  1. So allowing everyone to read my login name is security? I have an e-mail address I use EXCLUSIVELY for SWTOR, this because that is the safest way, people needing to aquire both in some way to gain access. It also tells me when BW/EA pull the same crap another company did with account information (Still getting bogus and possibly real spam from that company that sold my account after 1 year when I cancelled the entire account). So no, this does not make things more secure. Not buying any claims of steps being taken to make it more secure again, you're showing people who we are, half the player chosen login information. I also use a security key, so that gives me some security, but telling the whole world my login name does not provide more security as they now need less to gain access. Don't have 100% faith in the security key as it is, but now I NEED it in case someone makes a really lucky password guess. Used to be they needed a really lucky e-mail guess as well, they can already skip those now. There should at least be a login name and a display name as 2 fields, allowed to be the same, but not advised to. Using that login name over the display name and then not allowing e-mail address is the only way to give some security in the way you appearantly intend it. Used to say E-mail or Display name for free players and just E-mail for subscribers I think. Not sure what the reason behind that was, but I feel that was way better.
  2. Checked today to see my preferred payment method ( iDEAL ) now does work for the 60 day non-recurring but not for the recurring ones, so my interest in this has just increased a lot. Would be nice if I just had to extend it once a year instead of every few months. And it would be nice to get some more Cartel Coins with it.
  3. You'd think the scammers focus on the lower levels, even though they still send scam mails to level 50s
  4. They could give subscribers 1 free legacy bound version and put a bind on equip version in the cartel market. If they did that with the Life Day things there would have been much less whining. And subscribers that would want a 2nd or 3rd set would still buy it. Right now subscribers feel cheated especially with the life day milking.
  5. Buying credits from the market is a bad idea. And it doesn't mean creditscammers stop as they can just undersell the market. Are people so lazy they can't just buy things for CC to sell for credits? All you need is a little (un)common sense. Best thing to do is report them all and not buy and whenever there's a rise in adverisements make sure to teach people that buying has many risks, reaching from IG unstable economies, more advertisements, people getting scammed (not getting what they buy), stolen accounts, all the way to credit card fraud & identity theft. Basically the moment you visit their sites you risk getting malicious programs, an up to date virus scanner is no guaranteed protection! If you unite the people on your server, then it's possible to reduce the advertising to a minimum, but as long as there are people willing to buy we'll keep getting those mails. Free to play doesn't help here.
  6. Not everyone is able or willing to buy recurring subscriptions, especially with certain issues in payment that BW/EA are having, but that's a different and long thread in the customer support section. To keep it short, there have been issues I had myself to which I send a ticket (#7504850) and after that called customer support (ticket # 7647282), result saying it was on their end. I also mentioned in there that for my preferred payment method I can understand if the recurring subscriptions may be more difficult to realize, but that the non-recurring should still work (hope that will soon). And that brings us to this suggestion, for one another company has more than once repeatedly charged the same accounts for the same subscription, the ease with which that happened can very easilly make people distrust recurring subscriptions, but there can be alternatives. Another reason for alternatives is that people who might not want a recurring subscription will not get the same amount of cartel coins or any discount. There already are the recurring subscriptions: 1 month - 500 CC / month - 12.99€ / month 3 months - 550 CC / month - 11.99€ / month 6 months - 600 CC / month - 10.99€ / month And the non-recurring subscription of: 2 months - 525 CC / month - 13.49€ / month If you compare that one to the 1 month recurring it would be logical to add the following as non-recurring, but not saying these have to be the advantages exactly, just that those would make sense from a logic standpoint. 6 months - 575 CC / month - 12.49€ / month 12 months - 625 CC / month - 11.49€ / month Especially a 1 year non-recurring sub would be interesting as you'd basically just need to renew once a year, say on your birthday or around the new year holiday season. Interested to hear what people think of that.
  7. I'm up for a legacy wide pretty much everything. Maybe add some legacy perks in there for it, give it a higher legacy level requirement & some credits, or just hard CC, then everyone has a choice, even those opposed. Currently on legacy 50, and dreading the return of legacy XP gain which may come with the expansion, it's just so useless past level 10 or 12, and especially after 25!
  8. What I was thinking was that they should put in some legacy features for this. I was thinking 2 slots/10 legacy levels would be nice, or 1 for evert 5. It would reduce the uselessness of the legacy system beyond level 10 or so, and after level 25 I think you CAN get everything in there, so the levels after that are wasted. Not to mention the likely legacy level cap increase with the expansion... really don't want to see the legacy XP gain messages return for that useless feature. May be good to add a subscriber requirement in there so non-subscribers have to use CC for them. Currently have 1 free slot and saving that one for a Cathar, but so many character ideas in my head and we can't even make one of each advanced class on each faction.
  9. I hear that so much lately that I am doubting they really misclicked and just greed-needed. Had one of those recently when doing one with a friend and 2 randoms. At least he wasn't really free (I'm guessing he was preferred and not a subscriber). A damage in tank stance (making my and my friend's jobs a LOT harder) needed on something my friend was the only one who needed it and he got it. We managed to get him to give the item to my friend, then we proceeded by vote-kicking him. Ofcourse he also jumped into fights first and refused to listen, so it wasn't just the needing that made us want him gone. It's the only way some people may learn, but doubtful they will.
  10. I know what you mean, I think free players can't use legacy items though, and the packs are disigned to make all players buy them. That said I wouldn't mind legacy based item packs, the items become much more attracive if they are lagacy bound. Or maybe BW can sell items in the cartel market that can be used to convert cartel items into legacy items (maybe with an added "subscriber only" requirement if they so desire).
  11. There are no hard rules, and then would you want customer service to spand more time on those and less on more important issues? Not that I'm too impressed with support at this time, but still making them waste more time playing mommies and daddies won't benefit the game long term. It's an issue we have to sort out as players, and the general rule of thumb is that need means it's a direct improvement for your character. The best example of handling the situation I can give: I was playing a Juggernaut tank and a piece I needed dropped, and ofcourse a sniper or sorcerer or something other damage (not a warrior) rolled need and got it ofcourse. So I asked him to give it to me cause it was a need for me and his character had no use for it (was already having the bind timers when this happened). He ignored me or made stupid comments that he needed it for companion or whatnot, or even said he wanted to sell it (with it being bound), so I put him on ignore. I then proceeded waiting for the item to be given to me, so that person had to give it to another group member who gave it to me, then we continued, but I didn't take him off my ignore list, so I never grouped with him again (so far), at least won't on that character. So perhaps he learned how to behave, or perhaps he's on a lot of ignore lists now or even left. I do have to say this has gotten a LOT worse since "free to play", making it more important to teach people uncommon sense (I just can't call it that common). If I was a free to player i'd try to break the stereotype, but a LOT are just confirming it. At the end of the day the ignore list is your friend, too bad it doesn't work with warzones.
  12. At least good to know you don't call this an event and there will still be events. It doesn't help subscribers though. These items you can buy are too expensive to assume subscribers have the coins for them. To get them us subscribers first have to buy more coins. The point of subscribing is to not have to buy anything more. I thought about buying a few coins and setting up a six month subscription to get more coins, but can't do either. My preferred (and only one I want to use) payment method keeps giving me the same message over and over: "An error has occurred while trying to process your request. Please, try again later." for several days now. So I am really unable to do anything now.
  13. Yeah, I thought bioware said they didn't want subscribers to miss out, that they'd get everything with their subscription... If we go and call this an event it's only for people that buy (additional) coins, it's an insult to subscribers and past events. I think I recall BioWare even saying there'd be more events? If they mean this is what they mean with that it's a bad sign. What's next? Candy cane lightsabers & blasters? Well, we're already going there with the new crystals, free to play is starting to ruin it for sure.
  14. As a subscriber I am restricted in this unless I buy cartel coins. Having to buy cartel coins or miss out is not what making sure subscribers don't miss out is about. Not saying I want to get those items for free, but there could at least have been an event that gives subscribers a chance to buy the item with in game activities! I think it's an insult to subscribers and past events.
  15. Yeah, I agree those colours look UGLY. Don't want to use pink-purple for lightsaber, Don't think white looks good either but feels better... Pink-purple and Yellow-orange are there with the Black-cores, should never have been added. Should only be used in blasters, the only place they might look nice in. It's that sort of crap people were afraid of when the free to play was announced, that and the free to play kiddies that just think about themselves (welcome kickvote & ignore list, I use you so much now)... At least I don't see much credit scamming on the server I'm on, but the few we saw got kicked down by the community by mass reporting, other servers aren't as lucky I hear. The legacy perks were reduced to a joke long before the free to play, but free to play made it even worse. Used to be that you needed high legacy levels for some things... I think with legacy 12 you can now already get everything. I'm at legacy 46 or 47 now, don't know when i last cared about my legacy level, only know it was already useless to work on it getting higher at that time. Really need new legacy things, preferably starting with free unlocks for higher legacy levels, just add in a "subscriber or Cartel requirement" because they want it to be sold for real money anyway and subscribers already pay.
  16. Yeah, especially the huge lowrider type speeders parked INSIDE the PvP mission terminal, turn-in box AND both merchants at the SAME time. Should start reporting them all to the point where speeders are disabled on the fleet altogether. Don't care speeding to the right section, but then at least dismount to give people some room. And yeah, stupid names have increased a lot, and yes, don't count on them to read the forums. Best try to reach them, then report them. I once talked to someone with a non-RPish name, he wasn't happy with the name choice himself and after some talk with several people he send in a ticket to request a namechange... I think it worked.
  17. When there is a lot of gibberish in general chat I may do 2 things. I ask people to please use English in public channels, telling that for guild/party I don't care as that's to be agreed with the people using it. I go to my RP tab I defined on my characters, which I use when I want to RP, turning the global public channels off (say is still on). The first usually doesn't work, but on occasion it seems to. In fact when I try to be polite and try to explain in a single sentence that it can be perceived badly and it's better to restict it to mostly the channels where everyone agrees to accept that language, I immediately get people attacking me for it because it's an "International" server (technically it's a European server with English main language). The second means I can't help people with questions or that may want to do something. Ofcourse a lot of questions involve which advanced class they should pick, which the answer is always personal preference and play style. I don't have a problem with the fact that people want to use native languages, but it can make for a much better atmosphere if they do it in their own guilds. I can understand if a guild makes an advertising message in their own language, but when they do that they generally do spam it. Result it that I may start putting those entire guilds on my ignore list. Personally I avoid people of the same nationality as myself, or at least don't share mine so freely. At times I have let them know I also knew that language and they'd just use it to me. Then I regret sharing my nationality, it throws me off my game to have to use more than one language at a time. BRC (both factions) I think it was (might have been another guild) is a good example of how you can do things as a foreign guild. The recruitment message is in english but states it's a russian speaking guild. I wouldn't have a problem with them sending a second message after that saying the same thing in russian. BUT then they would have to do it less, as it is they advertise quite a bit when they do advertise, but not yet spam level I think. - I have a different issue with that guild, but that is off topic and getting much less lately. If you want a russian guild this may be for you. Polish guilds advertise in polish generally, this is quite noticible. But so do the spanish/italian/greek/etc. French and german have their own servers to speak on, so you don't see them so much, well the players you may but those are the ones that choose to use english online. I play online and choose to use english on the "European / English" server, I know not everyone knows English or knows it well. And you won't catch me playing the grammar nazi, who cares if someone makes a lot of typos or bad spelling as long as there's no question what is being meant? But with other languages you don't always understand, and with most used you just don't. Lately I noticed we moved to silent random invites more and more, but also group finding SPAM.
  18. http://www.swtor.com/fr/community/forumdisplay.php?f=391 That should be the thread you mean to go to. It's the french version of the server type you're posting on.
  19. The way I read it it's all current characters on your account, in which care it's not that appealing to me. If it's all current and future characters, then getting one with every subscribed month (to not be spending more credits than you get for free and to have some spare for other things), you could have it permanently maxed for all characters you ever get... That I would be more interested in. So I'd like to know if new characters get it too. Ofcourse the first tier is a waste, 5000 credits are not that much, especially when you already have a high level to fund the lower. If it's account wide current and future it removes the need to extend it all the time and earn credits for it, especially after getting the full page. Hope someone can add the details, not taking chances with it, I'll take the gamble packs when I want to gamble.
  20. Not familiar with that mission myself, so don't assume I have the best strategy. The problem seems to be that your companion slot is waisted too fast, so you're already losing the reason for choosing that one. I'd try one with more survivability and/or damage dealing. But you'd lack healing, it can be a hard choice in a long battle, but if you can't keep the healer alive it's best to kill fast I think.. Another option can be to ask other players if they are willing to help you out. You can always do something else to get to level 50 and get yourself recruit gear from the PvP vendors. This is better than most things you'll find in the story areas and a good start regardless of what post-story content you may be interested in (not just PvP). You can also equip your companions with that to increase their survivability.
  21. However, the neutral armors aren't all that neutral, the appearance is still faction based. Which makes me wonder why there are these republic/imperial only pieces, well, other than the class names inside. I would've preferred the neutral ones to be really neutral, so depending on outfit choice empire and republic could look the same (which also adds a lot more variety options for people within the same faction). Maybe in a future patch.
  22. Grade 5 UT missions, I still have one on the Shaltin Tunnels, same mission level range as the item level. Not 100% sure which mission type I ran, most likely for luxury fabrics and/or companion gifts, leaning towards the gifts. I think it doesn't matter which you try though, and from my experience you get a lot of armormech schems from the fabrics, and companion gifts feel the best overall to me, but you may feel different on those odds. Hope that helps.
  23. I'm pretty sure I found both, and the Traditional Brocart Vestments even twice (and crit crafted in less than 5 tries after the first find). Not too sure about the Demicot, it has traditional and anointed I think, not sure which schematics I have of which, and I may even have a spare one in there somewhere. Ofcourse a spare schematic doesn't help if we're not on the same server. On a different note: As far as crafting headgear goes, still no luck in crit crafting, but at least I've seen them being linked in chat, so it must be possible. Also the hood issues still make choosing one a tough choice, would be easy if circlets lowered the hood, but that'd probably shave your head if it would. Still, circlets may be the best looking choice (or just not show headwear) or the chinwear.
  24. My thoughts exactly. If this is flat, then Alderaan Civil War is flat and in a straight line leaving no player choice whatsoever. The only way I see this one improving is if there would be more objectives and more players. Maybe 5 objectives and 12 players per team, and ofcourse a larger map to go with that. And ofcourse if you make bigger maps there's room for more height differences. But adding more levels to a map like this (mostly looking at size) would not be beneficial.
  25. Same here, at least the heavy armors have a circlet that overrides the hood, same is not true for light armors, very annoying. I mean, who is going to notice that circlet anyway when you're wearing a hood? Would be the perfect headgear to use as a workaround to the lack of a hood toggle. We who want hood options don't need it to be an emote, at least not me, I'm happy with a setting like the helmet toggle (which should be easy to implement seeing as many helmets already toggle hoods off). If BioWare thinks we want an emote then I can understand why they didn't add it yet. I'm going to see if I can try with a "chin helmet" next, like in the Traditional Nylite (at least imperial side, assuming I can get my hands on one). EDIT: Tried with previewing, it took my hair off!
