I suppose its a budget thing, more uniform weapons - less time/money to make all those fancy fighting animations. It does feel a bit immersion-breaking though. Didn't notice it with my Sentinel at first either as he has two sabers with the same model, but it was quite noticeable on my Mercenary with two different guns. I have a full jedi temple guard on a shadow with a yellow DBLS.
