  1. I've personally made 30 million since the 3.0 with just making Advanced 186 rated Relics. Focus on the ones that give +Primary or Power for 6 seconds. Literally is all I was making for a bit because it was so lucrative. Of course you have to have some extra toons to run Gem missions. Oh and this was one heck of a old post to resurrect.....from 2012
  2. And what you fail to understand is the JJ drop rate was the most obvious. People didn't realize how easy it was to get certs as well. I mentioned it but it was lost in the mats dropping like crazy. Fact: by the end of one week I had 400 certs. There was no way in hell that was going to remain. What would be the point if the certs dropped in that amount? You may as well just do away with the certs and just have a straight credit cost from the vendor rep. But see, they don't want to do that. The certs have always been a rare drop from packs. Why would they gut another reason to buy the packs? The change had to be made. Honestly, the drop rate is closer to what you would have to pay for packs on the GTN to get a cert. Usually a cert drops about once per 5 packs for me. My cost for a crate is about 5 mill when I buy it. That's 208k per pack, roughly 1 million credits to get 1 cert. Isn't that what the current drop rate is for the slot machine right now?
  3. agreed. It didn't break the economy since it was only a week, it took maybe 3-4 days and prices recovered to where they probably would have been after releasing grade 11 mats on the jawa vendor. Long term it would have been a disaster if the drop rates remained the same (and I mean both in mats and in certs.......the cert rate drop was ludicrous considering it was a rare drop in packs and they dropped like candy from that machine)
  4. Marjority = the same 12 people posting about it on the forums? Most of my guild members as of the beginning of this week didn't know what the slot was lol.
  5. I hear that.....after they gave me the slot machine for a week and the mats from the jawa, I went from under a million on myh artificer to 20 million. At one point I was spitting out 25 relics a run, but noticed flooding the market may not be the best idea
  6. I literally spit my drink out when reading this comment. So serious............
  7. why am I reminded of that Steven Segal movie, above the law or something. I always thought it would be a little difficult to remove gear from this so if they didn't do it I'm sure there is pretty good reason why. Either way, with the slot machine, lag/bugs, and this exploit the whole patch has been a cluster. It might be a good idea for them to just start working on the next 210 rated gear lol.
  8. With the prices falling fast on mods I'm not surprised. You had a lot of people try to cash in on the slot mats, flooding the market. Prices cratered for some mods. Heck relics were going for less than 50k on my server lol. I remember seeing armoring for 10k. Why would you waist your time with crafting when you could do ops or dailies for more credits per hour at that point? Sort of how you would see a job that pays half of what it used to...... more than likely you go look for a different job, no?
  9. So to make money in this game we are ONLY supposed run missions according to you. Crafting isn't the "right" way to make money ? So you think it's a good idea to force everyone to play the game your way? You don't see any problems with that ?
  10. Certificates will never go back to the drop rate they were. I won over 400 in that week. You may as well do away with certificates altogether if they are going to have them drop at that rate.
  11. yeah, the credit farmers have no life. They are the only ones that could ruin a cap on chips per day. Originally I thought this is what they were going to do......put a hard cap on the number rolls you can get at the slots per day BY LEGACY. Of course as the poster has suggested, they completely flipped out when they saw their internal numbers of how many certs and mats were acquired in a single week. They had to put the hammer down quick, that is understandable but now they have time to review it a hard cap per day is actually much easier to regulate (if you take credit farmers out of the equation). Maybe the only way to regulate the credit farmers is putting a cap on how much each slot can be pulled overall (so the cap will be no the slot, not your character). That's probably the only way something like the poster wants will work.
  12. Agreed, barrels have a higher rate of return right now than relics. I couldn't believe how fast the decline in relics have been but barrels are a better return on investment, for me anyways.
  13. Glad I saved 50 of those missions btw, this was a stealth fix? why not announce the adjustment in the notes
  14. they were All the cries of slot machine and I didn't even try them. What are the new drops amounts? I a **** load of missions because I stopped running them after I saw it cost over 5k to run a mission that gave me to 2 more green mats than the rich mission for 2k less cost.
  15. Here is the fundamental flaw in this argument, just because a handful of people post rants on the forum does not mean a majority of the people playing the game feel the same way. It's pretty simple, if a good number of people unsubscribe this week......I'll bet they listen then (kind of like when I played SWG, when people unsubscribed in mass over NGE....they flat out were apologizing and admitted they were wrong). Until that happens, this is all just background noise. Most of my guild members didn't even know what the slot machine was until I mentioned it was getting nerfed last Friday........so saying the majority without having any facts to base that conclusion on means the devs are setting /ignore to the forum. This forum is like it's own world.....people forget in the grand scheme of things we make up a very small percent of the overall pie.
  16. To be honest, the choice to nerf the slot machine was based on the subscribers and cartel pack buyers. 1) The slot machine removed the need to be a subscriber to be an effective crafter. I know I would have gone to preferred status if the slot machine remained. 2) The slot machine remove the need to buy cartel packs for certificates. Before the slot machine the ONLY way to get cartel certificates was through the packs. So remove, it's just one more incentive NOT to buy the packs. Even right now when I get a cert from a pack it doesn't mean as much since I got 400 certs alone from that week with the slots. If the drops remained........they are no longer worth spit. As much as you guys think they "tricked you", come on. From the first day this thing released it was spammed all over this forum that the slots were going to be nerfed. When the only thing slowing me down from the slots was the 1.5 second global cool down (I had three slots surrounding me) it was ridiculous how fast I amassed mats and certs. And people keep clinging to that statement by Eric saying that it was working as intended.........but ignored the fact that they are reviewing the drop rates because the numbers we were reporting made it obvious that either it was too generous or the crew mission skills were being removed from the game for the slot machine. They gave you their answer, after looking at the numbers they came to the conclusion (like the people FIRST REPORTING the drop rates said) that the drops needed to be reduced. Now the focus at first was on Mats but I knew the certs were going to get nerfed. I had 400 in a week of playing the slots a couple hours a day......you really thought that was going stand when it was rare drop in packs to begin with?
  17. But they just released Patch 3.0. They coded the crew mission return rates (which are low) based on their own design of the combat changes (I'm assuming). Saying just increase the crew mission skills to a more uber return rate of the slot machine was something they were not prepared to do. It sounds easy but you are not designing the game. A real solution would have been to allow only 10 pulls of the slot machine a day per toon. Easy, that means probably 1 mat a day on average. But my guess is no would go for that either, people just want to so spam that machine while they watch a movie. That's why they are not going to do anything. The devs screwed up no doubt, but I give them credit for at least TRYING to give us something cool. If they just would have had these drop rates from the beginning most people would still love the machine......I mean maxing out rep on a pack that you can't buy anymore or if you can on the GTN it's 400k+ per pack. Then you no longer have to buy packs by themselves to get a chance for a certificate, you could get one to drop in a pack about 30% of the time (at least that was my recent drop rate). The amount you spend on the slots now to get a certificate is actually pretty close to how much you would have to spend on packs to get a certificate. Either way, it's no changing. All we can do is try to give them ideas on the next slot machine because this one is done.
  18. Since Patch 3.0, Lockbox missions for Treasure Hunting is worthless run. When you look at the cost and the drop rate of worthless schematics that give you maybe 1k back of your nearly 4k mission cost.......yeah worthless. I've not had one drop modded armor like I used to at 450 missions. Either way the mats for Gem missions is really the only way to go. It's just sad to see so many things that don't work for crew missions. The consumable missions for instance are horrible compared to the 450 ones and what they provided.
  19. ROFL, see this is why I don't take you people seriously. A few dozen which equates to 24u of purple jawa per hypercrate you say. Which means you are saying 1/3 packs gives you jawa junk. Fact, you get one drop of mats (if you get mats) per pack. So you only get 3, that is THREE, jawa junk which btw is the most rare drop of the mats. The chances of you getting the jawa compared to the blue/green is low. There are times where I didn't even get a Jawa Junk drop in the entire crate. So actually prove me that I just happen to be the unluckiest person in the world. I've opened over a hundred packs recently and I had 30u of Jawa Junk before the slot machine. I know this because the junk had absolutely no use to me but it was only 30u anyways. So my drop rate being about 10% compared to your 33%.....something is really off. My guess is my drop rate is more in line to reality.
  20. ^^^^this. The fact you can get rep on a pack that cost before the slot was around 400-500k on my server AND still get certificates for the price of what a single pack would cost, the slot machine works great!! If they had at these drop rates it would have been an awesome addition. But the devs release it in God mode and now people can't or won't come back to reality. I only fear that the same 12 people asking for the slot drop rates back will make the devs hesitate on bringing more slots for other reps.
  21. Sure, no need to make millions. The Rancor only cost 15 million off the GTN. The new ultra rare mount Savanna whatever is 10-15 mill on my server. One piece of the Revan armor was going for over a million.......no reason to have money? How much does buying a pack off the GTN cost? A crate is usually between 4-6 million on my server. No need to make millions But yeah, you should shoot for poverty that way all you get to buy is that brawler armor set for 10 credits off the GTN. I only started gaining millions after this new patch because I finally had my setup complete (8 toons fully leveled with all companions max affection, all legacy crafting unlocked, ect....). I put in a TON of effort/time in getting that all done. Why are you guys so worried about how I play the game if I'm not exploiting anything? I actually enjoy making credits and being a crafter, surprisingly I can give my guild all the stuff I don't want from the packs I've been purchasing and throw in armor/mods/augments/ect.. at the same time. The by product of it all is, yes I'm making lots of credits. So what's your point? I should shoot to be paid less for my work?
  22. Two Points: On average I would get maybe 9 Jawa junk for ever Crate I opened, that's every 24 packs. To say you acquired 20 or more stacks, wow. What does that come out to, 4800 individual packs you opened? You sir are the exception and not the rule. Not everyone had that amount of jawa junk so your point that some how a few people who spend their paychecks on cartel coins is somehow going to unbalance anything is laughable. I acquired 2k of purple mats BYMYSELF in the week this was live. Considering I could only play when I get home from work and after my kids are in bed, my time was limited to maybe 2-3 hrs a day. That's all I did for during that time. No matter what you think, my weeks worth of clicking just equaled your 4800 packs you purchased. Does that seem balanced?
  23. Short of a public flogging I don't think any of the whiners would be satisfied. They've already said sorry at that public event. Does everyone want the apology in blood?
