  1. Started doing OP's the other day and in TC I died. Without thinking of it I res'd myself before the fight was over. Once over I was able to get back in but couldnt loot and no quest update. Can I redo it this week without any problems for a new group?
  2. One thing you really need to do is compare your selling price to the cost of the mats on the gtn. If your selling your items at or below the total cost of all mats then your selling to low. In this case of coarse someone will come along and buy up your items to resell. Why would they take the time and trouble to make their own when you've done it for them?
  3. While this can be true ( depends on server and time of day ) its not an indication of low game population. There is a lot more to do besides questing on planets to level up. Flashpoints, PvP, Space missions all give good if not better exp than running planet quests. Most people who already have 1 or more alts only stay on a planet to do their class quests and then its off to other things they enjoy to level up. The only real problem with this game is once you have an alt or 2 the planet quests are always the same and get a bit boring. If you are new and want to run the planet quests join 1 of the 3 servers that have the most population. Also check your map, at the bottom right is a pull down menu that tells you how many people are in the instance of that specific planet your on. As an example, You might be on one with only 20 people and theres another with 100 people as well. To answer OP's question there is a large game population. I dont belong to a guild and have no problems finding OP's to run as pugs and in case your wondering most pugs have competent people running OP's (raids).
  4. Im glad you guys have had good experience with the CS but I agree with the OP. Ive had many problems with the game and only once have I gotten anything but the form letters stating there is nothing they can do. What gets me is that after reading the letter its obvious no one even read my problem as the response had nothing to do with what happened to me. This has happened over half a dozen times in the 4 months Ive been playing. The one time they did actually read and respond ( with a form letter yet ) they wouldnt help me with a major game problem. I needed to delete a few quests ( 25 quests max???) and deleted one that was a planet story quest. The warning message was a bit ambiguous and I didnt realize I couldnt go back and get it again. So I had to make another toon and level it up to 45, just to find out what the story was about. This is not good CS.
  5. When I first read your post I thought " Hey, you know he is right". After thinking about it for a sec though I realized why. Its a trophy, but not one he earned. Your just giving it to him. Edit: Kept reading and see someone already posted the same thought.
  6. You want a min of 8% alacrity then its willpower>power>surge (to cap) >crit. Get mk-9 augments slots and fill them with resolve (willpower, power). The only real reason you want crit is to get your resplendance buffs (you get this buff each time healing trance crits, if you spec'd for it). This buff can stack up to 3 times and each stack allows you to use your noble sacrifice without getting the debuff that slows power regeneration.

For anyone thinking of getting one of these, its the best 5 mill I spent. I have always hated going to the station because of the lag there. I dont have a newer computer and it takes me about 2 minutes to log into the station and when moving around I cant go far without my hard drive chugging away and freezing the game.
  8. HAHA I love those names, very creative.
  9. While I agree with everything else you said, this game is a bit different. Since a lot of pulls have ranged mobs spread out it can be very difficult for some tank classes to grab and hold all the mobs at once. This game if the tank can grab and hold the big mobs he is doing a good job. What a lot of dps dont seem to realize is their job is also a bit different in this game compared to other mmos. The dps need to kill all the low hit point mobs first, there by keeping them off the healer. Almost every group Ive been with at least 1 of the dps dont do this. They either target whatever mob they feel like or attack the ones being tanked. If a mob is on the tank and theres other mobs that arent, always dps the low level ones not on the tank first. If your tank isnt grabbing the big mobs tell him/her.
  10. And this is why there is a shortage of tanks. Dumb *** dps that have no clue they are doing, cause problems for the group (specifically the tank) and then blame/harass the tanks/healers for the wipe.
  11. At lvl 55 is it really worth spending 2 points into reserves for the 100 force?
  12. Go to Oricon and do the quests there. They reward you with a 6 piece set of modable armor that's a great start for Ops. Also look around for dailies that reward basic or elite coms to hand in for good armor. You can get a lot of Elites by doing the lvl 55 HM fp's. Once you start doing SM Ops you will get Ultimate coms as well from weekly missions. Also if your doing 16 man each boss drops them. These can be handed in for even better equipment.
  13. Ok, Ive tried to stay out of this but I cant anymore. You're making this statement about EA??? (Bioware isnt even a company any more). The company with one of the worse records for customer service in the world. Not to mention their being voted the worse company in America 2 years in a row. You really believe they would be honest and tell us it is broken or just deny it like all the other bugs they wont acknowledge. Why fix this one thing out of all the broken code in this game.
  14. Thats perfectly normal. Im not 100% sure about this but I think as you get higher level skill your chances of being knocked off are less. There are 3 skill levels to riding your speeder.
  15. Can anyone tell me why set focus works properly when Im in a group but wont work at all when Im in a raid? So far Ive only done 8 man (not sure if doing 16 man will work). Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to work?
  16. I would agree with you if it wasnt the same names I repeatedly see doing this. Once you could be correct, but if the same person keeps on posting the same crafted items every day at prices lower than the cost of making it, they are making mistakes. I dont really mind as I keep buying and reselling. It takes money to play at end game and Im just trying to help people have that money when they get there.
  17. True but I was thinking of a situation where the other person was way lower than the price you want to sell for. To continue my example, if the item was blue and cost 10k in mats to make our selling price would be 20k. If the current lowest price on the gtn is 12k whats the point of making the item today for a profit of 2k when you can move on to the next item on your list that will sell for your asking price. Its very situational.
  18. this is normal crappy service for this game.
  19. Hi everyone, if your reading this you're like me and enjoy crafting and selling your wares on the GTN. This in itself can be a fun and rewarding mini game within the game of SWTOR with the way of keeping score the amount of credits you make. To this end Id like to help out a few of you I keep on seeing make the same mistakes over and over again. To make money you need to know your market, our market is the older players who have a huge amount of credits built up and are working on their 2nd, 3rd or more alt. These people have tons of credits sitting around with nothing to do with it, they see credits mostly as worthless.. To them spending a couple of hundred thousand every ten levels is nothing (at 55 your repair bill on a night of raiding can easily top 100k if you have a bad night). Ive occasionally asked people why they sell items at low amounts and they normally come back with "Its to help out the newer players and give them a break" or " I'm new and this seems like a lot to me". Well I hate to burst your bubble people but most of the time the items you sell for real cheap are bought up by people like me and resold at a much higher price. Next thing people seem to do wrong is considering the cost of the materials for the items they sell. If you make assumptions about the costs of coarse your going to assume the selling price should be in line with it. Another thing knowledgeable players do is look at the gtn for people selling items at or below the actual cost of making said item, buy them up and sell them for a much higher amount. No matter what you think the cost of making an item is, "well I got those rares on a crit while getting the blues I wanted so the cost was free", its wrong. To find the cost of making an item each mat must be considered, find the average cost of that mat on the gtn. If, for example, it sells for a low of 5k and an high of 20k, I will put the cost of each at about 9k as the higher priced ones are normally trying to find someone desperate for the mat when all others sell out. You cant say the cost is 5k as that is the lowest because it wont always be the lowest price, Ive seen rare days where I can pick that mat up for 4k and weeks where it wont drop below 10k. Even the mats you gathered yourself needs to be added in to the cost of the item your making. Not only was there time involved but you can sell them by themselves as mats and make money. This may seem wrong to you when your leveling a toon ( after all your picking up the mats as you play) but as you get into the game of selling on the gtn you realize the time involved in going out to harvest is too much, you cant keep it up. You will eventually have to buy most if not all of your mats on the gtn. To continue our example, lets say we added up all the costs to make the item you want to sell and it comes out to 10k credits. If the item is blue then we can safely double the price as your selling price, if its purple we need to add in a few more thousand to make up for the RE cost of getting this recipe. The reason Ive added a few thousand for this is to get that recipe you had to RE on average 10 blues (check your recipes, that 20% drops to 10% real fast at higher levels) at a cost of 5-10k each ( Im being nice here as in the real world you would use the cost of lost sales for the item not making it) to get 1 random purple recipe, sometimes it takes 3-4 of those random recipes to get one for a salable item. Once you've done all this make sure there isn't a large amount of this item already on the gtn, make a couple and put them up at your price. If there are many of them on the gtn bypass it for now and move on to the next item. After doing this for a while you will find out what you can make and sell at a good profit for your time involved. Some things will sell very fast so even if there are a few on the gtn, at a lower price than what you want to sell for, you will still be able to sell yours at the price you want. One of the biggest mistakes Ive seen people do is get a new recipe and immediately flood the market with that item. Its a waste of materials and time. Last thing to consider when selling items is if you want to undercut people or not. If you do you will sell more but: you will get a much lower profit per item and it creates more work for yourself at less earnings. However you go about running your little business the idea is to have fun and hopefully Ive helped you out to make a better profit.
  20. I just returned to the game recently myself and went from 40-55 as a Sorc healer and had no trouble at all questing. Use khem as your companion and make sure you both are up to date on your equipment. It doesnt have to be purples, blues are more than enough. If your rich and/or like spending money get yourself a Treek companion. She is a tank or healer depending on the mode you put her in and in my opinion a better tank than khem as she doesnt aoe your cc's.
  21. As am I, at most I wait 5 minutes. The only exception to this has been since I hit 55 it is hard to find a group for a non HM fp. Is this what you are experiencing? If so go get your 66 gear (its fairly painless and fast to do) and run HM fp's. In some cases its insta fp, others I wait maybe 5 minutes.
  22. Hi everyone, I'm a returning player who has hit 55 and gotten my 66 gear. I'm from the west coast of Canada and work nights, Ive always found the best people to raid with for any mmo Ive played are from the Australia,New Zealand area. Not only does this fit my time schedule but Ive found them to be very friendly people. I'm open tho, if you raid starting around 1am PST or raid Thur,Fri, Sat I am available all night on those days. I play a Sith Sorcerer so if you need heals I'm your man. I haven't done any raiding in this game yet so don't expect me to know the fights but I learn fast and with a day or so notice will spend some time watching videos. I'm looking to fill a position not be on someones standby list and wait for a turn.
  23. What with this boss? Tried running it today, got our asses handed to us. OK read a few guides and learned how the fight works. Tried it again, hit boss a couple of times hardly did any damage, throws grenade,we all run to station, run back to boss. Hit him a couple more times, almost no damage to him, throws grenade, we run to station, adds come out. Kill adds, throws grenade,we run to station, then the same cycle repeats itself. This kept on happening over and over again. Some times, even though we all ran to the same station it happened so fast there wasnt a station up. We couldnt do any damage to him cause we never got a chance to hit him. How are you supposed to do this boss??
  24. Are you playing in window mode? If so make sure the window is open all the way. Ive never had my exp bar disappear but my legacy bar (the one below it) will get cut out all the time if my window isnt open all the way.
