  1. Getting from 1-60 is faster but extremely choppy. Choppy = not fun. Combat-to-combat pace is slower. Like I left off in one of those other 18 threads, we're doomed to the extremes of choppy/fast/tedious/stoptohealallthetime and slow/steady/pushpushpush. If they meant 'the feel' of the game, then it is most definitely not a lie.
  2. Right now on the Ebon Hawk, I have 11 level 65's, 3 level 61's, 9 level 60's, and then a 43, 39, 27, 26. 26. 22, 20, 2, 2. And then the free level 60 which is 65 now. Anything below level 60 was created post 4.0. The leveling process feels much more tedious now (4.0.2) than it did pre-4.0. I primarily play tanks and would normally pull 2-4 groups of enemies at once and my healer would keep me up fine. I'd rarely stop to regen at all, pre4.0. Now I can pull at most 2 groups, and still *save* time by stopping to regen. 4.0 I would still only pull 2-4 groups because anything more than that will have my companion separated from me from stuns or knockbacks or whathaveyou. Fewer quests are required to level, but at least pre-4.0 it was a smooth process. Now we're simply seeing that BW simply cannot find any kind of middle which is both smooth and not miserably grindy-feeling.
  3. This is what the entire forum war comes down to. Imagine going from one tax return to the next and having to stop after each one for no reason (like a DPS having to stop to regen after each pull). Imagine you used to be able to do multiple tax returns at once, but your boss now makes you use obsolete software so now you can't do as many at once AND you have to stop in between for no reason (like a tank who used to be able to pull multiple groups of enemies and then keep on going). People either enjoy doing more in less time or people inexplicably enjoy spending more time on the same things. No amount of arguing will change it.
  4. My money is on one more patch right before the holidays which will somehow eff things up even more and THEN not get another response until after the holidays.
  5. It's a war between 1. players who want to deliberately spend more time doing the exact same activities for absolutely no reason other than the equivocation of tedium and challenge and 2. players who want to do the same activities in less time, for the reason of... saving time.
  6. Because the healing output is so low, having to stop and regen between every single combat is pretty common. On my DPS toons I have always only pulled a group at a time and my comp has been good enough not to need to stop to regen for extended lengths of time; now I have to heal myself after pretty much every combat. On my tank toons I have (up to now) always pulled 2-4 groups at once and my healer comps have been able to keep me going, while I work my glorious tank AoE, and not have to regen afterwards. Now I can pull at most two groups and still have to regen after most. That's where the extra time, and thus the tediousness, is coming from. EDIT: the lovely individual above me beat me to it.
  7. priding yourself on enjoying tedium... interesting.
  8. No, Lana. Fire is bad, ok? NO, LANA! NO! STOP EVERYTHING YOU'RE DOING AND GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT. Now doesn't it feel better to be out of that blazing inferno, my precious little leader of a (former) Galactic Empire?
  9. How about adding a "Tedious Level" as well. Leveling Content –Tedious Level: High. I'm bored AND I have to worry about my companion wetting himself. KotFE Chapters – Tedious Level: High. Arbitrarily high health pools inflate combat time while adding basically no actual combat mechanics. [Heroic 2] Missions – Tedious Level: Transcribing the Bible from the original Hebrew. Star Fortress –Tedious Level: My Brain is Falling Out Heroic Star Fortress – Tedious Level: Players are expected to look like this while playing for extended periods “The One and Only” Achievement – Tedious Level: I Would Rather Be Solving a Crossword Puzzle. The only real challenge left in any of the listed content is simply finding a reason to continue subjecting oneself to the tedium of swtor combat, which now is dwarfed by the time it takes to heal in between combats. You exclusively used the wondrous (read: notoriously arbitrary) swtor "metrics" to bring the sledgehammer to companions in the last patch, and NOW we need to supply this information for additional changes? I think I need to seek help. I'm starting to enjoy watching these kinds of decisions being made, and not being helpful anymore whatsoever.
  10. I got a Focus on my Marauder today from a Heroic reward box thingy.
  11. What's inside the FIRST GRAND COEFFICIENT-CHANGER PACKS, Devs? In every coefficient changer pack, you get two consumable coefficient-changers. GREAT! What do they do? Apply them to your character, and for the next month a random coefficient in the game will be changed for you- ranging from a decrease between .25x to .5x and an increase between 1.5x to 2x. That's right- THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUND!™ That's right! Now you can experience what it's like to be a Bioware coder first-hand! Give one of these babies a click and you've instantly done some professional tweaking of the game itself. No need to test on the PTS, because your values will simply take effect no matter what anyone says either way! WOW! What could be affected? This could be applied to anything ranging from Endurance Mastery Your Companion's Defense Spawn-timers on open-world Heroic mobs Dev Response Times on Game-Breaking Issues Frame Rate in Warzones Patch Download Speeds Critical Rating And Even Loot Table Probabilities! The possibilities are endless. Unsatisfied with the strength of your companions? One motion of the hand could have your companion making the GSI bots look like scrap metal! Need a challenge? One adroit manipulation of your index finger and now you have an absolutely worthless companion with which you can do only the things you could have done exclusively without having your companion summoned at all. Think it's outrageous to have to do twenty Warzones to get Major Pierce? Now you could be subjected to sitting in a corner, condemning your team to lose for FORTY WARZONES for your PvE companion. Remember, you have no choice but to do it, and there's no way around it! Forty character slots per server still not enough? Risk getting double the slots for having 3/4 of your characters being permanently deleted forever*! This sounds too good to be true. How much does a pack cost? Well I'm glad you asked. Each pack costs 2000CC (which is actually 40% off of the full price which we arbitrarily generated with one of these very consumables). BUT WAIT. Every unlock has a small chance of changing the price of the packs themselves! What cost 2000CC before could now cost you 4000CC, with absolutely no warning WHATSOEVER! Can these be used to change my appearance? WELL I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED With the purchase of a GOLD COEFFICIENT-CHANGER PACK (3000CC) you also receive an RGB-hex changer ON TOP OF THE TWO CONSUMABLE COEFFICIENT-CHANGERS. RGB-hex changers will randomly select one armor piece (or if you're lucky- a MOUNT), randomly select two RGB values, and apply those values to the primary and secondary color slots of that item. Then, that newly recolored item will be placed in the Cartel Market for you to purchase for 1440CC. You can even unlock this COMPLETELY NEW MOUNT/PIECE OF ARMOR for your account for an additional 600CC**. --- *But we will probably restore your characters if you just ask nicely. But if you try to do it more than once we will definitely catch you and we will not be happy little campers. **Price subject to random change independent of player-used coefficient-changers. --- Bioware is not responsible for the misuse of coefficient-changers for the purposes of, but not limited to: having fun. Any parties found guilty of such misuse will be subject to suspension or account-termination. Bioware always knows what players find fun in video games and any opposition to this fact can simply be proven false with the mere mention of "quantitative data" or "metrics." Although players may experience the feeling of arbitrarily manifested authority over the content of the game, any and all changes have been thoroughly considered by Bioware and are not subject to further change or revocation.* *Except by Bioware should they deem fit at any point for any reason.** **Ever. :sy_auction:The First Grand Coefficient-Changer Pack:sy_auction: THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUND!™
  12. Would be a nice QOL improvement to be able to change my companion's role with a hotkey. For example, setting it so that 't' changes my comp to a tank, 'h' changes it to heals, etc.
  13. Interested to hear opinions and/or math on the new version of the Shadow's Shelter utility. Personally, I'm bummed that we just have a buff tied to our AoE taunt just like the other two tanks. And I'm no math expert, but I can't imagine that the heal and the buff could be more beneficial than the old Shadow's Shelter in any fight that lasts more than 45 seconds and doesn't have the entire raid stacked.
  14. If you completely close out of the game and go to: Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\swtor and delete the file 'DiskCacheArena', and then relaunch the game, it should work. At least it did for me when I had the problem a while back.
  15. Shadows get the icon for Wither and Assassins get the icon for Slow Time. Vanguards get a very bounty-hunter-looking Shoulder Cannon, while PT's get a shiny trooper-looking one. I'm also fairly certain that the single-target taunt animations for Guardians and Juggs are supposed to be swapped as well. It's been like this forever. I'm not sure if there are any other examples since I mainly just play the tank classes.
