's Palace actually being troublesome to get through (especially the rooms with the technicians/creeper droids; to this day, someone always runs in, and finding a tank that could move Karagga properly). - The server being crazy active 24 hours, courtesy of the huge APAC community. - Never pugging Lost Island, because it was a nightmare getting a group that didn't know how to fight the droid or the Savrak/Savrap (sp). - Getting my face melted on my first FP (KuS), and having a kind sage in full Tionese gear pass on drops so I wouldn't be such a mess. - Just finishing up Corellia, and seeing a sage in full Rakata in our heroic 4 quest, and thinking "Sweet head fan + oven mitt combo. I need to raid." - Watching the first SWTOR guild summit stream, and being so excited for things to come. - Having a packed friends list (once I rerolled on Harbinger) with a large portion of people on frequently, to always fill in groups. Since coming back to the game after a year away, I haven't seen a single one on. - Being SO EXCITED for server consolidations, and the luck that Zaalbar was being consolidated to Harbinger.
