  1. I really must be missing something here - but can't you just put the weapon in your outfit page so you wear it without being equipped? I do it with other cartel gear that I got a while back. Is there something different about the weapons from the cartel store that I don't know about? EDIT: Oh wait I see the issue, there is no weapon slot in the outfitter page. Now it all makes sense, lol
  2. It's unfortunate. This is one those threads where I could easily say to do what I do which is to play the game for a month when new content comes out, experience the content, then move on to something else until the next set of content comes out. And while it would be easy to say that, were everyone to do that, then the game would be even less supported with lack of funds. For me, 7.0 has been pretty good because I haven't played in about 2 years and it's cool to experience all the stuff I've missed and I love the ability to have another class to swap to. But even though for me personally it's been great, I can definitely see where all the complaints have come from. It can't be fun waiting for months on end for new content only to get 1.5 hours worth of story, a screwed up bolstering and scaling system, nerfed companions which makes stuff you used to be able to easily to take longer, and having it take longer to cap conquest. All we can basically do at this point is hope the future updates at the very least add a bit more story content and fix all the scaling systems that got screwed up along with reverting the conquest changes. I really don't see them reverting the skill system kind of like wow refused to go back to the old system once the system that was similar to this came out.
  3. What makes sentinel (and the jedi knight class in general) feel somewhat tedius to play is the only way to gain rage is to use a move. Every other class has their resource automatically replenish and if this were basically any other mmo, you would have your auto attacks generate rage. They should add a passive that has you generate 1 rage every 3 or 5 seconds while in combat. This would have a dramatic effect on the feel of the spec by reducing the amount of times you have to hit your weak basic attack.
  4. I recently decided to give this game another go after a few years and downloaded the launcher from this website, installed it, loaded it up and as soon as the game launched in full screen mode, then BAM. My monitor went haywire and kept flashing on and off. Thus began my journey to figure out the problem and give info on what I did to fix it. A little backstory and extent of problem is I play on a laptop with a monitor connected to it via hdmi 2.0 cable. My monitor has a native resolution of 2560x1440 and signal resolution of 2560x1440 144hz refresh rate. When I have my laptop open and "duplicate" the screens everything was fine, however as soon as I would close my laptop so my monitor became the main display, it would go back to flashing on and off again after loading swtor even when I wasn't in the game. After doing some research and looking around my computer I had learned that somehow my monitors SIGNAL resolution got changed to 3840x1620 when it was acting as main screen and my monitor doesn't even support that. This was a pain staking process because my monitor would have a black screen for like 10 seconds and flash on for 1 second. The FIX[ happened when I went to display settings by right clicking my desktop then advanced display setting > Display adapter properties > list all modes > choosing correct display option > hit okay then apply. My monitor started working again after that. So I decided to see if I could replicate the error and this time started swtor in windowed mode (not windowed fullscreen) and it worked no problem. I then put it in windowed fullscreen then all of a sudden it made my monitor freak out again and it continued just like previously so I had to do the same fix as before. And it was here that I found the MAJOR ISSUE. It turns out when I would use the launcher that I downloaded from this website a popup would come up and say, "Would you like this program to make changes to this pc". I figured it was part of the launcher and this is a trusted website so I was clicking yes.By clicking yes, when the game loads up in full screen it actually changes your computer settings to have that new display setting. I know this, because after realizing it, I loaded up the game but this time clicking no and while it bugged out my monitor, when I closed the game all was fine. Oddly enough, I tested downloaded the game on steam and when you open the game, you don't get the popup asking if you will let the program make changes. Anyway, I've learned that if I want to play fullscreen I have to play the game with my laptop open while duplicated my screen. No idea why this is considering my comp and monitor can run way more intensive games at 144hz no problem. I looked into the user settings .ini and changed it to my native resolution but it still occurs. While I haven't figured out how to make it so I can play fullscreen when laptop is closed, I at least know how to prevent my monitor from freaking out and more importantly fix it for not only myself but other players as well if they come across this.
  5. I did 3 different warzones tonight after coming back from the game after a long break. I'm lvl 75 doing these and I'm noticing that people don't really die anymore. Looking at the scoreboard afterwards I had done 3.4 mil dmg and didn't get any kills. In the entire game where fighting was constantly going on there were only 8 deaths throughout the entire game, both teams combined. I mean it's cool to see hits sometimes hitting in the 30k range, but then everyone has around 380k health and it just takes sooooooo long for someone to die. Kind of makes pvp feel kind of boring. I know I only did 3 games, but jeez, 3 out of 3 games barely anyone died during it.
  6. Key word - Complete If you stick around till the end of the match, you complete the match; therefor you should get credit towards your quest It's nearly impossible to fail the veteran FP daily/weeklies in a single go. So why should the pvp quests, which you complete by being there for the whole match be any different?
  7. I don't see why they have the win requirement for the daily and weekly quests for pvp. The pve modes where you have weekly for veteran dungeons are pretty much auto win anyways. Might as well keep it consistent with each other.
  8. Obviously this is lost on you. Oh well, I guess I'll scrap this idea.
  9. The feature is the camera. In action combat games the camera is angled in a way where your character is slightly off to the side and rotated a bit so that there is an angled look at your character and the enemy you fight. Basically, it's an "Action Camera" camera setting that changes how you view the world. In every mmo the camera is basically directly behind you or if you choose looking downward. Having an action camera can change how you view the world and emphasizes the artwork in terms of the battle animations and view of the world around you. If you watch the first few minutes you get a comparison of how the normal camera is versus the action camera and you'll see how much of a difference it truly makes. Granted, it isn't exactly the greatest camera set up for hard mode raiding, but for everything else it creates a dynamic view of the world which allows the player to get more involved with not only his character, but the world around him. With the animations in this game, it would make quite the difference and allow us to get more connected to the character we create/
  10. So I'm guessing since you guys are talking about something completely unrelated, you guys don't think they should add a feature like this within SWTOR?
  11. That's what it was! Thank you, problem has been resolved!
  12. When I invite him, I am the group leader, correct? We've tried swapping leaders and both of us trying to queue but neither of us have the ability to do so.
  13. My friend and I recently returned to this game after a long hiatus and we created new characters to play. We both subscribed to the game and we would like to run flash points together, however when we are in a group and bring up the group finder for flashpoints, it doesn't allow us to queue as a group. Moreover, all the flashpoints disappear and we can't queue at all. I am lvl 33 and he is lvl 16. I noticed that when I queue solo that the levels range from 10-65 and you get bolstered to 65 so I wouldn't think our level difference is what is causing this. Is there something wrong on our end or can you just not queue as a group for flash points using the group finder anymore?
  14. You never really notice how much of a difference the camera can make when playing a game, but it can completely change how the game feels. Now, I know it's not always popular to talk about things being added from other games, but this is something that blew me away, and the game it comes from is from WoW. Now before everyone freaks out that it is coming from WoW this is something that someone discovered via the console commands in the beta version of the latest expansion and it is called the "action cam". A youtuber was showing this off and it completely changes how the entire game feels and makes fighting even basic enemies feel... well, action packed. You can check it out at the link below and it really gets shown off at around the 9 minute mark. I know the devs are always trying to figure out ways to make us feel closer to our characters via the story and other ways, but adding something like this would draw us closer to our characters at all times. Not only does it help us connect to the character, but it also completely changes the scale of the entire game. Video showing off the action cam in WoW (it would be even better with the the combat animations in this game!) PLEASE devs, bring this to SWTOR!
  15. If every OP drops the same gear, I think it may be fun to get a group and only focus on one OP at a time. Like, complete story mode and then hard mode. When you think about it, you could get a lot of content out of the raids. On the other hand, the group is constantly switching to different ops, then it won't be fun at all.
  16. Just because the music you listen to isn't the same that the game supplies, it doesn't mean you don't generally agree with what is being said. You are still using your own music to help with the immersion and enjoyment you get from playing the game.
  17. The music is used well.... When it actually plays. Unfortunately a large majority of the game is without music.
  18. Since this game was released, I've found myself playing for a while, unsubbing for a few months, re-subbing for a month, and going back and forth. The game is good, but I always get the sense that it's kind of... boring. Now, when I say boring, I don't mean the combat or things to do, but it's just the feeling I get when traversing the planets doing quests, gathering, or whatever. This time around however, I stopped to really think about why it gets boring and I realized it had to do with the drone sound of the speeder and general lack of immersion. Once I realized this I ended up alt-tabbing the game and going to youtube to listen to different star wars soundtracks from either movies or previous games. Once I did this, the game INSTANTLY felt more immersive and became much more entertaining in all aspects of the game. I had a few guild mates try this and they too felt the same way. The funny thing is, no matter the song from a soundtracks, a majority of the time they fit with any aspect of the game including all dialogue portions, pvp, flash points, roaming on planets, etc. (all except cantina type songs). Now, the music in this game is pretty good, unfortunately it is much too sparse and much of the time there is none at all. If the devs either added a music loop option that was on by default or reduced the time there is no music for at most 30 second intervals, it would create a feeling of epicness that they tried to achieve. Music helps set a mood for any game or event - the large amounts of time with no music makes the game go from really entertaining to a game that pushes boredom on the player.
  19. Why would I play music that is unrelated to the game, let alone the zone I am playing in within the game?
  20. I enjoy the music in this game in pretty much every zone I'm in, but with all the work that went into creating the music, why can't we have it play all the time? There is a lot of time when I'm going from place to place that there is no music and all I can hear is my speeder... quite boring. Please give us the option to loop the music.
  21. Myself and friend are looking for a group or guild that raids. I am a gunslinger and he is a scoundrel. On the ops target dummy I do around 2500 dps and he does about 2100 (I am in mostly 69 gear, he is in a mix of 66-69s). We are looking for either an 8 or 16 man ops group, either is fine; however we would like to get in a group that will eventually get into hard mode raiding, or perhaps jump right into a hard mode group because the story mode 55 ops are... so easy that they are very boring. Anyway, if you are a group or guild that is looking for two solid dps that can follow mechanics while keeping up the dps throughout the fight, please let me know. Thank You!
  22. I hate tanking in this game for two reasons. (notice I didn't use the words "don't like" or "dislike" but literally used the word "hate") 1 - WAY too many stuns and knockbacks from enemy npcs. I hate losing control of my character and this game knocks you around like a pin ball. It's very frustrating tanking with the enemies they have in this game. It would be one thing if a boss did a stun or knock back every now and then, but it seems like every other fight you lose control of your character. 2 - The other thing I hate about tanking in this game is how enemies all use their moves at the same time and you get rocked at the beginning of the fight and it's why you are more likely to die during trash than you are an actual boss fight. Here's a quick example... You start up a fight and an enemy uses unload which is a high damaging channeled ability. Normally wouldn't be a problem, but you don't just have that one enemy doing it. Instead you have three enemies blasting you with the same move right as the fight starts so your hp just drop insanely fast. It's not just unload, it's enemy dots and whatever else the same enemy types have for moves. Needless to say, very annoying. Anyway, those are the two main reasons I don't like tanking in this game. Tanking is something I enjoy doing in other games but this game makes tanking nothing more than a huge headache.
  23. Every time I see people posting parses and they are getting 3k+ dps on them, it always makes me feel like I really suck at playing my character when I can only get around 24-2500 dps. But apparantly it looks like gear has a lot to do with it and I hadn't really realized it. Looking at your stats, you must be in almost full 72 gear - I'm in mostly 66-69 gear with no 72 items. But, now that I see your stats (I have like 600 less cunning or so) I don't feel bad. In other words, thanks for posting your stats.
  24. You know, the problem with these threads is you usually have no idea what kind of gear these people are sporting with different specs. Some of the super high parses may be with people in fully augmented with purple augments in full 72 gear where as the other specs may be in 69 gear, non augmented gear. Without seeing someone's gear, you don't really have any idea which spec is truly the strongest spec out there.
  25. There's no cap, you just need a lot of it to actually make a difference and unfortunately getting that high number will be very costly in terms of your accuracy and surge (alacrity, acc, and surge all share the same item budget). To give you an idea of how much alacrity will effect your character, 300 alacrity rating will = about 5% alacrity, or .075 seconds reduced from your 1.5 sec gcd or 1.5 sec cast times and .15 secs off your 3 sec channeled skill. 600 alacrity rating will = about almost 8%, or .12 seconds reduced from your 1.5 sec gcd and .24 secs off 3 sec channeled skill. To put this in perspective, if you do 1 minutes worth of 1.5 sec abilities, you will do 42 moves vs the normal 40, and with 600 alacrity you will do 43 moves. If you do 50% 1.5 sec moves and 50% 3 sec channeled moves you will do 22 1.5 sec moves with 300 alacrity and still 22 moves with 600 alacrity along with 10 3 sec channel skills with 300 alacrity and still 10 with 600 alacrity (total difference is there will be a total of 1 second left over which isn't enough for any new moves.) So long story short, unless they double the amount of alacrity you get per point, alacrity is useless with everything you lose just to see a minor increase. One could make the argument that getting 5% alacrity to get that extra 1 or 2 moves per minute would be worth the loss in surge or accuracy, but you also have to remember that in order to actually get the full benefit of alacrity you have to be constantly doing moves to make sure you are utilizing the haste. So, no movement, no lag, nothing, just constant casting or attacking.
