  1. I don't even want to imagine. Whenever games like Guild Wars 2 and TERA introduce new specialization/ classes, the balancing becomes total chaos and it takes them a long time to actually keep things consistent once again. I wasn't really around (or paid any attention) when that was the case in SWTOR. How bad was it?
  2. Hopefully, someone over at BioWare will actually provide some insight about this. I'll keep my fingers crossed just in case!
  3. Well then. I recall contacting Support in regards to something similar back then and they never showed any sort of issues with that matter of fact, even when it was about a purchase to someone else. It's such a messy, blurred line... but eh, I get the picture. I'll just avoid anything of the sort from now on. This thread is now pointless. I was already provided the necessary answers that I was looking for and already discussed it with my friend in question; he'll just wait for the next event and see if he can participate himself.
  4. That is a fair point, actually. If it replaces one of the original skills, then it should be fine. Hopefully, that will be the case here.
  5. I'm personally not a fan since I already require three hotbars for every single character just to keep all the major abilities in check, and for advanced classes such as Mercenary/Commando I actually have to let go of one or two skills because there just isn't enough room. I would have very much have preferred to see a brand-new discipline added to all classes; now that would be quite interesting!
  6. It's quite the common practice in games like the original Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2, which is why I brought it up. If it's not allowed in SWTOR, then we'll stay away from trying such a thing. I'm just concerned about the fact that I travel a lot (from campus to back home), and not sure how the game reacts to such different IPs being managed like that?
  7. What? I specifically mentioned the opposite in the original post: Please make sure to read the original post before making any sort of assumptions. My friend and I have not attempted anything of the sort, and nor will we risk it given the current circumstances.
  8. Well, that's rather upsetting to hear... and quite odd, too. It's never been an issue in other MMOs that I've played. It's not too uncommon for me and friends to share each other's accounts for situations similar to the one I've depicted.
  9. Hey everyone, One of my friends has just started to play SWTOR recently. He seems to be enjoying the game, but real-life concerns haven't made it possible for him to play as much as he'd like to, and so he won't be able to benefit from the upcoming XP event. He said he would be alright with the idea of lending me his account so that I could babysit it for the week while he's away. I'm not really sure what BioWare's stance on this is, so I was thinking it'd be best to stop by the forums and ask before proceeding with it. These kind of things are generally okay with most games, but I don't really want to break any rules. Thanks in advance! Edit: My friend and I have not attempted anything of the sort, so please keep that in mind.
  10. No framerate improvements were ever mentioned.
  11. Uh, it's actually working just fine for me. You can even now preview items from their non-opened boxes!
  12. And you clearly haven't seen this user's comment history. He/she has been posting these kinds of blown-out complaints across the forums, even under the thread where Eric Musco addressed the situation. Just look at this thread's title as well.
  13. I can confirm that I'm experiencing a similar issue as well. It's not just present in the Character Select screen, but also in the Equipment tab as well.
  14. They've addressed this time and time again. There's been a delay when it came to purchases these past few weeks. Give it time. There's no need to keep freaking out when moderators have already explained that they are looking into it. This is mostly on EA's side, not BioWare's. Throwing random insults around won't get you anywhere. It's hard to believe you're a parent when you're so quick to lose your temper.
  15. Welp. That's one way to know that you're not being contacted by a bot.
  16. One thing that's been annoying me as of late is the fact that we seem to be getting more and more companions with each new update. I'm not against the idea of seeing new faces and all of that, but it has gotten to a point where the "Companions & Contacts" tab has become a mess. I usually like to keep at least three favorite companions around just in case and I vary it across characters. I was wondering if we would ever see a special category in this tab where players would be able to access their favorite companions without having to do much scrolling and looking. Like back in the base game where each major companion was divided by class, instead of all of them being thrown into this big pool. I'd love to hear you guys' thoughts, and perhaps there's a chance someone over at BioWare could shed some light into this matter?
  17. As the title says, who is the best-looking male companion in SWTOR? Seeing all these threads dedicated to specific companions inspired me to open up a poll! The discord servers and Reddit have received it quite well (as it has gathered over 2,000 votes by now). Vote here: https://www.strawpoll.me/17678005 As of the time of this thread, Khem Val and Theron Shan are fighting for the first place! Lemme know your thoughts down below, too!
  18. Hey everyone. I've been debating these last few days with myself as to what faction would exactly use the following outfit: https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/snowtrooper/ I can't really put my finger on it. One could say it's inspired by the set that the Stormtroopers used in the OT, but both the Republic and the Empire utilize fully geared soldiers. Any help with this?
  19. So, I decided to use a credit card to buy one month of subscription time. I'm always scared of these things, so I canceled the subscription right after, thinking it would be as instant as PayPal so that I wouldn't have to worry about a new charge by the end of the month. The thing is, the subscription plan didn't move on... so I decided to go through the process again and didn't do anything else. I received the complimentary cartel coins and my account holds the Subscriber status in-game. However, the website is still stuck at "Your play time will be renewing soon" and still shows the date where it'll be billed (which is still today). I just hope everything goes alright and I don't end up being charging twice for one month... or confuse the system and get myself banned? What am I doing wrong; how long should I wait?
  20. Lana Beniko was first introduced in the "Shadow of Revan" expansion. From what I could find online, her looks were poorly received by the community. During KOTFE's development, Lana went through a major overhaul but ended up being changed alongside Senya when KOTET hit the shelves. And just recently they added yet another overhaul (this time optional) to her character. I'm just curious as to why this was the case. You can compare them down below: https://i.imgur.com/VgLNRrP.jpg
  21. I guess you haven't played The Elder Scrolls Online or Guild Wars 2 then. They can flow you with as much e-mails as SWTOR can. Edit: At least you got a key.
  22. My guess is that they will add a few more minor chapters like they did with Oricon and the Traitor Arc before dropping the next big expansion.
  23. Usually when it comes to a MMO, I try to stick to just one main look per character. However, I couldn't help myself but do the complete opposite here on SWTOR. The ability to have several outfit slots, dye, mix-and-match several sets and the numerous cosmetic sets available only helped my immersion within the game even further. And I would like to ask you guys if you have done something similar. Usually, my first outfit of choice is tied to the prologue and it heavily depends on whether or not my character is or isn't a Force User. If it's a Force User I'll try to give him or her something that goes along the lines of a Padawan / Acolyte. When the Tython / Korriban arc is done, I'll usually stick to that Level 10-12 gear you're given after finishing that planet and change to their definitive and main look after they gain their own ship. This is their Main Outfit, and it's the one outfit these characters will use throughout most of the game. Besides from their Main Outfit, I'll usually set up other two distinctive ones: one for Tatooine and another for Hoth and Ilum. The weather and temperatures in those three planets are quite distinct from the others we get to visit, so I thought it would make sense to give my characters something that allows them to travel these landscapes accordingly. I also give them something that's rather casual for whenever they need to hide amongst the crowds or talk with their companions on the ship. My other two main outfits comes in when massive story updates take place. As soon as the Alliance is established during the events of KOTFE, I give my characters their Outlander Outfit and stick with it all the way to the Ossus arc, which then excuses something new due to the nature of the events at hand. Any other outfits are meant to be extras. They can be used for jokes, Life Day or for just one quest in particular. It varies. This kinda sums up to seven outfits per character in general.
