  1. This is a no-brainer. The whole 'console' meme is exhausting; it's been a decade already. And it'll never be as popular as the PC counterpart. It's unlikely it'll ever happen. But even if it does... I doubt it'll be shared with the PC servers. Not even Zenimax could do it for The Elder Scrolls Online. So, why not apply these simplifications to console but leave PC as it is? It's what TERA and others game did.
  2. This. Everywhere I go (Forums, Twitter, Reddit, Discord and even in-game), people are upset with these upcoming changes. It baffles the mind how the Austin team is dedicating development time and resources into something that will most likely do more harm than good to the game... when they could instead focus on fixing major bugs and issues that have been plaguing the game since launch and actually working on content that the people want to see. But no, of course not. Is Austin turning into the new ArenaNet? SWTOR will be directly competing with Final Fantasy XIV by the end of the year, and I'm sure everyone is aware of the massive hype surrounding this game right now (to the point they literally sold out on codes). Turning your back on fans and provide bad press is a huge mistake. Even ArenaNet knew this and pushed back their Guild Wars 2 expansion for 2022. God, just leave the classes as they are... Fix a few things if you have to, but don't run them into the ground for the sake of a chance that it might attract new players (spoiler: it won't).
  3. What improvements? You're bootlicking changes that will only alienate the fans even further. It's bad enough that the game will be directly competing with Final Fantasy XIV's Endwalker... And drastically changing how the classes work won't do it any good.
  4. This all still sounds terrible. How can you be so out-of-touch with your own game and fanbase? What's the point of needlessly reworking things nobody asked for and place even more work on top of what is obviously a small dev team? Why shift resources away from what actually matters? Jesus. I've been trying to keep a positive insight when it came to this game for over five years, but this will honestly end up killing the game for me.

The one we had for years really needed to be changed, and 6.0 delivered as the one we have as of right now in the live client is... let's say, fine as it is? It does its job and I haven't seen anyone complain about it. We also don't need a new huge window attached to this UI. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Please! Why place the weapons in-between armor? That's just... ugly to look at that, on top of not making much sense. Why move the AMPLIFIERS tab away? Why only show ONE window of stats when we could easily compare two just fine before? Having a bigger character window is kind of meaningless in the long run; especially when it's on a tab of PvE/PvP gear that almost nobody uses (as people generally prefer to rely on the OUTFIT DESIGNER). I really hope this is what it is: a Work-In-Progress. Some clarification on this would be most welcome, however.
  6. It seems like devs nowadays are too afraid of roadmaps. They don't have to attach dates... just let us know of what you have in mind for the year; it doesn't mean all of it will come true and we understand that. It just sucks being left in the dark pretty much everywhere MMO-related these days. LucasArts has been gone for seven years, though?

  8. Daily Login Rewards is something that has been asked by the community for a long time. It is also standard procedure for MMOs for quite a while now. It was bound to happen sooner or later.
  9. I have yet to see anyone getting in trouble for a name in SWTOR. I have, however, seen it happen a lot in Guild Wars 2 and The Elder Scrolls Online. Any sort of names related to famous people and/or characters, jokes (innuendos mostly) and such were pretty much targeted in these two games.
  10. The Steam release brought up 30,000 new players into the game (and that's being generous). The game now gets between 6,000 to 8,000 on average through Steam alone. Either way, the game sees spikes in population whenever something big related to the game or the franchise happens, and then the player count drops significantly. And this is an issue, especially when it comes to names. They all get taken, and then are made worthless because the players in charge of them won't be coming back. Funnily enough, I found out about my F2P account from 2013... that I haven't used since then. Even after all the server merges and past purges, they still had their names. I mean, this kind of thing will always be an issue in any kind of MMO. It doesn't matter there's hundreds of name generators out there, people will prefer picking cheesy and unoriginal ones over what these kinds of generators provide. I've personally had no issues in naming any of my characters because I try to keep them lore-friendly.
  11. Within the past year, I couldn't help but notice an improvement when it came to Support teams for MMOs (even amidst the pandemic). Games like TERA Online (NA), Guild Wars 2, The Elder Scrolls Online and even World of Warcraft saw some noticeable improvements... but it looks like SWTOR is still on the same boat as it was a few years ago. I had some leftover Parcels from last year's Life Day event. I decided to do the trick where I had to mail them to another character as a way to turn these items into currency. I did just that, but the items disappeared. They were not added as a currency and they're nowhere to be seen now. So, I decided to write up a ticket. It had a small summary, but I explained it quite clearly (mentioned when it happened, what characters, the amount of Parcels, etc.) And what did the representative say? He told me to mail the Parcels to another character and then closed down the ticket? Wut. Do these people even read what is sent to them anymore? Out of a dozen tickets I've written to the Support team over the past four years, only two were ever solved... because I had to spend over 30€ in phone bills and because I had to nag them over the issue for weeks on end. Has anyone been experiencing this as well?

  14. The whole concept of compensation in a MMO has been dead for a few years now. Not even ESO or GW2 do that anymore. TERA used to do it quite a lot but has also dropped the whole thing. I doubt SWTOR is gonna stray from this.

  16. Perhaps I should have elaborated on that more. I'm by no means stating that SWTOR's support is flawless. If you want to get anything done, you're better off calling them as many of the people in charge of responding back to the players via e-mail are not fully affiliated with EA/BioWare (most likely outsourced) and have little knowledge when it comes to English--pretty much like Origin handles things. It's a very "hit or miss" kind of scenario and results will vary depending on the kind of agent you get. Guild Wars 2's support just has a really bad track record. One can hope support for SWTOR never goes down that path.
  17. That's what you get for being unoriginal with character names, I guess? I'm not sure what to say here as I see these kinds of problems across all MMOs (even those that have done said "purges" a lot before). The game itself has its own name generator and there's hundreds of those online. I've been playing for four years and never had issues with names. I even found out about my F2P account from 2013 and it still has the same names as back then.
  18. Be glad this isn't ArenaNet (Guild Wars 2) or you could end up waiting up to one month for a single reply, or get your ticket closed without any sort of warning.

  21. I've been using the app version of the game's SK ever since I started playing in 2016. I had a lot of issues with this app, namely it needing to be reset quite a few items in order for a solid connection to be made. There was also a time it was constantly crashing. A few months ago I managed to get my hands on a working physical Security Key (thanks to a CE order) and it hasn't given me any issues. My only problem with it is that the screen doesn't light up in the dark, but otherwise it's just a fine collectible to have. The battery will "supposedly" last me more five years. Has anyone else used both items or would like to voice their opinions on each?
