  1. I'm not sure why you're such a proponent of homogenizing classes even more than they've already become. Again, tanks cannot use the two utilities linked to speed increases. Shadow Stride has no minimum distance requirement, and doesn't cost a GCD. Comparing it to Storm and Leap is ridiculous because you don't have to waste time backing up, and then waste a GCD to use it. Using Shadow Stride rotationally is not abusing it. That's simply how the devs decided to make it. The old Force Speed worked fine on its own. I don't want the Sniper roll, or a Mad Dash, or a leap. The thing that made our mobility unique in the first place is what I want back.
  2. Playing a giant lumbering wall standing around getting punched in the face is what Juggernauts are for. It used to be considered a good thing when different classes played differently. Assassin tanks have always been the class for working through or around mechanics, rather than just taking them to the face with your pick of one of a million DCD's. If Kinetic Acceleration was in the skillful tier, and not masterful, then it might be used by PvE tanks in some fights. Having uncontrollable speed fluctuations is not ideal, even if they are somewhat regular. You cannot use Motion Control as a PvE tank for any kind of meaningful mobility. If you are using Force Cloak, you aren't tanking. There are some fringe cases where Force Cloak is useful as a tank to break mechanics, but never for mobility. Shadow Stride is horrifically buggy. Even if it did land you next to your target as consistently as Force Leap does, it was just further homogenization between Juggs and Sins when they added it. I didn't like it when it was added, and I still don't. The other two tanks have leaps, and it was good when we were different. I'd happily give back Shadow Stride to be able to quickly move exactly where and when I want with Force Speed and Phase Walk. But since we're already going to be losing an entire mobility ability, we should get our old Force Speed CD back so we don't have to rely on utilities that we either can't afford to take or simply can't use and an ability (which I can't remember really anyone asking for in the first place) that's a 50/50 gamble that we'll get thrown into the air or simply go no where at all.
  3. Cool. Couldn't find a website for you guys, so over the weekends should I just ask in Fleet chat if anyone from your guild is on?
  4. Tanks need mobility. Stop taking it away. At LEAST give tanks back the old Force Speed cooldown if you're going to be set in this ridiculous decision.
  5. I need all five of the World Bosses, 12 of the HMFP's, but only Karagga and Operator IX out of the ops bosses. Price is negotiable.
  6. I'm getting an endless loadscreen as soon as the game starts.
  7. A "compromise" would be that the packs would give BoL boxes that say what's inside. So you open the pack and see that you got a BoL box with Lower Sith Recluse whatever, you mail/legacy bank that box over to the character that you want, open the BoL box and get character-bound armor. But it should all have just been bound-to-legacy in the first place.
  8. Numerical ratings so far. (Rating:number of votes) 11:1 10:5 9:1 8:4 7:4 6:7 5:4 4:1 3:4 2:13 1:12 0.3:1 0.05:1 0:24 -1:1 -10:8 -11:1 -100:2 --5000:1 -1,000,000:1 -1,000,000,000,000:1 -899,999,999,999,999,999,997:1 --- 42.9% of the current 98 votes are values below the bounds of the OP's actual rating scale. 55.1% of the current 98 votes are 1/10 or below. More than half were the worst score possible or lower. 68.3% of the current 98 votes are 2/10 or below. 77.6% of the current 98 votes are 5/10 or below. Only counting the (somewhat arbitrary) values between -11 and 11, the average score is 1.504 and the median score is 1. There's some metrics for you.
  9. This is an excellent first step. Now make at least two of them unlock automatically for subscribers.
  10. In its current iteration, 0/10. If they expanded the maximum character slots per server past 40 (and gave those extra slots for free) so that I could actually participate in the event without deleting any of my characters or doing this event on a server where none of my friends are, then I'd give it a solid 2/10. No new content, merely the same thing that I've been doing over and over anyway since TOS/Ravagers- even AFTER taking an extended break from the game.
  11. You missed the part where I said I had been continuing to do the same thing ever since, except in tediously slight variations.
  12. LOL so you'd be fine with a guy (who was just hired) instantly earning more than you, for doing work that was relevant 4 years ago that you already finished when it was relevant and got no bonuses of the sort that were given to the new guy simply for redoing this work NOW.
  13. And what if some new guy comes in, and does the exact work that you've been doing for 4 years (and I mean- the EXACT work. He literally copies your 2012 expense reports and turns them in). And your boss gives HIM a raise over what you're getting, and gives you nothing. And then your boss says, "Well, YOU'RE not turning in a 2012 expense report right NOW." And you say, "Yeah, because I already did that. 4 years ago- and in tedious variations every year since." And he says, "Yeah, well you're not doing it NOW."
  14. I have 40 toons on the Ebon Hawk. I will not delete any of them. I will not level on some other server where none of my friends are. The point of this event is that the devs are either unable or unwilling to actually make new content for the game, and they hope that people will be convinced that they're actually doing new content when they're doing old content with a character that has a new icon by their name in the character selection screen. I have already done all of the content this new event has to offer. I have already done all of the activities that would merit the rewards given in this event. These are similar. Father's day: you get appreciation for the work and dedication it takes to be a father. But only if you become a father RIGHT NOW. I don't care if you were a single father of 3 who lost all of his kids in an horrific house-fire after devoting all of your time, money, and love towards them for years- you're not being a father NOW. We're not making you be a father NOW but we're not going to give you the recognition of those who are doing it NOW, even if it means doing it AGAIN for NO OTHER REASON THAN GETTING THE SPECIAL ATTENTION ON FATHER'S DAY. (BTW, if you already have the highest number of kids that you can handle, in order to get the recognition you deserve on father's day, you need to immediately kill some of your current children- not all of them, mind you- and immediately sire new ones.) Applying for a job: well, you have a good resume and a lot of recent experience at different jobs. But since you're not doing any of those jobs RIGHT NOW we're not going to consider you for this job. I don't care that you've already done those jobs- they don't count. Car insurance: Well, I see you've been a safe driver for 5 years. Our fine print states that if you will be a safe driver for 5 years, you get a discount on a policy. But those 5 years you already spent don't count, and you have to spend another 5 years starting NOW.
  15. "F-ck anyone that already has 40 characters that they won't delete"
  16. I have 40 toons already on my home server. I'm not deleting any of them, and I'm not going to level elsewhere. I won't even consider doing this event with anything less than 8 free additional server slots.
  17. title, pretty much. Or decrease the height of each companion slot in the window so that the first 6 fit in the current window height- there's a lot of dead space there anyway. did a search and this didn't come up, sorry if this has been posted before
  18. I refer to Force Cloak and Cloaking Screen/Disappearing Act as "stealthing-out" - in case there's any confusion. How to stealth-cheese (most) kofte scripted combats: Set companion to heals. If you are in a phase, stealth and run past all mobs to your objective. If you are shot out of stealth, simply keep running to your objective and let your comp draw all aggro- it won't die. If you can click the objective while in combat, do it and continue running past everything to your next objective. This is especially effective in Chapters XI and XIV, but most other places as well. If you have followed the instructions of the previous step, but you cannot activate your objective while in combat (because it's either a conversation, or the devs just decided to add that particular restriction to that particular objective for no particular reason), stealth-out in front of the objective and immediately click it. If it's a conversation, even if there is a group of enemies standing on top of you, you'll be thrown into the conversation and the enemies won't have time to react- they even obliviously stand there next to you during some cutscenes. If it's not a conversation, stealth-out, complete the objective, re-stealth, and continue referring to other applicable steps. If you're in a phase and your objective is to kill a specific enemy, run stealthed as far as you can to that enemy. Stealth-out when you're at it, kill it, re-stealth, and continue referring to other applicable steps. If your objective is to leave the phase (or is located outside of the phase), just run out of the phase. It doesn't matter if you have stealth or not. Once you step out of a phase, all enemies inside the phase will despawn and combat will end within a second. Alternatively- /stuck and respawn at the medcenter/area start. If you are heading into a phase, run to the entrance of the phase (no matter how many enemies you've picked up), stealth-out, enter the phase. If you have a series of objectives all outside a phase, complete as many objectives as you can in-combat before stealthing-out to get clear of all aggro'd enemies. This could be many clickable-while-in-combat objectives. If you can't click it in combat, go ahead and stealth-out. If it's a specific enemy that has to be killed, get to that enemy, stealth-out and kill it, re-stealth and continue. Use your [increases stealth level] cooldown when you have to get through enemies in a tight spot. Use speed boosts (force speed, roll, rocket boots- while stealthed) through enemies while stealthed to significantly decrease the chance of being detected, when your [increases stealth level] cooldown is not available. I even use Shadow/Phantom Stride (if a weak enemy is the closest of its group to me) while stealthed without much problem to get around faster. There are only a handful places in all of kofte (so far) that would require stealthing-out more quickly than the cooldown would allow if you strictly followed these rules. If your stealth-out is on CD and you anticipate having problems, go make a sammich or otherwise occupy yourself for a minute (this is only half joking). Stealthing-out is extremely powerful. Use it creatively. Yes, you will still get slowed and sometimes stunned doing this. But it's still much faster than fighting everything you'd end up fighting otherwise- even if you did make a sammich.
  19. In short, the character select screen could (and should) be vastly improved. I did a quick mock-up of what it could potentially be. It's cobbled together and I didn't want to spend the time to make it completely pretty, but it gets the idea across. http://i.imgur.com/HuyrZqI.png And a second for a more visible experience bar and low level stuff (some stuff is missing, i know. took a while to throw together as it was) http://i.imgur.com/jPDVDWe.png The additions from current: Sort characters by level Sort characters by recently used Sort characters by rested experience (by calculating the current percentage of accumulated rested experience out of the total possible). This is the main thing I would like to see added. Visible gear Visible stats Visible experience bar Visible alignment Visible Social Visible Valor More character buttons on the page. I fit 10 comfortably on the first (more complete) image- which would bring down the total number of pages of characters to 4 when maxed out., and evenly distributed. Other potential stuff I didn't include but should also be shown: Number of unread mail Credits Visible crew skills Visible rested experience percentage/amount Highest KOTFE chapter completion (1-16) Highest 1-50 story chapter completion (1-3) Let me know if there's anything else that should be there, or if this is a completely stupid idea. EDIT: looks like this was nothing new. Added a bunch of other peoples' ideas from other threads

    4.0 Recap

Almost completely broken patching process for a lot of players before even being able to play 4.0 4.0 Starts off by breaking the promise never to have more than a year between new operations Still nothing for PvP, but no surprise there. "Better than cross-server" Broken process of creating a level 60 character- gave level 1 characters occasionally (I don't remember how long this lasted or if it's even completely fixed yet) Broken companion mainhand requirements Lost ability to gear companions which no one asked for Companions lost unique abilities, which no one asked for Pantsless companions Broken romances The new story plays out virtually the same regardless of faction or alignment (granted it isn't over yet, but I'm really not counting on decisions actually mattering in the future either) NOTHING for class story except 2 different NPCs to fight in Chapter 2. The new grind consists of repeating content from 1.0 DOZENS of times EXTREME Changes back and forth of companion strength showed that the devs have NO idea what's going on Tank companion stats COMPLETELY bugged- no shield 'equipped' and 0 defense. Tank companion behavior broken- "fix" makes it worse Exploit in which people can duplicate Basic Comms, and thus duplicate credits, has been present since 4.0 launched and nothing has been done. Countless players angry over PvP requirement for a story companion DRAMATIC, unannounced increase to account unlock costs in collections across the board. Many players' class quests broken Blizz and Skadge conversations broken Crippling bug for many players in Chapter 7 preventing any further progress Removal of ALL equipment vendors and orange gear drops from flashpoints, etc. Comm vendors reduced down to green quality Removal of story mode flashpoints Several broken tactical flashpoints Bug in NiM operations loot that turns out to be intentional. More difficult operations drop worse gear than easier operations. Did I miss anything? I was going to stay on the forums through January (when my sub runs out) in the hope that the game could be turned back around, but after this NiM loot dev post, I'm just done. I've only stayed this long past 3.0 because it says "Star Wars" when I open the game. I'm logging onto the Ebon Hawk right now to give away all my stuff. Get it while it's hot.
  22. Who is making these decisions? What is even going on? What is reality? WHAT IS EVEN SO FAR AS TO THUSLY WHAT?
  23. What would they do as punishment? Not let them play the game anymore?
