  1. are you refering to the rather craptastic secret world mmo thats a blatant rip off of whitewolfs world of darkness setting?
  2. it was a much much higher number of lost subs, which got higher with CU and NGE.... but SWG has finaly died, the emu is projects are slowly dieing aswell. i think its time to just let a would be great game rest in piece.
  3. for a few yes, but that few is probaly the ones that have never expieranced an MMO without a group finder, had no friends to play with, no guild, and no clue how get themselves recruited or into a group. some were probaly completey new to mmos, others i would wager a much smaller percentage expieranced gamers used to how mmos work that just had bad luck.
  4. LMAO that is pretty accurate at times. how ever other times this forum is actualy a very great place.. its about half and half i would say. pretty much like any other game forum.
  5. the group finder not being implmented did not cause them to lose subs, RIFT a supperior game to wow had a group finder and they lost subs, wow did not get subs from implementing thier group finder a couple years ago. Bioware opened up the servers cause they did not have enough to accomodate the sudden influx of players during the first month, it was the right move at the time, they unfortunately opened up far to many servers. wow implemented too many servers a couple of times, but wow gave out free transfers from overpopulated servers to new servers and underpopulated servers. add to the fact the new servers wow implemented you were able to get a one time only mount from opening up the AQ raids as they were completly closed off like in vanilla alot of players flocked to the new servers just for that.
  6. it is, its the context of the statment. basicly starwars is not starwars with out smtomtroopers lightsabers and the force and its basicly saying bioware delivered on the starwars feel.
  7. hatwe to say this but SoE listening to its players is what got us the NGE which killed SWG and MXO aswell as EQ2 and DCU.
  8. last time i checked 25 percent decline was not a 50 percent decline. such simple math how could you screw that one up? nevermind its the same exact decline wow had during it's first year.
  9. here you go, Interview with metzen from wow insider. "I'm just gonna cause some shenanigans, so I'll just say that embedded in the past of Warcraft is a lot of really, really fertile ground. I don't see it as going over the same stuff. Like, not necessarily talking about SWTOR here, but just as an example, does it really feel like Star Wars if there aren't any guys in stormtrooper armor running around in one permutation or another? It's totally cool to beat on a stormtrooper, and if you rip all that out, it doesn't feel quite the same. So if you go, "Well, we did that before, it's all used and done," and just write off classic themes -- well, maybe that's a mistake? So Mists is taking Warcraft and pushing it boldly forward, and hopefully over time, a balance between legacy issues and totally new looks at the content can be met, and everything will be perfect. " this part of the interview is actualy talking about how wow always feels the same with alliance vs horde and the usualy big bad endboss raid content stuff, and Metzen compares it basicly to how SWTOR has somesort of stormtrooper for us to kill cause it would not realy capture the feel of the universe if it did not include that which is actualy praisesing bioware and the game with his comment in the interview.. only reason he said not specificly talking about tor is he could lose his job if he did not . here is the link to said interview. http://wow.joystiq.com/2012/03/19/mists-of-pandaria-chris-metzen-interview/2
  10. give me a couple of hours and i will be able to track it down for ya . was during one of the interviews they did recently about MoP.
  11. HAHA, you sure are a funny one. Bioware did exactly what they said they would do. furthermore one of the wow devs has even given Bioware praise for how good of a game Swtor is. Bioware is competing with wow the same as anyone else, they are not out to kill it, just make a profit which is exactly what they have done and will continue to do for some time to come. I swear some of you people take to many things completely out of context and let your one dimensional imaginations run completely rampant in an incohessive manner to the point that you actualy believe delusional machinations spawned from taking to much stock and placing to much faith into incomplete incomprehensible data you gleamed from other like minded individuals who also have no clue what thier oratory skills are digressing from.
  12. would love to see any of the planets listed below. Anoat - Episode V (mentioned) Ansion - Episode II (mentioned) Bespin - Episodes V and VI (added scene) Bogden - Episode II (mentioned) Boz Pity - Episode III (mentioned) Cato Neimoidia - Episode III (mentioned) Dagobah - Episodes III (deleted scene), V, and VI Dantooine - Episode IV (mentioned) Endor (moon) - Episode VI Felucia - Episode III Geonosis - Episode II Iego - Episode I (mentioned) Kamino - Episode II Kashyyyk - Episode III Kessel (giant asteroid) - Episode IV (mentioned) Malastare - Episode I (mentioned) Mustafar - Episode III Mygeeto - Episode III Naboo - Episodes I, II, III, and VI (added scene) Polis Massa (asteroid) - Episode III Saleucami - Episode III Subterrel - Episode II (mentioned) Sullust - Episode VI (mentioned) Taanab - Episode VI (mentioned) Tund - Episode I (mentioned) Utapau - Episode III Yavin - Episode IV Yavin IV (moon) - Episode IV Definetly the chiss homeworld..... Must point out, Cloud City would be non existant in SWTOR as Lando has yet to be born, build his fortune, and create the city. also i would love to see any planet from the following list i found on wookipedia realy, but primarily ones mentioned above since they have been mentioned in the films. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_planets very highly unlikely but fun anyways would be earth and here is why: The Steven Spielberg film E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial, though not released under the Star Wars banner, is a strong link between Star Wars and Earth. In the film, a small alien (dubbed "E.T.") visits Earth, and is accidentally stranded there during a mission to collect botanical samples from various planets across the galaxies. His friend, a Human boy named Elliot, shows E.T. some action figures which he names on screen as Boba Fett, "Hammerhead", Greedo, and Lando Calrissian among others. Later, E.T. mixes in with a crowd of Halloween trick or treaters on a suburban street, and encounters a human child in a Yoda costume: E.T. excitedly greets the child, saying "Home, home." The novel E.T.: The Book of the Green Planet, a sequel to E.T., establishes that E.T.'s species possesses highly advanced technology, capable of traveling not only between planets, but galaxies as well. In The Book of the Green Planet, E.T. mentions a "Former World" that his people left eons ago. In Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, three members of E.T.'s species are shown occupying one of the senatorial pods during the Senate room scene. Later Expanded Universe materials mention the planet Brodo Asogi, represented by a senator named Grebleips ("Spielberg" in reverse) who funds an extra-galactic survey. Brodo Asogi is one of the names given for E.T.'s homeworld in E.T.: The Book of the Green Planet. Soulcalibur IV, the fourth installment in the popular Namco fighting game series set primarily on sixteenth-century Earth, features guest appearances by Darth Vader, Yoda, and Galen Marek (a.k.a. Starkiller). The premise of the storylines is the war between two swords, Soul Edge and Soul Calibur, on a planet wracked by constant wars, is causing a disturbance in the Force in the Star Wars universe, so all three set out with different goals to subdue the two swords. Star Wars: Visions of the Blade, an online comic released on StarWars.com, provides further back story, featuring Astaroth, Taki and Mitsurugi from the game. In "Into the Great Unknown", a short comic story in Star Wars Tales 19, Han Solo and Chewbacca are caught in a hyperspace misjump, and are forced to land the damaged Millennium Falcon on a primitive planet. They land in a forest reminiscent of Endor, where Han is killed by the native Human inhabitants. Chewbacca survives to roam the woods. 126 years later, an archaeologist and his sidekick investigate rumors of a large beast in the forest, known to the locals as "Sasquatch". When he comes across the Falcon and Han Solo's remains, he finds them eerily familiar, as if he was there or a reincarnation of Solo. He decides to leave the remains, the spaceship, and the Sasquatch as part of the "great unknown." Though the planet Earth is not specifically named, the story obviously takes place somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, and the two archaeologists are clearly Indiana Jones and his sidekick Short Round. This explains why Dr. Jones finds Solo's remains familiar, since both characters were played by Harrison Ford on film. In the computer game Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, the Doomgiver appears to pass Earth in hyperspace.
  13. I just have to point out this game was designed with PVE in mind and story first and foremost, the pvp aspect was always meant to be a secondary thing. I love the pvp in this game, don't get me wrong, But I loved PvP in WAR untill it got screwed. The few subs that will be lost in your idea wont realy matter in the large picture. Everyone can do the PTS so its on everyone that did not bother to test thier favorite part of the game ( whether that be pvp or pve) if it dont live upto your expectations. your own fault for not testing and getting your voice heard. That being said you do have a point about the mythic guy.
  14. well there is a diffrence between the modable heavy armor and the modable light armor, put the same armoring mod from a heavy pice into the light piece and your missing about half your armor.
  15. Mr. Zoeller *** should I be punished for leaving a wz when you guys do nothing about the hackers. Instead of punishing us for leaving, punish the people cheating that makes most of us leave in the first place. when the enemy team can do stuff like this and heres a even better example the ball carrier is speed hacking, dies to the fire instant revives dies to the fire a second time instant revives again then scores. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=JEw8RvyZVPA&NR=1 and one more speedhack in huttball video for good measure, no denying this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfJ8lB2AoHk&feature=related Dont penalize WZ quiters, fix your code and get better antihacking protocols and start not just banning accounts but filing criminal and civil lawsuits agaionst these hackers, hacking is illegal.
  16. A deserter debuff wont stop people leaving, they are still going to leave and do something else during the debuff time. Can you realy blame people for leaving in the middle of a WZ with the rampant map hacks, speed hacks, teleport hacks, and infinite health, energy, force, rage, ammo, heat hacks circulating? Why should I be punished for leaving a WZ where the entire other team is hacking thier butts off and just farming my team for valor and medals?
  17. Correction WoW was the first game to do PvP gear based progression with a unique stat specific for PvP. All the mmo's before it never had any rewards for pvp other then bragging rights. PvP gear was the only real "orignal" thing created by blizzard for WoW and it has stuck with the mmo genre ever since.
  18. Speed hacking is pretty common in warzones now as is infinite energy, force, rage, heat. There is also a new hack that lets you move to anywhere on the map you choose which can be seen here. This is the map XYZ hack in action and here is the speed hack in action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lo3vDfOfhM What is bioware doing in regard to hackers and how are you fixing the issue?
  19. I am lucky to get 30 armaments in a weeek on master zhar lestin. either there are never any republic and nothing but imps out so the crates are super camped, or there are never any imps out and nothing but pubs, in which case I get camped >.>
  20. lol terra will never see light of day, it is so locked up in lawsuits started by NCSoft over IP theft for Linneage 3 it will die before it ever sees launch.
  21. actualy she did not use shatterpoint. She used absorb energy much like Darth Vader did when he blocked a blaster bolt with his hand and Corran Horn did when he abosorbed energy from a thermal pool about to erupt to save other aprentices with telekinesis and used his own lightsaber to abosorb the energy to crush a yuazhon vong with telekinessis on another occasion.
  22. well the jedi double bladed lightsaber AC (shadow i think) can tank stealth mele dps and unstealth melee and i think dot dps with the shared talent tree with sages. think of troopers as ranged paladines. will say few things are as cool as using your gun to heal a freindly target. commando with that huge as cannon just reminds me of the medic in TF2
  23. not only that but it has no repurcusions and no impact on your class story. it was just something tiny and interesting upto the mariage point then its nothing, can be achieved in a matter of minutes when you hit 50
