  1. Louder does not equate to everyone. I said since Wed the moment I got a slot machine I don't have run any missions which is upsetting. It's dumbed down crafting even more to the point you just need a slot machine for all gathering. Congrats to all those who thought it was too difficult but I think those of us who enjoyed how it was have the right to complain about making my 8 toons with max affection worthless for crafting
  2. The guy just admitted he made 2k mats in 2-3 days. Your "boredom" argument........lol. This is silly to even argue. There are bots. or do what I did yesterday and watch tv with your finger on the button. You guys are getting desperate, boredom lol.
  3. What? People have been complaint about the drops from the crew missions. I can tell you for a fact just last week I stated treasure hunting lockbox missions are worthless. Let's not forget all the purple consumable missions from slicing that were horrible before and now no one I. There right mind would run anything. Seriously who is going to waste money that gives you less mats at a much higher cost and 10 times the amount of investment in time.
  4. Ok......what does that have to with my comment? I was correcting someone whe. They said everything was being looked at. How guy funny, you are the poster child of what's wrong with this machine. 2k mats in a couple days.....you realize how long it would have taken me to get that amount before the slot machine? Months....no wonder you guys are tryin to defend these drops. By the time they nerf it you'll have 10k in mats lol.
  5. I've never seen 22 or 23% listed. It's always been 15-18%, which is what I see with max affection and correct companion. It takes about 1k of our money (after the reduction of the junk you sell back to the vendor is calculated) to get 1 mat. So it's not only 20 times more effective than crew missions, you are talking mins to get it from the slot while 40-50 mins per mission (sometimes three hours if you run the consumable missions) from the crew missions. Which means to get a purple mat prior took a day rather than a min.
  6. oh really, here is the exact quote: "With that being said, we do hear the concern from many of you around the effects of the Jawa Junk’s drop rate on the economy. We are going to take a look at it and make changes accordingly. I will let you know once I know more. In the meantime, have fun!" He doesn't mention ANYTHING about rep items or certificates. The Jawa Junk's drop rate to the economy is the only thing he says they will take a look at and make changes based on their findings.
  7. yep, according to Eric they are only going to adjust the jawa junk drop. everything else appears to be working as they wanted.
  8. I keep reading how great the "slot machine" credit sink is for the economy. Does no one forget about all the crew missions that are never going to be run again? To get purple mats before you had to run missions that cost 3.5-4k (and in alot of cases 5k for the purple consumable missions). The numbers say the critical chance to get 2-3 mats is around 15%. That means you are spending somewhere in the range of 24-30k to get those 2-3 mats. Crew missions are a thing of the past so that removes a pretty big credit sink. So using the argument that this is a wonderful credit sink even though you make back 2/3 of the cost by selling the junk to the vendor is just laughable.
  9. So you can't afford to level a toon to be your own gather or crafter? Are you saying we bought our way to success? This new combat change has been out for two months and people are whining about the prices. It's called supply and demand people, it was very hard to get the mats and people willing to pay MORE get it first. Sorry, this is how the world works. It's not like everyone went out looking to "steal" your money. People with more credits can pay. When they stop paying, guess what......the prices fall. What you guys want is an instant win button for no work.
  10. Until you realize that all those gathering missions people HAD to run to get purple mats are a thing of the past. 15-18% critical on a mission that costs 3-4k to run. That is an effective credit sink. Think about it, the results of this change is pretty clear since noone in their right mind would run missions right now.
  11. Small credit sink, yes. Overall though it has removed the need for doing any gathering missions which I can assure is a MUCH bigger credit sink than the slot machine is currently. So net effect IMO the rate of credits being removed has been reduced with the slot machine.
  12. wow I feel kind of lucky then, I got all the mounts including the Vorantikus. Put him up on the GTN for 15 mill this morning before leaving for work. I only opened 26 packs, normally I don't pay money anymore but I wanted one of those slot machines (didn't win a single one, had to buy it for 2 mill).
  13. The only thing I see them doing is bringing the average cost per purple mat won with the slot machine into balance with the gathering missions. Right now with all the stuff you can sell from the slot machine it's below 200 credits per coin. It's going to be pretty hard to balance gathering missions against that. Jawajunk needs to be in balance with the gathering missions, plain and simple.
  14. I don't know about getting harder, actually it got easier. I'm making just as much if not more than I was before the slot machine. I just have to make more items, which is now possible when I can get 100 mats in a couple hours while I'm watching TV lol. Long term however I'm not sure where we end up but the devs response seems to point to them lowering the drop rate of jawajunk which is good. I've probably made over 50 million since Revan went live but the last two days alone I've made 3 million in sales.
  15. Your Cert drop rate seems to be too small. I've only purchased about 10 stacks of coins, which is 1000 coins. As of last night I had 41 certs. That's about a 4% drop rate isn't it? Or am I just lucky and have to play another 1000 for it to all flush out. I do know at one point I got 3 certs in 15 tries lol
  16. Obviously this was intended, he said so in his post. Breaking the economy is questionable. IF you said breaking gathering missions, that I completely agree with. And yes, they want you to buy the packs.......they probably snorted when reading that.
  17. Well when he said they are going to look at the drop rate and adjust them accordingly, I assume that means they will be reduced and not increased. It appears for the weekend at least we are good to go but the drop rate is going to come down. At least he said drop rate and not complete removal.
  18. Greed? It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Trust me, I worked retail as a store manager and as a product manager. The market/customers set the price. You think I wanted to sell relics for 400k when the patch launched? That was the going price and people were BUYING it. It had nothing to do with greed. That's like saying selling rancors for 15m is just a bunch of greedy people, no there is supply/demand. Little supply high demand = things are going to cost a lot. I'm not out to cheat people, I have spent 80% of my in game time crafting since the patch went live. It's how I choose to play. Now you are saying I'm being greedy for selling stuff to people that buy it? You make it seem like you are forced to buy these products, you are not. You can make them yourself.....but as you said it's a lot of work, you'd rather play the game another way. Therefore SOMEONE has to do the work you are not willing to do, unfortunately that means you are at the mercy of the market. If someone thinks augments are worth 150k, guess what you are going to have to pay that or wait. Now today, I'm selling my relics the cheapest on GTN (80k). Not because I feel for the little man, but because that's the going rate.
  19. Cool, thanks for the response. It's nice to see that the drop rate for the purple mats will be adjusted. They don't need to be removed but a drop rate consistent on what you get from running hour long gathering missions is needed. I guess that means the drop rate for the rep items is exactly what they wanted, that's pretty cool. Here is to hoping you add more slot machines for the other rep items from other packs as well. Now I can prepare myself for a weekend of spamming my slot machine non-stop
  20. LOL, I have adapted already. I make more money in less time right at this moment. However now it's boring and I look at all the waisted effort of actually leveling toons and getting max affection. Instead of running dallies I was doing that, so yes it's like they spit in my face by making gathering missions completely useless. But hey as you said, adapt. I'll make my money no doubt, problem is the long term affects no one really knows. Pretty soon everyone is going to have 186 gear (and I mean it's going to happen quickly) so I'm not sure if that was BioWare's intention. If it was, just remove the gathering missions and be done with it.
  21. You would actually make a good point if the cost was so horridly lopsided for the cost of the coins. The coin cost is actually less 250 after you include all the vendor items you sell that you don't need. So once you account for all the "free" tokens you win + vendor items, gathering missions can't compete. I run dailies too, the fact I can spend 1 hr doing dailies and then 1 hr on the slot machine and get more than I would running missions all WEEK at a higher price......yeah your argument is valid
  22. Hey bro, I was just making sure you UNDERSTOOD what it takes to do real crafting. It's a big time investment if you are really crafting on a daily basis. You can play the game anyway you want, I'm not forcing you to do anything. I'm just pointing out your belief that crafters have an easy button is the most uneducated thing I've read from this whole slot machine discussion. If it was as easy as you make it out to be, EVERYONE would have been doing it. The fact people complained about the high prices, if it's as easy as clicking a few buttons and waking up in the morning....why are there so many whiners about buying from crafters?
  23. haha, you obviously don't do a lot of crafting do you? Selling stuff for 70k that took 4k to gather? You do realize the drop rate of purple mats are about 15% right? Try multiplying that 4k number by 5 and that's probably a more realistic number. Not to mention the investment in our TIME. You say it's all just clicking and doing nothing to get results. Guess what, I go through 9 toons to run specific missions. It takes me 30-40 mins to cycle through ALL of them. By the time I'm finished usually the first toon is done with his missions. It is a lot of work, so much so that actually di dnot have time to do dailies and such. But I found that I enjoyed crafting more than I thought I would. Now all that time wasted leveling 9 toons to at least 56 to run max companions on missions, max out affection on ALL companions for all 9 toons, buy the legacy crafting for most of the toons, ect..... All that is now worthless because you only need a slot machine to do it.....and do it much better.
  24. For those that think this isn't a big deal with removing the mission credit sinks, I wouldn't be so sure. No i don't have exact numbers but I can tell you this, I spent easily more than a mill a week running missions constantly. Considering the drop rate of purprle mats was only 15-18%, you can see that is a pretty significant credit drain on my side. Now I spend a fraction for those coins. Heck the cost of the coins, I make so much credits selling the stuff back to the vendor on what I don't need the credit drain is less than half of what it really is. I'm going to actually look at it closer one of these days because I've sold over 200 rep items and hundreds of worthless droid parts back to the vendor to cover a lot of the cost it took to buy the coins to run the slot in the first place.
  25. Heck I didn't spend a single dollar getting the my rep on the new packs, I just buy them from the GTN when they go down in price after three weeks. At one point I was buying the last pack for 115k per. I DID work hard for the credits to pay for that but I did not use real money. You really don't have to spend money on this game (for the packs anyways) if you really don't want to. Just make sure you have a method for making a lot of credits.
