  1. I am pushing up Underworld Trading on my lvl 53 chr and in 20 missions done by my crew I have had 8 or 9 orange gear recipes return on completion of the crew skill mission. But they have ALL been lvl 54 Armormech (440) recipes. This seems to have gone beyond coincidence! Is this a bug? Wouldn't be so bad if they weren't all duplicates of the same 3 or 4 recipes!
  2. Ok, so I ordered on 15th Jan and didn't get early access. Must admit I missed the pre-7th Jan cutoff small print. OK, I can live with that but.... 1. Where's my pre-order goodies (really only interested in the Hutt training holo). The update with the new content is there and I had to re-do all my skill etc. Why no pre-order benefits at all on logging in post update? I'm hoping they will arrive when the patch goes officially live or am I looking at opening a ticket? 2. They could at least try to provide useful feedback to the user in game. I went to the trainer to pick up my advanced crew skills training and clicking on the button did nothing. No feedback at all....the button just clicked and nothing happened. Worst, when I tried to go to Makeb it said "please buy the expansion to go to this planet" or something along those lines. That had me rummaging through my emails to make sure I did actually buy it!
  3. I have wondered whether it would be possible to create a pay-when-you-play game time bundle. I find the F2P too restrictive in this game but also like to dip in and out of the game depending on what my friends and I happen to fancy playing. So some weeks I'll play 'tOR most nights and other weeks (like now) we might play more WoT or STO. If I could buy a block of game time and that game time is only used up when I log into the game (i.e. first login of the day uses up 1 day of your game time whether you log in for 2 minutes or 12 hours that day), I'd go for that. There are a few reason I think the devs should consider this idea: 1) I'd probably be prepared to pay a slight premium for the flexibility...maybe the equivalent of £10 per month. 2) I'd also be prepared to buy a bigger block of time...60 or 90 days each time. 3) Probably not too difficult to implement the code as there is already a check against the subscription status of the chr when you log in etc Just a thought.
  4. But it has already been proved that the sub model didn't work for this game. So why do they think forcing people into it with a punitive F2P model will lead to a different result. If you look at my second comment on page 1, my point is that I think they are going to lose the benefits of a good F2P model which is to get the punters in and get them paying more than they would via subs. As someone said in this thread... they need to get the punters in as a starting point. Sure, they give you all the storyline for free...but really, once you've seen the storyline and how much it basically repeats itself, that F2P benefit is pretty damn thin. Actually, I expect absolutely nothing for free. I play World of Tanks...F2P but hell, I hate to think how much I have been willing to spend on that game over and above what an average monthly sub would be.
  5. But actually, I think forcing players like us to subscribe is missing a trick. I play other F2P games where, if I looked and totalled up my annual expenditure, I'm willing to bet I spend more than the average monthly sub cost across this type of game. They need to be attracting back the players and keeping them so they can then milk them. I don't think this is the way to do it.
  6. Are they actually serious about the RESTRICTIONS they have placed on the player who chooses F2P? Like many, I came back to tOR after giving up on it about 6 months post release, having been with it since BETA. I was genuinely looking forward to it going F2P and hopeful that it would now become the game it should have been. But they seem to have made F2P so ludicrously restricted that the game would be almost unplayable. Even under "preferred" status you are still pretty hamstrung.. I mean no receiving mail under F2P and under preferred you can still only send 1 attachment at a time and you can't send credits! I subbed for a month to get my cartel coins and see what the game was like now and I'm enjoying it. But I'm really not sure I'll want to carry on after that, even with preferred status. IMHO, they could do much worse than look at LotRO's F2P model. Some small changes to the F2P/Preferred status model would make all the difference.
  7. Space combat: Anyone on the dev team remember IL2-Sturmovik? If not, go find a copy or 2, get together and hop into an IL2. 2 people in the same plane, 1 pilot, 1 gunner. It was a blast! In tOR you can already invite your group mates onto your ship. Why not take it further and allow them to "man the guns"? The precedent is there in Episode IV right. Flashpoints: The levelling flashpoints are ludicrously easy. You can do them under level in bog standard gear without an issue. The bosses are, on the whole, tank-n-spank with only minor mechanics in some cases. The only exception I have come across so far is the Assassin droid in The Foundry who is a tough fight. The final boss in the Foundry is face-roll by comparison. Not sure where the logic is there? Anyway, IMO the levelling flashpoints are important. When you have been through the storyline quests once with another chr, the story does not hold much attraction any more. The flashpoints make for nice targets to aim for whilst levelling though, yet in their current state, they are no challenge at all therefore people will just ignore them. Please make the bosses a challenge in the flashpoints. I'm not saying every boss should have complicated mechanics...everyone likes a good old tank-n-spank now and again. But a good variety would be nice....something to provide a challenge each time you come in with a new chr class.
  8. Weird things happening last night when we did the Foundry and tried to take down the Assassin Droid boss: 1. At times it seemed the droid adds were continuously spawning in a relentless stream. It wasn't that we weren't killing them fast enough as on other runs, we all had time between add spawns, when he telports back to his column, to catch our breath a bit. 2. On several occasions during our attempts, the Assassin droid would not make it back into his regeneration column thingy. The target reticle would appear some place outside the column and then he would just teleport to the reticle and stand there. The column would then come down with him outside it. I still find it remarkable how hard this boss is compared to everything else in the Foundry. The final boss is a pushover by comparison and we barely broke a sweat on him! Not that I'm complaining though as it's nice to actually come across a boss that challenges you. They are way too rare in all the normal mode Flashpoints IMO.
  9. A friend has a pureblood Sith Jedi Knight and on occasion after killing a mob, his chr's eyes flare bright yellow (like the feverish stage during rakghoul infection) They glow brightly for a couple of seconds then fade. Anyone know why?
  10. Staying...why the hell not. It's the best thing to come along for a long time. And yes...I have played plenty of other MMO's over the years to be able to put my observation in context.
  11. I have the 560 Ti (448 Cores) which is basically on a par with the 570 and it has no issues at all with the game with everything on max.
  12. Is there a level restriction on purchasing the top, level 50 crystals from the vendor near the crash site? i.e., do I have to be lvl 50 to get the +41 Endurance one? I hope not.
  13. There is a +41 endurance crystal available from the current Rakghoul Plague event. Think you need 83 DNA samples. OK, it's green/black in colour but if it's the stats you want, it's pretty easy to get your hands on.
  14. Everyone has different play styles, everyone approaches an MMO in different ways. So, you're a veteran. I'm happy for you. So, you're a dad...join the club. So, you only get a couple of hours of an evening to play and you keep getting dragged afk when the kids wake up....me too. So, you got a chr to lvl 50 and a few alts to lvl "n". Great. I happen not to have done so. Do I have Legacy > 6 yea...my main has legacy 8 yet he's only lvl 47. Do Bio actively promote the creation of alts as yuo go along via the legacy system...yes. Am I any less dedicated than you? I think not. Anyway, thank you Bio for correcting this issue.
