  1. Are you saying this is a build that is good or bad? Sorry I am new to MMOs and am not that familiar yet with the lingo. I usually only see noob used in a negative context but then you call it OP (over powered?). So I am kind of confused.
  2. Thanks for the feedback. I agree it is a dumb build (20/21). But it does give me the chain lightening with wrath and still nothing, BUT by and large I have found chain lightening to be useless. I find this to be the case NOT because it isn't good but because at least for me it is rare to have more than 2 enemy standing close enough together for it to be beneficial to use. I used this build all day yesterday and only once in probably 10 or so war zones did I get a chance to hit more than two people at once. A whole teammwas surrounding the ball carrier in Hutt Ball. Even then from what i could tell it didn't provide me or my team any huge advantage. They still easily scored. Personally for my preference I miss my DoT that is at the top of the madness chain. With it I NEVER lost a 1v1 in PVP (assuming full health for both of us at the start) Just stun them, Hit them with that, affliction, and the other DoT (darkness I think it is called) then force lightening and their life ticked away so fast it was easy to take them out, especially when using jolt to stop their high hit attacks. They'd get maybe one good hit on me. With the chain lightening route and not having the DoT at the top of madness to add to the others, 1v1 just wasn't pretty for me when I got caught in it with the 20/21 build I was using...actually correction after going back to look at it would work put to be a 1/20/20, build with 1 going on the +1 crit in the healing tree. I think I'm going back to madness with the 3/7/31 build you suggest as it fit my play style. I only changed trying to get the higher single damage hits. I don't need a medal that bad to buy and constantly use stims in PVP. I just hate that I can at times have 2 times the kills and a lot more damage and come in lower than others on the leader board because they can get those higher single damage blow medals all the time...that and I have seen other sorcs who seem to get the lower single hit medal quite often. I didn't know what I was doing wrong...it appears I was not purchasing and/or using the proper stims and not so much with the build or way I was using my abilities.
  3. Is it possible as a sorcerer to consistently get the 2.5k single hit medal in PVP. I have played countless PVP matches and gotten it once and I have no clue how. I am spec'ed mainly madness and do great damage, but cannot get the 2.5k single hit medal. I typically get around 150k to 200k damage in a match, with times going over 200k and typically and typically and at or near the top for both damage and kills, but those high single hits seem to allude me. I have tried several builds and currently at level 46 have a hybrid build someone here recommended that will work out to be 20/21 (hate the build by the way and preferred my more straight madness build). Anyway, some help understanding what I should be using/doing to get those higher single hits would be appreciated.
  4. Yes to 1 (only started playing it for a few weeks and found it extremely boring) which leads to my answer for question number 2 No
  5. I agree lightening is awesome in Huttball as it is far easier to get and stay away from enemy players with all the different tiers in the game, but on the other two war zones sorcs are at anhuge disadvantage. Voidstar in particular can be rough as you pretty much have to stay out in the open and stealth player will pop out of nowhere and destroy you quickly or a trooper just stays back firing away at you. A trooper can fire and run leaving you practically hopeless and I am not sure what skill they have but the troopers many times seem immune to my stun. Best I can do to them many times is DoT which usually does very little damage to them. I just don't understand this thread as any decent DPS player should be able to take out a sorcerer fairly easily IF they can close that gap and most, if not all, of your DPS and tank classes have something to do that very very quickly.
  6. WHAT!!!!! Seriously I hate healers in PVP! I am thinking of respec'ing as a healer as they are virtually impossible to kill unless you have at least 2, preferably 3 people, on them. Sure assuming it isn't on cool down you can disrupt them once, but i have found even with one disrupt you can't do enough damage (as a Sorc anyway) for that to matter. And even with the disrupt by the time you've used it, typically 2 people have come to the healers aid....as they should. I am playing Sith and I gotta tell you the Rep side healers are pretty awesome and do really awesome in PVP...on the server I am playing on anyway. There are not too many Sith healers, but any time, and the only time, I have seen the Sith lose to the reps in PVP is when they (reps) have less than 2 healers...which is rare. Hence the reason I am thinking of respec'ing to a healer. It's difficult to even get a kill if the healers on the opposing team are any good.
  7. Is this thread serious? The sorcerer/sage from a DPS point of view are completely useless if they nerf this, and a DECENT PVP player would have enough sense to just close the gap between them and the sage and take them out. If I hit a good player w/ force lightening in seconds they are on top of me or have pulled me to them and start whaling on me...with light armor I am in trouble at that point. I am probably going to die, if I can't get away fast enough. Get in a 1 on 1 with anyone near the same level and skill as you and then tell me telekinetic wave and chain lightening do too much damage. In particular a trooper will destroy you and will do so very quickly if they have any idea how to properly use their class. Your light armor just can't stand up to their massive quick dealing damage. Is it even possible as a sage/Sorc to get the higher crit hit trophies in PVP. I am lvl 41, typically at or near the top of every leader board on PVP matches and never once got a high crit hit trophy, but notice almost every march the BH, troopers, etc...get it and a good marauder will get all the time as well. Nerf this and you will relegate sage/sorcs to being absolutely nothin but healers. Then people will be crying to nerf that.
  8. I didn't have to grind to get a speeder. I bought my speeder training and still had 50,000 credits. I'm lvl 33 now, still on Tatt...just finished Tatt...and have over 200,000 credits and only did any "grinding" up to lvl 4 as I like having some credits right off the bat, and that "grind" probably only took about 20 minutes. This game offers a lot, if you choose not to take advantage of what it offers to easily make credits and gain xp (group quests & PVP) that's your fault as an individual and not the game's fault. I personally vowed never to do any of the group or PVP stuff when I first started playing this game, but decided to give it a try and found them to be extremelynfun and enjoyable. I started this game for the solo story, but am loving more and more for its MMO features.
  9. While there is truth that the dollar is weak at the moment, this leading to Europeans paying more is flawed. The weaker the dollar the less you should have to pay if they (Bioware) wanted the same say $15/mo from you that they get from US players. With a weak dollar it would take less Euros (or British Pounds) to equal 1 dollar. Just my guess, but I would venture to say the real reason European costs are higher is because there are higher and more taxes in Europe than there are in the US. I would bet for most European nations for instance, Bioware probably has to add the VAT tax to the sub prices. The US does not have a VAT (national sales) tax. Actually, in the US if the transaction happens online, most states don't even require sales tax for the state be added to the transaction.
  10. This is true enough, but the problem is MOST, not all, of the negative post do NOT offer CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. It is just a bunch of people telling everyone how much they hate the game and they are quitting because it is so horrible. Painting those posts as offering suggestions to make the game better is a big stretch from 90% of what most of the negative posts on this forum bring to the table.
  11. If I give the original KOTOR, which was hands down the best game I've ever played, a 10, then this one is 8.5/10
  12. What is happening? I am experiencing no problems really and no one I play with has mentioned anything so severe that the game is virtually unplayable for them. @ OP Beyond the minute it takes to initially load into a world, which just isn't that bad and does not occur that often, my load times for anything is usually a couple seconds and vary very rarely maybe as high as 10 seconds. Not sure why you are experiencing such long load times.
  13. What does this have to do with this game? You should read the sticky about posting here if you want to participate in the forums.
  14. It is up to the individual. For me, I have experienced very little to no issues and imam having a blast playing this game. I've already gotten my entertainment cost well below $1 per hour with the time I've spent in game an I am including my 3 month sub. So yeah for me it was easy to decision to pay for 3 months up front as I love this game and the gaming experience it provides.
  15. Works for me as well at least for any quests I've had up through Taris. Though if I were experiencing this I would have to say it would be quite annoying to have a list full of grey quest as many of mine go grey before I get to them. On my character I am rolling now I am lvl 27 on just reached Nar Shadda so a lot of my quests are grey as soon as I pick them up. 5 xp isn't good enough incentive for me to waste my time on them.
  16. First off, if you are playing PVP, when the timer starts and the "gates" open you need to get into the match. You have a team that is relying on you. If you are just going to hang out check out what the vendor has for sale when the match is going it is my opinion that you need to get booted out to make room for someone who actually cobtributes to the team. Secondly, all your stats get "bolstered". I've been playing PVP since lvl 12 and just now reached lvl 26 and I am almost always in the top 3 of every match and typically the highest damage dealt for my team. PVP in this game is awesome....though I will be happy when some new war zones are added.
  17. I think you're over thinking it. You never have to show your legacy name...choose not to show under preferences. I am terrible at coming up with names. I had a pet once with no name because I could not come up with one. So for my legacy name I just did a play one my first name (interchanged some letters that essentially make the same sound) and never display it.
  18. This is your opinion. I am not saying no improvement or expansion in some of the current content is required, but I am having a blast playing this game. I think overall they've developed a pretty good game. This is the only MMO I've actually played and enjoyed. And no I am NOT just running around solo. I am grouping up so much that without grinding at all my current character is lvl 25 and I am only 1/2 way through Balmorra.
  19. I think it is funny that people are saying this class op, when the fact they fair well in PVP has more to with the fact they can operate from a distance instead of having to be right square in the middle of the fray. I would say from a pure DPS point of view my Jugg would destroy my Sorc. However, the Sorc has the advantage of dealing damage from a distance while my Jugg is trying to close the gap. Even with force jump as a Jugg all the Sorc needs to do stun and run and then withheld Jugg's force jump on a cool down the Sorc once again has the upper hand as the Jugg closes the gap. Not to mention in PVP the ranged shooter classes can reach me (shoot me) at a distance far enough away from me that my force powers can't reach them. (I am only lvl 21 so not certain if this will change at some point) At this point I need to try and close the gap making myself more vulnerable to aaracks on multiple fronts as people start to see and notice me "moving out of the shadows" or run at which time I take myself out of the battle. I love my Jugg, but melee just by its very nature is way handicapped in PVP. Very rarely do I ever see a melee class of any kind at or near the top of any leader board. I have seen maybe twice in the many many PVP session I've done a melee class at the very top. In PVE, I would much rather have my Jugg for sure as he can deal some quick and heavy damage, but PVP I like the advantage of ranged and therefore prefer the SI. Regardless the SI is hardly in need of a nerf, based upon my xp with the SI and the SW. Again their advantage is not to be found in DPS, but the fact they can stay out of the spot light and just deal damage from a distance.
  20. Of course someone would have to find a reason to keep whining. Awesome Bioware! I for one thought I'd never PVP in this game, but I've become quite the PVP addict!
  21. No reason to be so rude. I was just trying to help and stated point blank I was no comp expert. I NEVER experience the different load times into same areas as you are talking about. I've been playing this game since Oct in beta and all of my loads have ALWAYS been the same. A few seconds when already in planet and around a minute into a planet. Also I NEVER get a low memory warning as OP has described. Logically since the other specs he described are better than mine, and given that my system monitor typically shows 57% of my RAM in use with nothing more than the game and the system monitor running, 4gb seems to meet the absolute minimum spec of what is needed. Perhaps it is a game or server issue and for whatever reason I have been lucky enough not to have never experienced it. Again i know I AM NOT AN EXPERT as you seem to be.
  22. I am no expert either, but I'm pretty sure 4gb is the minimum reccomended any more for comps in general. We gamers typically need a bit more the the minimum. I would def try to upgrade at least 2gb more of RAM. Should help you a lot.
  23. My load times with all graphics set to high are typically not more than 5 to 10 seconds. The exception to this is the first initial load onto a planet, which I have never timed but would estimate to be around nminute. How much RAM do you have? I ask because I have 8gb and my system monitor usually show between 50 to 60% usuage when the game is running. So if you have less than 6gb this may be why your load times seem long. Also I believe I've seen people post turning off shadows under graphics has helped them run the game quicker.
  24. Yes or make a subs only forum as I assume the whiners and haters of the game won't be sub'ing. I come here to enhance my connection to the community and all there is is hate threads.
  25. I have yet to meet anyone unfriendly in game. Due mostly to shyness I guess, I had zero intent on ever grouping up with people. Honestly I am glad that I have decided to group with people, because everyone I have played with so far has been pretty nice and friendly....even after I got one of my groups killed by not playing my role properly on difficult fight. But yeah, if we meet in game, please don't mistake my lack of being talkative as me being rude...it just takes me a little while to warm up to people.
