  1. 10 pages and not one single reason to not have a same server LFD tool that hasn't or can't be easily refuted. Bring it on Bioware.
  2. It not only fails to be well explained, it's not well implemented. It only shows the first 100 results. I often don't even see my own name when I have my tag on. Secondly when you do group, your tag doesn't turn off so often when you see people with a LFG comment by their name they're already grouped or have given up and don't want to any more. You rarely if ever see more than one person who bothers to use it anyhow. If it were improved then it would be great, not as efficient as something automatic but I'd take it over spamming a chat channel. But it doesn't solve the problem of there being far more people looking for a group than people who are willing to create one.
  3. 1. Eh, not really. Most flashpoint groups form on the fleet, and while you may get an invite while out on a planet leveling the time it takes to return the fleet rarely makes it worth it. 3. Not really an issue between try-hards and casuals, or even being whiny. It's about efficiency and honestly it's going to happen regardless. You currently don't need to socialize with your server. You spam chat with "lfg black talon", till you get an invite. That's not close enough to socializing to be considered as such and really does more harm to the community since it fills the chat channel with needless LFG spam. While they're in the queue, they're not spamming chat channels, they're out questing and not sitting in the fleet staring at a wall. People in guilds can form groups in their guild chat and have no need of a tool or even general chat for that purpose. They're not really effected by the inclusion of a group tool. People who won't join a guild with the inclusion of one probably wouldn't have to begin with. Me for example. The community grows when people group up, sure.. But it's not the channel spam that does it.
  4. I can't tell if the OP is being serious, it's hard to tell on the internet. But assuming he is, have to say it's exactly the reason they shouldn't remove elites. Prior to hearing his reasoning I may not mind, as elites don't really add much difficulty as much as they add time spent spamming abilities. It's not so much that they should be removed or added, but enhanced in a way that make them worthwhile. There are several who make for an interesting encounter, at least two of which appear on Belsavis. Outside of those, elites and strongs tend to just be time sinks as far as I can tell.
  5. Ah to answer your question, it apparently is. I guess I never noticed the circle appear.
  6. Yeah but you run out of quests eventually, or out level them. Dailies do give legacy, but I'm not sure how much it adds up to if you do all of them over the course of the day. I know that leveling an alt from 1-20 has very little impact on the legacy bar in the lvl 6-7 range.
  7. Yeah because that's what we want, more of those. Nah I'm not against try-hards, and I wouldn't mind seeing an online tool for e-peen stroking. Gotta have something in our sigs after all.
  8. I was really under the impression that legacies were the reward for leveling up alts, playing through the different storylines, etc.. Do dailies give legacy xp? That may be how.
  9. I usually fail to pass due to being unable to select the person. Tab is iffy, selecting on the group window results often in not having line of sight even when they're in range due to being on a ramp or behind something.. So yeah having set carriers would help but then you'd need a premade, and when you do that it's just face rolling, completely boring.
  10. yeah this is the first MMO I've had to select targets by clicking on them, and it's tricky with the size of the hit boxes. Hopefully they'll either reduce them, or preferably fix tab targeting.
  11. Yeah I felt the same when I hit 50 with my BH, terrific finish and I almost immediately started over with an Imperial Agent. I never play alts, but yeah, they got me hooked. I'm not sure I'll make a third Imperial, will probably may another two on Republic though.
  12. I'm reminded of an interview I read recently with one of the developers behind Zelda and he was commenting on how he was looking forward to moving on to another franchise. The reason was production on franchise games tend to involve making sure everything that made the game great in the previous entry had to still be present while only later opening up for innovation. Problem being that time runs out as costs run up. This was about franchise games in general, not just Zelda. MMOG's are almost of a franchise than a genre. They all cater to the exact same crowd and need to have everything all the others had before it on the plate to be considered a success. It seems reasonable to say that SWTOR should have all the features that WoW has as of 2011 rather than it did in 2004. But both had a development time to work with and and it's simply unrealistic to say that SWTOR should launch with that amount of content, and all the features that came with it. There has to be a significant amount of time put into making the game stand apart, and while Bioware's focus on story content isn't for everyone it's certainly done it's share to consume development time. No MMOG is ever going to be released that has all that WoW has. To expect as much is going to leave you eternally unhappy with MMOG's. With every new title comes that long period of time waiting for new patches and new content and some will stick to it while others don't. How well SWTOR will fare will be determined by how quickly and reliably they can get that content out the door. As of yet I'm not impressed. Small patches so far and little information on what's to come (yes I mean the sticky) has me more concerned than any missing features from launch.
  13. You can already do that. General chat spans instances, ask for help and when you invite them they can port to your instance. Instancing is tricky because you don't want too many people in an area, over 100 for example would be a bit much. In the higher level area's there are usually around 60-80 people with once instance. It's when there are over 100 and and a second is created but later at night there are only less than say 10 in an instance where it feels totally empty. But again you can either switch to the other or just use chat to form your groups as it's shared between them.
  14. It's why I only LFG for flash points while on the fleet, never on the planet where I'm leveling. I hang out on the fleet some times for hours it seems looking for a group, I don't want to be that guy who get's an invite while questing and make everyone who's already on the fleet wait for me when they probably joined while there. It's just not considerate, it's almost up there with running around the fleet with your companion out.
  15. Level your legacy, at least that's what I'm doing. No idea what's in line for it but plan to have it leveled when it's implemented. As far as the stuff available at 50, none of it sounds really fun or new or anything. With 7 other storylines to play through though it seems silly to grind hardmodes.
  16. What's funny is that it's not as polished as SWTOR today.
  17. You're very self enlightened, you should be proud.
  18. Yeah that doesn't seem to work any more.
  19. I know I've seen it, just can't remember where at the moment but I know the one I saw was 1.5 million, not 6000. Sorry can't be more help.
  20. Yeah especially people who rely on voice chat. They rarely if ever pay attention the chat panel so having the text in their line of vision is a great way to get through to those mouth breathers.
  21. I never really expect much to exploration in themepark mmo's. I do like working out the way to find a datacron, but it's hardly exploration. I don't even know how they could implement it in a satisfying way that I would even care about. I just don't think it works in this kind of game. For the animations I agree, they're complete *****. Just the running animation alone is so stiff it's hard to imagine how that made it in. But I suppose they're limited in how animated they can be or something, I don't know the technical reasons behind it. You'd think some advancements in that regard would have been made over the past 7 or 8 years.
  22. Those chunks of time add up. Is it the most pressing issue? Nope, but you have to wonder why it's there.
  23. Not true, in fact very wrong. It's important to have an easy way of seeing who's saying what and where they are in relation to you. Chat bubbles were great in grouping in Eq2, and loved them in SWG as well. I really just want them for group chat. Should be a top priority, the large number of threads on the issue should be an indicator to that. No game that has had them have forced you to use them. This is why we need a search function, so I could slap you in the face with it
  24. I don't believe they designed the progression around a single server ruleset. Helps differentiate the factions a bit too.
  25. Yeah I'd be fine without it being able to be switched at the drop of a hat. I'm fine with having a take a trip to the fleet or capital city to switch out spec's.. Being able to have at least two presets and having a set fee however isn't asking too much. How unique you are has little to do with how you allocate your talent points, it's how well you play your class. Joe may have a 4% bonus to alacrity while Jane has a 25% reduction to push back on three of her primary attacks but from frankly I don't define either of them by those differences.
