completely invalid analogy. when retail stores do this, it is with the thief's consent and generally done in exchange for not prosecuting. the stores cant just take someones picture and post it with the title of shoplifter without the persons consent; the company themselves would then be open for a lawsuit. and the posting is not done primarily to shame, its to decrease the likelihood of the thief returning to the store (and potentially being successful at subsequent attempts to steal) through the threat of prosecution if they return and embarrassment. companies do not want thieves in their stores, but they also dont want to prosecute in many cases. prosecution takes man hours of employees that the companies dont want to have to deal with or pay for. the company gets nothing in return, especially if the thief was caught and the goods returned. even if the goods were not returned, the company is unlikely to get restitution in a timely manner and just writes off the loss. the only way this would be analogous is if the game company was threatening to legally prosecute those who exploited, and the exploiters then agreed to have their names/pictures/whatever posted in exchange for not prosecuting. somehow, i dont see bw trying to legally prosecute, therefore they have no stick to entice exploiters to take the carrot of public shaming.

we came up against the new tyrans mechanic today while in a 16SM DP pug, and worked it out and downed him =) ok so that doesnt seem so impressive, but for a pug we are pretty proud of ourselves =) in the end we only had two deaths during the fight. tyrans now puts a debuff on you after you get simplification. you are "Marked for death. Only the power of the Dread Masters can remove it." or something to that effect. this debuff ticks down for maybe 5-8 seconds, then insta kills you. Defeated by [Charactername] with Simplification (0 damage) to remove the debuff, you have to use the transporter on the lower floor. as soon as simplification is on you, run to the middle hole and drop down, and then use the transporter immediately. if you do it before the simplification circle closes in on you, you wont lose floor tiles either. this is trickiest for tanks but as long as you swap during the simp cast you should have enough time to get back up before you need to swap again. i told the raid i'd post their names, as we think it was a world first to figure out the mechanic and kill the new tyrans =) Harbinger raid members: Chokoon, Ashavir, Ahrelia, Bitme, Markusaurelius, Earnestbunbury, Ta'feek, Loia, Lincy, Cptkangaroo, Breadcrums, Thongn, Fearwalkin, Rukmi, Ringo, Galez

fight is easily doable, altho he seems to hit harder now too. we killed him anyway with his new mechanic =) with a pug no less.

trying to do a dp run on Harbinger this morning after 2.7 and tyrans has a new special mechanic! when he puts simplification on someone, after the tile falls the person is killed by the simplification. the death message is: Defeated by [Charactername] with Simplification (0 damage) pretty hard to kill him when you lose someone every time they get simplification

i q for pvp the second i hit lvl 10 =) its also the best way to keep your valor rank as high as possible. its pretty much impossible to catch up before you hit 50 if your valor rank falls significantly behind. ideally you hit lvl 50 and then valor rank 50 on the next kill, only way to keep ranks close is pvp often. being low level is a liability for having less abilities, however due to the bolster raising you to 49, players in the teens can do just as much damage as someone in the 40s. the players experience is usually the greater factor rather than level; a lvl 10 can rip you apart if they know how to play.
