  1. lol, the very definition of only hearing what you wan to hear........you took a single word out of the entire post and go AH HA! Everyone needs to take a step back from posting, maybe a day or two. Right people are going out of their minds.
  2. Your welcome Seriously though any one thinking this wasn't going to get the nerf bat needs to learn to read. When a statement from the devs has adjust in the post...........how long have you been playing games to not know what that means? Last game I played before this was SWG, I have a sensitivity to knowing when a nerf is approaching but Eric pretty much flat out said its going to get nerfed.
  3. They are only unfun now because they screwed up releasing it as the golden goose. Before they made the slot machine available I was always sad I was NEVER going to get enough rep to buy the cool stuff from this pack. Now I can. If that is all that dropped from it, it would have been AMAZING still. But they screwed up and made it the do all machine that threw up money on you. Now it sucks......but it doesn't, just compared to what it was it seems that way.
  4. Anyone buying that thinking it was going to remain as is was being ignorant. I purchased a crate KNOWING it wasn't to last more than a week (thought it would have been patched by Friday actually). Funny how I never even won a slot machine in my packs and I opened 26 of them. I had to buy it from the GTN for a couple mill, ended up buying three. Should we all start asking for refunds when we don't get what we want from the packs? Haven't people been complaining about this since they introduced cartel coins? You really think they would refund you anything? Heck they might send you a jawa gram but that's about it.
  5. but that's the whole point to the change in drop rates. They DONT want you to have access to a constant stream of mats through means that have nothing to do with crew skills. My guess is they saw crew skills being run drop to nearly zero this week. If they did what you suggest it fixes nothing with the crew skills being worthless. This "fix" is all about the fact the crew skills were broken with the slot machine and instead of "fixing" missions they just took back the slot winnings. Not saying which way is/would have been better but at least crew skills have some kind of use now. The certs being nerfed though......don't understand that unless they were really afraid of people not buying packs anymore for the certs. That's all I can think of.
  6. If there were even a few hundred people that spammed 3 slot machines at the same time like I did, you won't ever have to worry about certs ever again. I got about 450 certs. The amount of purple/green/blue junk was unreal but the certs is what I'm amazed at. The real pain from this slot machine will be in the form of no one buying the packs because they have enough certs for the next year or two. But seriously anyone could have seen the nerf bat coming a mile away. The only thing I thought was a litter wrong was the fact they said they were looking at the jawa drops only, they never said anything about the certs. Nerfing the certs so they cost a million to acquire is pretty significant (not to mention the amount of time waisted at the slots). But we always ask for small steps when nerfing but I think the bean counters went ape **** when they saw the amount of certs/mats flooding into the game via the slot machine. unfortunately someone thought of the drop rates while on the toilet playing candy crush and this is what we get a week later.
  7. They reviewed the impact it had in the game and came to the conclusion that it was not what they wanted. Be happy we had a week getting a buffet of mats and certs nearly for free. Now back to reality......you can't seriously be surprised it was changed. Maybe surprised it was changed so drastically but not surprised that it was changed.
  8. I believe they have metrics and they know what is going on even if no one else does. They knew exactly how many mats were being generated as well as how many credits were being used to produce them. As well as the certificates (personally I have over 400 certs right now, all from the slot machine). So they would have looked at all of this whether there was a thousand people complaining or 1 person complaining. You seriously think they make these changes based on complaints from the forum? I don't remember anyone saying make the machine drops so bad only an addicted lunatic would use the thing.
  9. I think it was a combination of things, but the certs being reduced makes sense to them. They still WANT you to buy packs. If everyone can get certs and rep with ease at low cost, I'll bet that scared the bean counters. The drop rate being reduced to .5% on an jawa drops may be a little overboard. I played over 3k coins yesterday and had over 6 stacks of green/blue junk and 3-4 stacks of purple. It needed a nerf but now they are kind of contradicting themselves when they said this was intended to an opportunity for more mats to be injected since the crew missions were doing such a horrible job (which is why prices were so high). If anything they were probably looking at the drop rate of running crew missions and how long it takes to critical. Then knocked the slot machine rate down below that. Probably goes to show you how crappy running missions are lol. What they should do is just install a slot timer so someone can't run three at once, make the cool down 20-30 seconds, drop rate should be a hard 2-3%. And for gods sake drop the cost of rolling the slots now, raising the cost while removing basically any incentive to roll means no one will ever use it. Let them invest in the time of pulling a slot and get maybe 1-2 purple mats over an hour. That is what should have happened. You can control the use in other ways while still making it worthwhile to use it.
  10. Tonight I aquired nearly two stacks of green jawa parts in one hour of playing slots. This was all bank because I only played the slots to get the purple mats. So why would I run a 3.5k mission to get 8u, which takes 40 mins to run. The slots removed the need to have any crew skills outside of crafting. This is what you people seem to not be able to comprehend. i lose credits when I run missions right now because there is no cost to acquiring green mats for me. And to the original poster, it boils down to the slots replaced a part of the game it was NEVER intended to do. It's obvious from Eric the devs were concerned about the high prices of end game gear BUT they were not prepared to replace basically the entire crafting system.
  11. Nonsense....... I am currently running 2k coins per hour with having three slot machines surrounding me. So basically I was getting 25 jaw a junk every 10 mins. In that hour of grinding I would accumulate two stacks of green/blue junk. Yet you still have people defending it, hear no evil see no evil. I'm not saying that is you but the complaints against the machine were legit. Had nothing to do with whales protecting their credits, it's about the fundamental concepts in the game were at risk.......meaning no one would run another mission outside of the few people who can't do math.
  12. Where does it say they are nerfing the drop rate for certificates?
  13. yes a complete waist, I have over 300 certs......yeah what could I possible get for those.
  14. Bottom line no matter what side you are on, this change has made crafting boring. It forces all crafters to sit in front of a slot machine to get their mats. And no there is NO reason to run ANY missions, which is my biggest gripe about this change. I've seen people say you still need to run missions for green/blue because it's better than doing the slot machine for them.........do you people understand the slot machine is a do it all machine right? As you are rolling for the purple mats you get twice the green/blue mats at the same time. Here are some numbers to chomp on: 3 slot machines run at the time means you have no gating timer on the machines, you can hit about 40-45 coins a minute. 40 coins per min over 35 min = 1400 coins. Drop rate of Green/Blue roughly 12-14%. 1400 * .12 = 168 greens, 168 blues Current mission to get 8 green ONLY = 35 mins @3k+ cost Say you have all companions run all the missions available for scavaging. 8+6+4+2 = 20 greens after 35 mins @ roughly 10k (someone can get the real numbers, I dont' have time to even open the mission menu anymore) so in 35 mins you can get 20 greens at 1k each or run the slot machine for the same amount of time and get 168 greens for free because you are running the slot machine for the purple. Who in their right mind would run missions EVER. It's a waist of credits and time to even set up your people on missions when you can get one toon surrounded by three slot machines and just click once every 1.5 seconds.
  15. I'll remember this when they nerf it. My guess is all the people saying go find another game will be the whiney I hate this game they cater blah, blah, blah. It's kind of hard to be positive when you level 8 other toons to max level, grind max affection for EVERY companion, unlock crafting legacy for everyone, to just have it completely nullified with one item. I mean I've heard of going a different direction but 3.0 isn't even 2 months old! I refuse to believe the devs are that incompetent. My guess is there wasn't a lot of thought put into implementation of the slot machine in the current enviroment, rather they just focused on the idea (which is was a great idea, just poorly implemented).
  16. You have no idea what you are talking about and these conversations are beginning to get ridiculous. The Devs don't NEED to guess at anything which appears to be what you are doing when calculating the advantages of the slot machine. They know exactly what the slot machine can do and is doing. Just the fact you said you can run missions on 24 toons 24 hours a day LOL. All you people realize you don't just press one button and everything is done right? It's not like a slot machine. To compare what I can do with my three slot machines that surround me in an hour to the crew skills, lets just say I couldn't produce that in a WEEK. Nice try, but I actually have played the slot machine and craft/gather. Again, the devs have real numbers of what the machine is doing so you can stop feigning ignorance.
  17. How does this lower overall credits in the economy? Advanced Armoring 36 sells for 10k on the GTN when I checked yesterday compared to 80-90 before the slot machine. That means the GTN tax is taking LESS money from people. Couple this with the fact I don't have to run missions anymore which was yet another a much greater credit sink than pulling the slots. Either way you look at it, the machine gives too much for too little and removes the need to even run any crew missions. No point in getting max affection either. Overall, the devs decided to dumb the game down in one pull of a slot machine.
  18. Just to give you some real numbers: I have three slot machines surrounding me with the vendor to sell the coins within reach. The cool down to hit the slot machine is about 1.5 seconds or around there from what I've noticed. I can go through 40 coins per min. That means in the 25 mins you've been running around hoping someone else isn't there with you taking the spawn I've just gone through 1k of coins. Now 3hrs later..........over 7k coins. Do you know how many purple, green, blue mats I have now. It's RIDICULOUS. over 1k purple. Oh and the cartel certificates, over 200. No matter what numbers you attempt to throw out there to make it seem like the slot machine is within balance, it is not. The actual numbers prove it. Just because I have to spend 800k overall (this number is based on selling back the excess rep items) to get 2k purple mats, 3k green/blue doesn't mean it isn't a better option than what you do. The slot machine is faster and 100% assured. At this point they should leave it in. Because they are fooling themselves thinking the market is done. I'd rather them introduce all new craft able material at this point because there is no way to fix any of this. Let the slot machine stay, let end game gear go down 5k each piece like everyone appears to want.
  19. LOL People have no sense how a free market works. It's only value is that which the customer places on it. I price my wares at the LOWEST price on the GTN. If it didn't sale, guess what......I would lower the price until it did. Until it STOPS selling the price is never going to go down. Do you guys now understand? And all this talk about how "whales" control the mats..........am I missing something? I didn't realize "we" locked everyone out from running missions. The thing gating you from getting the same mats is willingness to level your crew skills and run missions.
  20. Point taken. Then I want a Ultimate Comm slot machine, PVP reward slot machine, Ops slot machine. See, I don't have time to do all those things so I just want them handed to me.
  21. I have three slot machines and get in the middle of them. I literally cycle through so fast I go through 1k coins in less than an hour. I've won over 1.5k jawa junk and I don't even do this until my kids go to bed at night, for an hour. Who tested this slot machine again? At this point I won't ever have to run a gathering mission ever again. It won't even matter if they nerf the machine or boost the gathering missions, at this point there is NO POINT to run any gathering missions outside of hearing treek scream as I log in. Oh and on my server there is 36 Armoring for 10k..........................oh come on. That's how ridiculous this is. All those people saying it's the pack horders with their old jawa junk that did this......just shut up. Since they pretty much buchered crafting I hope the devs make their way around to kill off other parts of the game, say PVP. PVP coms, ultimate coms, and the PVP rancor as the top prize for the next slot machine. Let's just give everyone 196 gear PVE gear, 196 PVP gear, and the mount of their choice when they get to level 10. This appears to be where we are headed. And Eric, if I was serious about grinding the slot machine I could easily get 10k of purple mats. "Have fun".....after seeing advanced 36 armoring for less than 10k I have to say all the fun left me.
  22. Actually since the slot machines came out I have yet to receive one email..............wonder what they are doing ha.
  23. I have 8 stacks of green/blue jawa parts, that's after selling the rep items to get 65% of the cost for the coins covered and the multiple purple mats. Please stop trying to compare the crew skills with the slot machine. They DONT come close. So you say it's comparable because I can get about 100 green mats while doing dallies and earning maybe 100k in payout for said dailies while at the same time you do the slot machine. Who do think comes out on top? Are you seriously making this arguement after some got 2k in purple mats alone in the past two days
  24. Yeah kind if like saying people will get bored eventually and then proceed to say you aquired 2k in mats.
