If I want to romance Arcann, do I have to play through KOTET or can I skip it? I really don't want to play everything again.... Does completing Iokath closes KOTET or at least gives you Arcanns alliance alert? Otherwise I suppose I have to play through it again, although I really don't like the gameplay of several chapters.

I don't think we need to be worried. I guess it is just a way for BW to be able to include a little companion / LI content for those that are interested without having the need to include all possible LIs/companions in certain scenes. It would be very mean to imply more companion/LI content just to have something bad happen to this character or the relationship. I think if something might endanger a character or relationship they would give several red flags before that.

Last week I created two new characters and each got one black/black dye. Over the years I think I created around 80 characters and from those maybe 4-5 got black/black dyes, although once I got two on the same character. So I don't think they changed the odds, it just RNG.

So - I have a lot of characters and like to level them especially during the Dantooine event because it levels so fast. I played the Dantooine heroics with characters that had level 41 - 70. I never had any problems with the characters that were below level 70 because you are buffed during the event. Today I was first invited but then not welcome anymore with my level 41 in a group with 2x level 70 and 1x 60. The 70s did not want the level 60 too but I guess he/she stayed when I left. I changed then to a level 70 to get the heroics done with a different group. Most of the people on Dantooine seem to be level 70 but the event is for level 20 and higher. When I said I am buffed to 70 they just respond "but not the equipment". Sure, you have less abilities too but as I said, I did heroics with the level 41 and other characters below 70 earlier with no problem. Anyway - how do you handle if you have a low level character in your group? Or do you check before inviting the level or ask in chat only for level 70s? Because I never see that happening on my server.

Well this was hardly a fair 1 vs 1 fight - the clones were for months and years fighting loyal at the side of the jedis and when order 66 came the jedis got literally shot in the back by several clones at the same time.

Thank you - yes Ossus autocompletes Arcans alert so I am rather sure I have to do Kotet and then Iokath. Not sure if the flashpoints are needed but it is not a big deal to do them. I am currently playing a character where I skip Kotet and do directly Iokath. So far in Iokath my Theron romance is recognized and still intact.

True, I don't mind spending the money and for the cartel market certificates alone it was worth it. But it is kind of frustrating to spend hours on this rather boring event and you may still don't get the main prize companion and you don't know how much time and credits you need to spent to get it. I finally got him yesterday. It took me 6 millions credits on smuggler chips and 15 million on kingpin chips. I only played the kingpin machines with the lucky buff. And I got 10 speeders. I don't think I will participate in the event the next year, just get some new stuff (if available) from the event vendor with the certificates that I have now.

Sorry, my bad. I thought we had always in the following year the companion prize available. So I do hope they will put the Rodian next year on the event vendor but you are right, maybe they won't. But as the thread title mentions, I hope they put the main prize companions to the event vendor as soon as possible and that we don't have to wait a full year or longer to purchase it.

I know that is why I play the smuggler slot machines and don't buy the kingpin coins. And I know that there are many lucky people out there who got one or more companions in a very short time and with few credits. But there are people like me who spent hours and millions and still don't have him. This is why I think it would be less frustrating to have the companion directly at the event vendor.

Can I jump from Kotfe chapter 9 to Iokath and play the flashpoints (Copero/Umbara/Nathema) with the story cutscenes? I know that I can play the flashpoints anyway but I am asking for the story parts of the flashpoints like e.g. marrying Theron/Lana at the end. Elara/Quinn romance For Elara/Quinn I would skip Kotfe and maybe just play or start Kotet chapter 1 to get Ossus unlocked and then go straight to Iokath. Can I skip from Iokath to Ossus or do I have to play after Iokath the flashpoints (provided that they have the story cutscenes if I skip Kotfe/Kotet)? Thank you!

I am checking frequently dye prices and on Tulak Hord I didn't see any comparable price drop. And even after discounts on those dyes in the cartel market they normally don't drop that low on the GTN. At least on this server.

I had the last two days problems too - I could login but everytime I went to the community page it wasn't recognized and treated me as if I had not logged in. When I switched to my swtor or store page it would show me as logged in.

I already spent 5 million credits (only using the green smuggler chips) and haven't got the companion yet - only 4 speeders and certificates. Last year I spent 10 million and did not get the companion either. So - just because you were lucky to get the companion with 3 million credits does not mean everyone does. This is what I mean - if I spend for example 10 million credits and still don't have the companion I would at least have golden certificates that I could use to buy the companion if he was already available at the event vendor. Even if I don't have enough golden certificates - I know I can earn the missing number of certificates but compared to that I don't know if or when I would get the companion from the slot machines as I might end up with really bad luck and don't get him even with 20 millions or more.

Thank you but I know how to play the slot machines - I am doing it just like you described. But still - it is RNG and even with the lucky buff the odds aren't really good. You can get him by playing 5 minutes and with a single kingpin coin or you might end up spending 10 millions or more and several hours and still not get him. Happened to me for example last year with the Gamorean companion - I gave up then and purchased him this year. The golden certificates seem to drop frequently - yes, it is RNG too so some might get more and some less for the same credit amount/coins. But you have a higher chance to get them and I don't think people struggle much to get those certificates. If I know I need 100 certificates to get the Rodian I have a goal that I know I can achieve and I can estimate how much time/coins it will take me. But just hoping to get the main prize jackpot is more frustrating because I don't know if or when I will get it - maybe never. Anyway, I don't really need the companion, it is just nice to have. But it would make the event less frustrating and more fun for me at least. I don't know if others agree.

I know he will be available next year for direct purchase from the golden certificate vendor but it would be great if he would be added to the vendor already during this years event. Make it expensive if necessary for example 100 or 500 golden certificates. But at least then people know they can work towards the companion by collecting slowly the golden certificates but right now people with bad luck might not get him even if they spend a lot of time and credits. I just think it would be less frustrating and people would not need to wait a whole year until the companion is available for purchase.

I agree, I prefer more content but of course they should in parallel and asap fix as much bugs as possible. Even if they would fix all bugs and then roll out new content they would still break again things - it seems the coding is quite the mess and if you change on one side something the other breaks too. I do think they need more QA tests. And maybe not roll out new content before they go to a 6-8 week no response break. Instead of december it would have been better to roll out the patch already in november or even earlier so that there is more time to fix bugs and to have people over the holidays being able to enjoy the content.

Yes there aren't really enough resources there to give us meaningful content (especially romance content) with all our companions/LIs. I understand if they are moving forward and focus on new characters/companions and reduce screentime for those LIs for which we already had much content and even marriage options (such as vanilla LIs, Theron and Lana). But then they should do it equally and reduce the romance content for Lana as well and to give more screen time for the new characters and not just giving Lana everything and the rest nothing at all. They have options they don't need Lana as only quest giver. Doesn't mean that we should not hear anything from our old LIs - at least romance letters and maybe a flirt line form time to time would be nice. But to have for everyone long romance scenes is to much to hope for I am afraid.

To give a different impression maybe (don't want to convice you to use light side options just as an explanation why people might use LS options as Sith) - just because you choose a light side option does not mean your Sith wants to become a Jedi or something like that. Example would be Darth Malgus who tried to reform the empire to make it stronger by allowing aliens in the ranks - you could see it as light side option too because he did not just kill everyone he encountered but instead was working to establish alliances. The dark side option is normally the kill everyone option or being more egoistically (keeping power/assets for yourself or killing possible resources) while with the light side option it is more to support the empire by sparing valuable assets or keeping powerful items not for yourself but to give it to the empire for example. I think there is even a class mission on Corellia where Darth Vowrawn asks you to spare a person that worked for Baras because he is such a valuable asset. Sparing him is the light side option but that does not mean that you are a weak Sith showing mercy but instead that you see him as a valuable asset. Or maybe your Sith has a code of honor that would prevent him/her from killing not worthy/weakly persons. If you are LS you get at the end of the SI story line the darth imperius title and I find this appropriate because the LS options are quite often to help the empire (although I prefer the Darth Nox title ). It boils down on how you want to play your character. I personally like to choose more DS options with my Sith Inquisitor compared to my Sith Warrior because it seems to me choosing more DS options with my SW paints him/her more as psychotic kill everyone and everything but with my SI I don't get this impression. But if I want to play such a character I would use all DS options for example.

Yes with so many LIs and clearly limited ressources for this game this leads to a problem. I don't see how they want to solve this - but maybe they will take the way you suggested meaning they add new romance options and develop those further to have multiple flirts and dialog to indicate the relationship development and finally a marriage option - such as with the vanilla LIs and Theron and Lana. For existing LIs where we already have multiple flirts/marriage option they could reduce the screen presence but this should not lead to the point that we don't hear anything anymore from them. At least adding romance letters or a single flirt line from time to time would be good. What I don't want is that they force us too often to take certain companions with us or prevent us from using our favourites - such as we could not use Theron in the star fortress flashpoints. And I would not want to see a single companion such as Lana that already got so much romance content to get all the future romance content too and the other LIs nothing. This is simply not fair.

I am not against his romance I am just saying that I haven't seen anyone making forum posts or "Khem Val for LI" romance threads to ask for this. It was just meant as an example that the writers do not simply look what the people in the forum ask for but instead have their own mind about things. I read quite often posts where people say "we only got xyz because people asked for it" and I don't think this is always true - sure, people asking for stuff might get them at least thinking about it and can have an effect, but just because people ask for something doesn't mean they get it or just because no one asks for it doesn't mean we don't get it. I do like to have more options and I hope they will add romance options for Zenith, Scourge and other companions and maybe NPCs. I would love to have a proper Jonas romance or to have Talos as romance option for example. But on the other side we already have so many LIs and this game clearly only limited screentime so while I would love to see more of romance content I have no idea how they want to pull it off. I just don't want a single companion getting all the love and content and the others none of it. Yes this is the reason why I am not sure if I would approve of it or not - we are already paying for content and story and romance is a part of this game. But it is only a part of the game together with PVP, OPS, GSF and so on. And romance is only a small part of the story content. And to add romance content for all LIs it would require more ressources added to this game to work on it or to neglect other parts of this game. And while I only play for story not everyone does. And because EA/Bioware is a company and wants to make money they need a valid reason to add more resources to this game - meaning they need to see that this yields additional money for them. Which is why I think this might work - but people like me with many alts and characters for nearly every LI would need to pay a lot for this additional content and it is like opening pandoras box I think with additional story content then maybe only availble in the cartel market in the future what I don't want. With the vanilla LIs and Theron and Lana (and to a part with Koth too) we have some kind of relationship build up with several flirts and dialog and finally marriage option (this is missing for Koth and he might have less flirts compared to Theron and Lana, especially if you count pre Kotfe missions/flashpoints). The question is if they add more romance options such as for LS Jaesa or maybe for future companions should they focus on developing these romance options so that they have an equal amount of flirts with marriage option at some point and have only small romance content (such as letters, a single flirt/voice line) for existing "full" romance options or maybe not add new romances at all? I must say I do prefer to have at least a flirt line and a beginning of a romance indicated compared to having nothing at all with a character. I think at least in situations where we are in a very dangerous situation and the LI is going to say something before the mission we should have such a scene for all LIs (for example in kotet before you go and claim the throne). Not in every flashpoint/story update but at least sometimes so that we still have future romance content with our LIs. But they should add (romance) letters as much as possible. Oh this really sounds like a bug, good that it is working again for you however. I am always afraid something like this happens and we can't just go back to a previous save and while you can level a character quite fast to level 70 to play all the story content through takes quite some time and to have a character that you planned for a certain romance option being wasted is horrifying. I am planning to stay away from Ossus for now and rather play my other characters further. Hopefully next year they fix as much as possible.

There are still bugs with the new patch and story - I would recommend to not break up with Theron if you want to romance him later on or at least wait before you continue with this character. Normally if you break up with a LI you don't get a second chance with the same LI later - you might be able to romance someone else later but not the same companion. So I doubt that after a break up with Theron you can start it later - for those where this worked it is very likely a bug and I wouldn't rely on that to work when you need or want it.

Thank you for still updating and continuing the story! Even if I don't post I do read the forum frequently and always read your chapters and always look forward to read more. It is really well written.

I don't think the writers are only doing what they do based on what they read in the forum - it might give them some inspiration but I don't think it is the only reason for them to add kill options or romances. Any additional line costs them money - for voice acting, cinematic and so on. They have their own mind about these things. They added a Khem Val romance that no one asked for and I remember people asking for kill options for both Lana and Theron with the result of Theron getting one but not Lana. At the end they decide what they do. You will always have people liking a character and others being neutral about it or hating the same character. I hope we get more content with all LIs in the future - Theron is easily my favourite LI for my characters but I have for nearly every LI some character that would like some content for them too. But it is up to the writers to find a solution for this. At least adding letters can't be that much of a problem - it shouldn't cost much effort and budget to include these. Romance scenes are more costly of course but to have a solution to just focus on a single LI and neglect everyone else is not satisfaying in my opinion. There needs to be a different solution. Would you pay for romance content from the cartel market? Such as romance DLC/chapter for a LI? I am not sure I would, I mean it depends on how expensive it is and how good the quality/length. I think romance is a part of their story and should therefore be in the core game available without having to pay for it extra. It is just with so many LIs difficult to find a solution that is fair for everyone. But to be honest the LIs are the main reason for me to play different alts and to play through kotfe and kotet. Without it I would play the story once and then likely not again - especially kotfe and kotet which is one story line. Vanilla is different - I can play through it multiple times even without romancing anyone just because of the different story lines. That being said - I will wait with my imperial characters that romance Theron before I continue the story line. I need to know what is going to happen. I don't want to loose Theron because I romanced him on an imperial that stays loyal.
