  1. Already bored with WoD, and after a lengthy hiatus from SWTOR I've decided I need to get back to it. I leveled several characters up to 50 in the past, but am leaning toward playing my sage (lvl 20) to break myself back into the game before continuing on to the new content. I'm not really all that interested in grinding through all of the same content I did several times before and was considering healing my way through most of it via PvP, FPs, etc. I would still like to progress through the story, since it's my favorite aspect of this game, and am unsure whether or not it's possible without working my way through all of the zones. Ultimately, I want to heal end game content once I get there, and I'd really like to learn my craft as I work my way there, instead of frustrating others while learning on the fly at level cap. Is this a reasonable goal, or will the process simply be far too lengthy or arduous to attempt? Thanks in advance for any constructive input.
  2. It's an annoyance, and an unnecessary one. Hell, I'll bet they could bring in a few more CC purchases if they implemented spec tabs and charged per tab. Then you'd still have the option of not being "lazy" while the rest of us have fewer of our already limited game-playing hours sapped from us. Those "few minutes" add up over time with repetition.
  3. Hah! "cagey" I get it! I haven't RPed in roughly 10 years, but I never really had a desire to RP something that hacks-up hairballs, craps in a box, and uses its own tongue for toilet paper. Why are people so hell-bent to see this species released?
  4. So many good points in a brief post. 1) Why does the rep fleet look like a freaking penal colony? 2) Save for the iconic trooper armor (minus the days of rainbow brite mismatch troopers abound) the republic gear is so painfully boring. Brown robes I get and expect, but they don't even do those right. And why do I keep seeing people in fleet with a friggin bell on their head?! 3) Smugglers can be fun from a story/attitude standpoint, but there is nothing endearing (for me) about playing Jedi in this game. I went dark on my Jugg and light on my inquisitor and both were not only fun but made sense. You're either a cold blooded killer or a calculating, manipulative mastermind. Playing a light sentinel was soooo boring that I had to switch halfway through. I didn't enjoy playing a completely out of character Jedi any more than I did a tattletale. I simply had an "IDGAF am I 50 yet?" attitude ... And mind you I played hard core Reb all through SWG. I went dark on my vanguard after rerolling my 44 unplayable commando, and it was mildly amusing being a dirty cop. 4) After hitting 50 on my sin I attempted to play a sage to change it up and be a caster, but there was nothing even slightly cool about my primary channeling spell being a full shop vac on reverse. Hah take that! Now you're all dirty. And you're not really dead because I'm a goody two shoes Jedi who wouldn't dare do that. No. Instead you are simply shamed and humiliated to the point of submission. I wil now call you Pig Pen. I could go on, but it's all been said and I won't. The only fun part about playing Republic in this game is getting into a warzone with Wook and dominating Imps who you know can't deal with losing based upon previous experience as one of the unfortunate Imps dealing with "this team sux" spam. (No, I'm not in Wook) As for this, I think it's a poor measure. So many current 'Pubs won't be playing 'Pub once the expansion comes out. They're just killing time until they have a reason to play their mains (see Imps) again.
  5. This mentality amuses me. I don't subscribe to the theories of hedonic calculus, so I'm not certain how my deciding how to spend my time is selfish while you demanding how I spend it for your enjoyment isn't. Keep your socialism and I'll keep my sanity by spending my time doing what I enjoy.
  6. So much masochism is hilarious. I've been in a few WZs in which my team overcame early fail to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Everyone has at some point. Stop wearing this claim like it's medal-worthy. I've also been involved in countless, fruitless efforts steeped in futility that served no purposes other than wasting my time and putting me in an indescribably sour mood. I endured those losses back when server pops were abysmal and quitting meant waiting as long as it took for the fail zone I was currently involved in to finish, and I figured I may as well get something in the way of comms and valor rather than staring at the GTN for 20 minutes. I unsubbed and quit playing this game for about 9 months only to do the unthinkable and return to it about a month ago. There's a lot still broken, but one thing is fixed: Pops are high enough and queues short enough that I can make a choice in how I spend my time in-game rather than being a victim some unseen fascist regime of unfun. My time for playing games is brief and precious to me. It's time I spend unwinding after a day of teaching 120+ kids and being a slave to the needs of my wife and kids. I don't need to spend such a valuable and limited resource listening to people spew in ops chat about how terrible everyone else is. I don't need to spend that time getting run over 4 games in a row by the same group of 6-8 guild mates spamming emotes while punching the infant that is my disorganized PUG. Start punishing me for deciding how to spend MY time and I'll decide to play another game. If you don't like it when I leave a WZ and somehow ensure your defeat in doing so, I'll leave the door open on my way out for you. I don't fault you for wanting to spend your time chasing a dragon, never mind how I spend mine.
  7. Is your ISP bill paid? This may sound like a "duh" question, but whenever I've been late paying an ISP bill, this very same thing would happen to me. It would start out pretty sporadic and after being a week or two behind (because I simply forgot to pay it) it would get progressively worse until it was unplayable. I'd call in to check for outages only to have the convenient "your bill is past due" message waiting for me. As soon as the bill was paid the hiccups stopped. Or you could simply try rebooting your router. Maybe play something else to see if it happens in that game too. Simply put, I've experienced nothing like this in SWTOR so I don't think it's system wide or anything of that nature. Could be driver-specific or any number of other variables. Hope you get it sorted out.
  8. Thanks it was in AH near the entrance point.
  9. I see Mummy Hunters, Manta Heads, Preggo Cobras (ala GI Joe), SnM Consulars, DirecTVanguard, Bad B-Movie Spaceman Knights, and a few cool looking armors. I've played lots of MMOs in my time, and none of them had so many blatantly bad looking outfits as this one. Still love playing the game, but thankfully there's no gear making me think "Honey, you and the kids need to leave me alone for a few hours. I gotta raid and get some of these sick drops tonight!" In short, thanks for continuing to make end game look so ugly. It's helping to keep my marriage in tact.
  10. Anyone else seen this? Happened to me in a warzone a few minutes ago. Went from full health to zero and only had two of these messages to show for it. In the exchange I was knocked back and hit once.
  11. I .... What? Next time you buy a pack with your free points, check the bottom of the item descriptions. Then proceed to head butt your desk.
  12. It's a cry for attention and reassurance that others feel the same way. Often, it's an attempt to rally others to their "cause" since more voices speak louder than one. Either way, it's Not what most of the posters are claiming they are doing. If it isn't meant to fit one of the above, then why aren't you just sending them an email that no one else sees/hears? Don't claim to be simply "speaking with your dollars" by standing on a street corner yelling at random passersby about the grievous injustices you've endured. As far as the people chiming in to slam the OP and calling him a whiner, his question is valid and in the proper location. The "I quit (even though 97% of the time they don't)" whiners' posts are not.
  13. 1) Is this your first time on a PvP server? 2) if you're high enough level to be on Voss and this hasn't happened to you previously, congrat's.
  14. Just read some of the posts regarding guilds shaking people down for hundreds of thousands of credits to complete Gree events and you'll realize the validity of these concerns. I'm not bothering with Gree and most of my interactions with general chat involve muting others, so it doesn't affect me much. Regardless, I do understand their concerns. Bullies will be bullies, and when they get bored of Greefing (should copyright that), this will give them a new means of amusing themselves at the expense of others.
  15. Mako is easy mode. Gault is way more fun on all levels, esp if you're not going goodie-two-shoes.
  16. Cool, now I just need a Security Key app for my W8 phone. Get crackin!

    Too Close

Finished the flagship and got back on the Tyrant after the 2 min shutdown warning. After that run I'm wired as hell and it's 4:30 am. Anyone else have any exciting moments just before the servers went to sleep?
  18. I spent close to $150 for this box full of crap I've never even looked at, simply because of the claim of in-game item exclusives. In the time it's taken them to release next to nothing and not live up to my expectations, they've dropped the price for the CE to around $60. At least gimme $90 in cartel coins or something, and maybe I'll forget about this a while longer.
  19. I haven't played my Vanguard since I finished his story at 48. He's the only character I have sitting on that particular server. I would like to have him on the same server as all of my other characters. How will the absence of my absence adversely affect that server's population?
  20. This stance always irked me as well. If they're so worried about spoilers, why are companions ever seen in fleet or on planets which come before they are unlocked? Why isn't everyone relegated to grey coveralls in fleet? I don't want spoilers about gear. I want to be surprised when I get it! Why do we have missions that return us to low level worlds? I don't want to know at level 15 that at level 30ish I'll be back on DK. Weak justification is weak.
  21. Thanks for the newest addition to my sig. Love, A light side inquisitor who just finished his story line a few hours ago. Note: My first 50 was a full dark Jugg. It made sense for the Jugg. I am very happy with the strangely appropriate light side options for my 'Sin ... I won't elaborate on either due to spoilage. I got much more into the 'Sin I quit playing some 10 months ago when I unsubbed once I quit shocking and murdering everything. Much more interesting and in-character this way.
  22. Grab something to drink and go read the league of legends forums for a bit. There's your anyone can post example. I do agree with the previous poster suggesting a forum f2ps can use that's separate from the rest.
  23. Ah cool. I didn't notice because I'm too bust staring at my double-bladed light saber with only one functional side.
