  1. Strongholds I badly want to see and would pay money for, in order: 1) Rishi: A crashed and half-submerged pirate dreadnought with a fortress/cantina layout. 2) Hutta: I want my BH to own a shattered Hutt's Palace on Hutta. 3) Manaan: Small uptop area with deep underwater views filled with ocean and wildlife.
  2. What a terrible attitude. If you hit escape just because someone was watching the cutscene, you're wasting more time than if you just went through with the scene. I'd vote to kick you if you did that.
  3. If you think you're "elite" because you play SWTOR a lot, that's kind of sad. Being an elite at SWTOR is kind of like being an elite in kindergarten wiffle ball. Nothing in this game requires any skill. At all. It never did. The hardest few things in this game are some of the Ops, and those challenges are very small compared to most games out there. I have to stand -behind- the boss? Whoa! Don't stand on certain parts of the floor? SKILLZ. There is no elite class. There is only a grinder class which is somewhat whiny and entitled and as this thread has shown can have a really antisocial attitude. If you want to impress people by how well you play a game, SWTOR is probably not the game for you. Might I suggest Dark Souls or Demon Souls as two games that actually offer a challenge and require skill to play. All being a maxed out grinder shows is you have the hours a day necessary to accumulate stats and credits. That's all. Congratulations.
  4. I doubt that. If there was, this game would have gone to hell in a handbasket and shut down years ago. But selfish attitudes are a problem, and are the reason why there is so much solo content. No one wants to put up with that.
  5. I agree, and would go so far to say I think 4.0 is the best thing that ever happened to SWTOR.
  6. Humans are not selfish individuals by nature, and it's not in our DNA. Quite the opposite, our frontal lobe developed so much to deal with complex social interactions. Mammals are inherently more social than reptiles. We're evolved to be social apes who rely on each other. It's a good reason why our babies take so many years to become self-sufficient -- they rely on a multitude of others for support while lots of time and energy goes to developing that big brain which allows them to socialize. It's not a hippy fantasy world, it's the real world. Go and act in a baldfaced aggressive way at your job and let me know how it works out for you. The news is filled with chaos and violence because the news is exception-based by nature. No one is going to report on the billions of people who are moving about in mundane and happy peace. As Dymond notes, RL corrects unsocial behavior whereas MMOs largely do not. Anyways, no one should try to bully others to spacebar. There should be questions about it asked at the start of the FP, that way things can be sorted out cordially sans all caps'ing.
  7. I'd just like to point out again that MMO culture is nothing like RL, and I'm really worried if people think it is. In my plant for instance, if you went around acting without regard to your colleagues you'd be fired, put on probation, or in some sort of HR behavior program. Maybe you all work in a gladiator pit or something but the real world is no where near as uncivil as some of the people act on here, because if people acted in such rude and short ways irl they'd risk bodily or financial injury. Also @beattlebilly, you admitted that you liked to watch the FP cutscenes on your first time around. That's all I'm saying. So you can't expect them to SPACEBAR through it, and instead of shrill cries for it you should talk about it as the pug starts. There are still new people playing at =all= levels (some people don't do FPs while leveling, as I didn't, and you can't tell them they must).
  8. All capsing SPACEBAR at a new person then kicking him when they don't is probably intentionally ruining his gameplay.
  9. This is the problem with MMOs today. You should care. You're part of a social game that doesn't revolve around you.
  10. Uhhh. This isn't the real world, you know. Also, if you behaved in that selfish and uncaring way at my workplace you'd probably be fired or have to go through some kind of HR program. The real world is much more civil than MMOs, thankfully. I can understand asking to spacebar. I also think it's probably a good idea to inform people ahead of time in a pug if you don't want to spacebar, but I don't think failing to inform them (as many new people would incidentally neglect to do so) is anywhere near the same level as flooding the chat box with shrill SPACEBAR demands. If it's someone's first time or whatever, and they want to see the content, you're not entitled to have them skip it simply because you've already experienced the content. If you haven't asked at the start of the group whether or not you can spacebar, it's on you, as no one is entitled in this game to do what you want them to do. It's all about having courtesy, which some people here clearly lack.
  11. Yep. As Dymond pointed out, not all FPs are solo, and even if they were you're not entitled to enact demands on other players. Plus, this: What's stopping you from doing solo mode if you want to spacebar through everything? First, it's not my experience at all that people are polite about it initially. Usually it goes "**** SPACEBAR" followed by either a vote or constant spamming of it. Secondly, no, I won't look for a group exclusively for that. I'm not posting this on my behalf, I'm posting it because I've seen frankly disgusting behavior towards new players in regards to this during Tacticals. If nothing was prearragned, you aren't entitled to all caps bully someone into doing what you want. We must be playing two different games then, because that's how I've only ever seen it.
  12. Bai HF. I've played since founding on and off and 4.0 is the most refreshing and exciting change in the entire game's history imo. Do you remember how horrible leveling was? And companions were always OP, if you bought Treek or HK.
  13. My emphasis in bold. That simply isn't true, TX. This is precisely why FPs and Heroics have solo options now, because of that attitude. GF isn't just for people who have done the content before, and no where does it say that. There is an attitude of entitlement that needs to be addressed about this. If you want a group that spacebars through everything, you should ask for it at the start of the FP. Should someone say that they want to watch the cutscenes, you should try to find a pug more in line with you. Waiting to demand that someone skip a cutscene is having the entitled belief that even if they've never seen the cutscene before, your desire to play through the content quicker trumps their enjoyment of the initial experience. Again, not everyone has seen the content 37 or even 1 time.
  14. But many people have never seen them once and it should be expected as a possibility unless it is asked ahead of time.
  15. I'll group when I want to, thank you. Yes it's okay, because you didn't take the time to be polite and ask if they can spacebar through everything. Demanding SPACEBAR over and over like there is a house burning down somewhere and lives depends on it is quite frankly very rude. I agree that sentiment such as that is the reason why no one wants to group any longer. A lot of people want to treat group members like an extension of themselves. I could but generally people keep on about it over and over. I've seen chat boxes fill up with it. So I'd rather people not do it. If it's not agreed of ahead of time, don't expect people to spacebar just because it's being demanded in caps. No one has a right to force players to play a certain way. When you go into a Tactical or Heroic in a pug with strangers, you should go with an understanding that you may or may not have to watch all the cutscenes, because some people haven't seen the content. People shouldn't have the sense of entitlement that other players will speed through everything for their sake.
