  1. god dam. I'm starting to understand trolls if this is the type of response people give even after I've already admitted I was wrong and uninformed.
  2. There's something helpful. I missed this change and was wrong. You could have just said that in the first place. "Guard: Crowd control effects that break on damage will no longer break from damage redirected through Guard. For example, a blinded guarder will no longer be broken out of the blind from damage dealt to a guarded target within guard range Guard: Effects that are triggered through dealing damage which affect a target who is guarded will no longer also affect the guarder."
  3. Tank guards teammate. Tank gets whirlwinded. Teammate gets attacked. Half of the damage gets redirected to the tank through guard. The whirlwind on the tank breaks because the tank took damage. That's my understanding, but apparently I don't have a clue about game mechanics. If I'm wrong somewhere in there, I wanna know where.

  5. If you attack a Guarded player, their tank takes half the damage. Whirlwind is supposed to break on any damage. I don't see what's wrong here.

  7. there is a major expansion coming late this year- 3.0. new level cap, continuation of the story from korriban and tython, new ops, new fps.
  8. just story mode. i barely squeaked by the first phase of the final boss, but other than that, the rest of it was really easy. I don't think I could do it on HM just because of that phase.

As far as the hardest content I could clear solo, I'm not sure. I'm sure I could do Kaon, but I wouldn't even want to try Lost Island. EDIT: this actually made me want to go try Lost Island. I got to the final boss. It's taking me several tries to get a strat down for the first phase. I'll post a video when I clear it.

  12. This right here speaks volumes about the way people view tanks. Tanks are not meant to do damage. Tanks are meant to TAKE and REDUCE incoming damage. I don't care in the least for trying to do large amounts of damage- that's what every video game is. The beauty of mmo tanking - for me - is that it is totally different from the same old "do enough damage to kill the enemy before it can kill you" tactic in every other kind of game. In swtor pvp, tanks have exactly one way to guarantee that they will TAKE damage - guarding someone. Tanks have exactly one way to guarantee that they will REDUCE incoming damage - taunting DPS. Flat out nerfing guard would be destroying one of the only two jobs a tank has (aside from the wz-specific objectives that everyone else has). I've never seen a tank call for a flat 25% reduction to the output of ALL DPS classes. The one job of DPS - doing enough damage to kill the enemy before it can kill them - can be done with AoE's. The job of the tank to TAKE damage can only be done with a single target in PvP. If anything, tanks should get some sort of a temporary AoE guard with a ~45s cooldown that transfers incoming damage from allies within a certain radius - on top of the current single-target guard. A tank must actively decide on one target to guard at a time, to TAKE some of their incoming damage. A DPS must actively decide on one target at a time to damage (apart from the times that they can use AoE's, when there is absolutely nothing a tank can do to take any more of that damage than he already was from his single guarded target). Choosing who to guard takes no less thought than a DPS choosing who to damage. Suggesting that this should have a cooldown for tanks would be just as absurd as suggesting that this should have a cooldown for DPS. To anyone who thinks the damage transference (which does NOT reduce damage in any way) from guard should be nerfed, please PLEASE play a tank in pvp. Do this with the mindset that your entire job is to TAKE and REDUCE incoming damage. You will be shocked at how useless you feel until you learn where, when, and how to use guard - especially in arenas. It's not a mindless process to do it effectively as you might think. The counter to guard is simple. Play a tank and learn how to guard effectively- then go back to your DPS and force enemy tanks to guard INeffectively. This is exactly how to counter any DPS or healing class- play it until you understand when and how to shut it down. If you play a Carnage Marauder, you will learn when to stun them to prevent them from using their Gore window. If you play a Sorc Healer, you will learn to interrupt their biggest heals when they've popped Recklessness. You have to do this for any spec for any role to be effective in pvp. -- For the record, I have a Sage healer at valor 65, a Jugg tank at valor 60, a Sin tank at valor 60, and a Marauder at valor 60.

    stuck running/turning

    I've had this problem in several WZ's and in the two Dread Operations. I simply mash my movement keys and my jump button for several seconds and the problem usually goes away... hope that helps.
  14. If the tile doesn't even get removed, the fight is just a relay race.... Hope that isn't the case when it's live.

The four recurring ideas in this thread are Capture the Flag King of the Hill New maps of the existing gametypes NPC-based objectives I love all four of these ideas, and I'll share my thoughts on them. 1. Capture the Flag. Needs to be true to the classic Capture the Flag formula- each team has a flag planted near the team's spawn/base. Choose either to defend your own flag or to go capture the enemy's flag. Should have a 3-dimensional layout near the bases so that ranged DPS can employ various defensive tactics. Should have close-quarter paths to the bases so that melee DPS can rip through to the enemy base- LoS'ing the defenders until they are near the base. ---------------------- 2. King of the Hill. Should probably have at least two hills, so that the entirety of both teams aren't all within 10 meters of each other- otherwise AoE spec's would vastly overpower single-target specs. Points every second for every player in the hill. Points for killing enemies in the hill. My major concern is that abilities like Force Pull, Grapple, Force Push, Overload, etc. will be abused. One Sorc should not be able to remove all 8 enemy players from the hill with one Overload. ---------------------- 3. New maps of existing gametypes. We're getting a new Huttball map, so everyone naturally wants a new map for the others. Balmorra Civil War, Voidstar-style WZ set in a Belsavis prison, Novare Coast set on Hoth, etc. ---------------------- 4. NPC-based objectives. Like a combination of LoL and Smite. Each team has a Champion (Malgus or Satele Shan), and two elites (Sith or Jedi). Each team spawns on opposite sides of the map, connected by three paths- a central, main path and two smaller side paths. In the center of each path is an objective- holocrons, turrets, or what-have-you. Your Champion and Elites can do significant damage to the holocrons in the middle but only fair damage to enemy players. You must protect your NPC's so that they can push their way to the objectives in the middle and do the most damage to them. Players have the choice of either protecting their NPC's from enemy players and enemy NPC's, or attacking enemy players and NPC's. When NPC's are at the objectives, they will do less damage to the objectives if they have to attack and defend themselves from enemy players/NPC's in the area. If the area is clear, the NPC's will do tremendous damage to the objectives. Players can also attack the objectives, but will do much less damage to them than the NPC's will. There are also weak minions for each team that try to kill opposing NPC's that can actually be taunted and tanked. Actually now that I think about it, the Champion and Elites should be able to be taunted and tanked.
  16. Combine this with the ever-popular idea of multi-person mounts, and you've got a whole new way to make money in swtor. Pay people to actually be taxi drivers.
  17. Also, class specific missions for class specific mounts. BH's tracking down and killing another bounty hunter to steal his jetpack. Sith capturing and taming their own Tuk'ata Jedi undergoing trials to learn to levitate Troopers acquiring enemy walker tech ...whatever Smugglers and Agents do..

  19. PvP'ers at least used to have all of the awesome looking armor sets. Then they removed ALL requirements from War Hero rated gear- they didn't even put a valor requirement in the place of the rating requirement. Now they're starting to put skimpy versions of the Battlemaster gear on the CM. I decided to grind to valor 60 on my Juggernaut just so I could wear the spiky armor- then it was released about two weeks later. Wait two or three Cartel Packs and I guarantee that we'll have skimpy Dread Master (Inquisitor Battlemaster) robes and skimpy Consular Battlemaster robes- which I also decided to grind to valor 60 to wear. I literally would have never even started PvP'ing if I could have worn those gear sets. I imagine the frustration over this mount is in this same vein. I'm certainly not going to PvP to get it when I can just get it reskinned from operations that I'm going to do anyway.
