Forums are about throwing hyperbolic incendiary rhetoric back and forth at one another until the moderators have to step in and separate the mouth-breathing, gasket-blowing nerds before they suffer an aneurism! If you don't see that, then you clearly fail not only at the game, but at life, and should promptly hurl yourself into the nearest trash incinerator, lest you infect the rest of the world with your epic fail! Not intergalactic travel. Not cyborgs who use the dark magic of an ancient religion building spaceships to blow up entire planets. Not talking lizards who serve drinks to amphibious customers who in turn make a living hunting down flying fish and shooting them with laser guns so they can claim a bounty from a giant legless blob that talks. The troopers got their orders, walked up behind a Jedi (Master) and then shot them in the back till they were dead, from like 5 feet away. RowanThursday Posted January 30, 2012 Share Posted January 30, 2012 Oh, in honour of the original movies, Trooper PCs really need a special ability called "Badly Aimed Shot" - Spectacularly and repeatedly miss your target at laughably short range. Stuns all enemy players and mobs within 10m as they are helpless with laughter for 10 seconds. If this occurs less than half an hour after a respected authority figure has claimed that Troopers have greater accuracy than sand people, enemies are stunned for an additional 10 seconds. Well, if the Jedi characters weren't the best in the galaxy you might have a point. However, you don't need to make a point. It's a game. Thus the sub-conscious Order 66 programming bypassed the normal 'hate/anger' that accompanies an act of violence. Don't remember the actually terminology in the books, but it strongly suggests that reading intent is an "active" ability that is largely focuseable. i.e. jedi are very prone to tunnel vision when it comes to defense. Can put up pretty much 100% defense in a certain direction at the cost of being completely vulnerable to others. Which would have made for a good gameplay mechanic. As it stands, it doesn't seem to matter which direction you attack somebody from, except for certain positional abilities. 2) Yoda who is VERY powerful and very well known to the Emperor hit in a swamp on degobah for years! They actually explain that in the books. The cave that is "strong in the darkside" where Luke fights himself is where Yoda defeated a darkside master. Sounds like Hutt Ball to me. Kill, then get killed. Silly Jedi shouldn't have LoS his healers! Either way, if you're concerned about the Jedi being killed by a Sniper, then maybe you are playing this game for the wrong reasons. It wasn't overpowered it was ALPHA!...Cue swish for dramatic effect:hope_06: Jedi for a while did have permadeath though (3 deaths and your toon was toast). Regardless the masses complained and Jedi were made available to all and nerfed down to other class'es strengths (though not as a direct result of the complaints). Point is, Uber Jedi can't exist in an MMO unless all the classes are force sensitive imo. P.S. Han shot the TIE escort...who then veered off to the side clipping Vader's TIE Advanced. Hint: Wingmen should never literally fly on your wing!!! genesiser Posted January 30, 2012 Share Posted January 30, 2012 When "Star Killer" from the xbox 360 game was being controlled by me, he was an unstoppable force that could avoid every attack and defeat even the strongest of bosses in the star wars universe with absolute ease. When my roomate controlled him a lowly ranked regular npc would kick his behind. It goes to show you that even the strongest jedi can have bad days.
