7.5/10 Cutscenes, audio, and Star Wars are the only things going for it.

That's hardly the worst thing about the game, but one of a multitude of major issues that will prevent it from ever being the game people expected.

So basically it's relying on an IP and a development team that has no previous experience in the MMO genre? Yeah, we'll see who's right when April rolls around. I have a feeling the subscription numbers will be ugly.

This is the most feature-less MMO I've played in 4+ years. It's almost like they spent 80% of the development time on voice overs and the script.

It makes it unique, but also makes it so future content will take way more effort to develop. As a result, I expect this game to have short legs as players get sick of waiting for new content.

I agree. Technically SWTOR is the better looking game, but I can't stand its style. I think World of Warcraft looks much better visually. It's vibrant, plays smoother, and feels way more alive. SWTOR is full of huge empty rooms.

So is BioWare calling me a liar? AMD Phenom X4 965 @ 3.4GHz 8GB DDR3 ATI 5770 I can't run the game at 1600x900 on the lowest settings with shadows disabled without 30~ fps. The game looks substantially worse than anything else on my computer too. I run Battlefield 3, World of Warcraft, Batman, etc. on High graphics with better framerate. The worst part? SWTOR looks ugly to me. This game simply doesn't give you the framerate your computer should be producing. As such, it's a poorly optimized game.

So much is wrong with that review. I don't mind a score higher or lower than what I'd give a game, but many of their points are actually false...

You'll wake up one day. SWTOR's combat most definitely has issues which are compounded when you're put in an intense situation (i.e. bosses and PvP).

Unsubscribed the day I hit level 33. The second that the honeymoon effect with the cutscenes wore off I realized this game is a step backward for the genre.

I have gotten poorer performance from SWTOR than any other game I've ever played. For how the game looks, it runs very bad on my system. AMD Phenom II X4 965 @ 3.4GHz 8GB DDR3 AMD 5770 Corsair 600T with 6 fans Corsair TX650 Gigabyte 990FX-UD3 Cooler Master Hyper 212+ I run Battlefield 3, World of Warcraft, Metro 2033, Age of Conan, and much more on medium-high graphics with higher FPS than SWTOR, and each of those games look much better visually. Also, shadows lower my framerate by about 40 in SWTOR. I've run the game at both 1080p and 1600x900, and it doesn't make a lick of difference. I am also on a new hard drive which I recently defragged so fragmentation isn't the culprit. Performance is one of three major issues that caused me to quit this game. I am bewildered by how poorly it runs despite not looking very good and having an enormous budget.

Just got on for my first time in 3 days. There's definitely a feeling that the animations take precedence over combat fluidity, and the GCD messes up quite often. PvP is a great way to see just why the combat isn't polished.

Well I haven't met anyone I know personally who hasn't felt it. It's basically clunky combat with little feedback, GCD glitches, and massive delay on abilities.

Amen. The game feels great up to around 20 and now that I'm 33 I can't stand it.

It won't die but it'll just be another Rift but with the Star Wars IP.
