  1. Farmville generation? Really? You can do better than that LOL.
  2. Server group forums, serves same purpose does it not?
  3. Yes but he's saying that this one is fun because of it. So my response to you is, so? Again, so? Yes, it's an opinion. Broken record? That's your example of unbalanced PvP? Are you even trying. No, quite seriously you're projecting here. Definitely projecting. He's saying he likes companions and you say he's a troll. You lost all the credibility you never had.
  4. I'll pay more heed to the statistics after the first month, but fewer people logging in over the span of the first month is par for the course is it not? Did you fully understand what you linked? Lower server population does not equal out to a loss in subscribers. Populations even out over time, players move servers to alleviate queue wait times, or go back to work. What we see in those statistics reflects that. Later it may, but as of now it's not really any thing you don't see in any other MMO. If you can point one out, go ahead. Your shacknews link is dead. Watched the video, yes this is known and it's not game breaking. Odd one to pick out, I'd have went with something more annoying like the clunky GTN. But whatever. Yes I know MMO's have bugs. Nice one with the "biodrone" remark, you could be a pundit. I know I know, if people like the game, they MUST be a "biodrone". It's almost clever. Anyway, you've really given no facts, or at least none that are really relevant.. Just posted about some bugs and made a false correlation between server population and a declining user base. Bioware didn't revolutionize the genre in a way that appealed to you, in effect you fail to see it. I get something out of SWTOR that I never got out of any other MMO I've played. If feeling that way makes me a drone, then **** it I'm a drone.
  5. You could have just said "Nuh uh! That's all just your opinions!" That's what we do here, btw, we offer up our opinions. Hey, you just did too! It's crazy!
  6. Probably the crux of it. People bought it expecting something it wasn't and had no choice but to do the generic forum whine. The funny part is the aspect of the game they want is actually there, they're just too infuriated that others are enjoying the rest of the game they only have disdain for. Hence even more forum whine. Fact is, they have more fun playing the forums than the game, true no matter the game or what state it is in. They're drama queens, and forum trolling is their cheap thrill.
  7. People who defend the game: Bioware Employee. People who trash the game: Blizzard Employee. People who believe the above is the case with every post: People who are separated from reality.
  8. Gotta love it.. We're all sitting in computer chairs, probably a little chub, talking about a video game and calling each other lazy.
  9. That would depend on what one would hate about WoW. Yes I love this game because it's Star Wars, I love the setting. I love the graphics. Two things I could never say about WoW. Combat mechanics the same? I just can't really say I care. That was never an issue I had with WoW, but then I only played WoW for a month back in 05' to about level 29 or something. It had the same appeal to me as My Little Pony, I just didn't get it. But hey it's cool that some do, I'm not going to judge.
  10. Actually that's not a fact. I leveled my Sniper to 50 without doing any bonus objective missions (made it a point to skip them though I did some in heroics where I was in a group). I skipped the Nar Shadda and Balmorra bonus series, I actually skipped the Alderaan bonus series on my first character but did it with my Sniper. Which really helps with alts because I can do a bonus series I skipped the last time through. I've never done the Hoth bonus series (Assuming it has one). I do space missions from time to time and I do each flashpoint once. Leveling my third and I've never felt like I was grinding.
  11. About the only viable way of doing it. You can group for all the solo content, but that just makes it really easy mode and boring IMO. Getting a group of four people 25+ and doing BT and Esseles over and over again seems the intended way as things stand. About 150 a run, plus a good chunk of LS/DS points and affection for whichever companion you have set as active. Unfortunately it's hard to get people in for this, and when I do they rarely stay for very long. It's boring, of course, so it's not really a surprise. I really need three other consulars to roll with me lol.
  12. Empire sells Organa, Republic sells Ulgo. It seems backwards.
  13. Well like I said earlier, for people who don't enjoy that there's the typical gear grind to participate in. I think people are just rerolling because it's the more fun alternative. Frankly if that's what Bioware is relying on then they made a good decision because frankly there's more than enough games out there with nothing but a gear grind to end up with (Rift). With playing the same content over and over, I'd agree but I have more of a problem with doing that with flash points. I just can't sit and do them day after day and the whole idea of dailies (even the name makes my eyelids heavy) makes me even more thankful I have a worthwhile reason to start over. How well that will work out will depend on how much and of what quality content they can push out.
  14. Yeah, it's the MMO aspect that allows us to have 7 other stories to play through after the first. And with new content, well, more story to be had. I'm all for a gear grind, but I'd love to put it off for as long as possible because let's face it, it's just something we do because that's typically all there has been to do.
  15. Isn't it great? It's pretty refreshing and I'm on my third now and enjoying the story of my latest just as much as my first character.
  16. I didn't prove that point, I said I rerolled because I enjoyed the leveling experience. Not because there's a lack of anything to do. But maybe it is because people are rerolling that you can't find enough people to do the gear grind and dailies. Let's face it, that's just not that much fun. I think now that people have a reason to reroll and not feeling forced to do that crap we're seeing just how lame it is. But of course there are those who still love it, and people are raiding.. So some people are going at it. Any decent raiding guild will gear up a recruit through hard modes. And if the gear is the only motivator for you and it's better from PvP then go PvP, what's the problem? You raid to beat the encounter. But again, I grew tired of it several games ago and realized that that's all it had become for me as well, a gear grind. So like I said, glad SWTOR has given me something more interesting to do. Just to clarify about that comment about rerolling, that was advice to a specific player who had out paced his server community. No amount of end game content can solve that. There's plenty to do at 50, but currently there's just much more fun to be had playing through as a different class. That's the strength of SWTOR.
  17. There was a sticky about it a while back. It's the delay between when the "cast" bar is full and the ability goes off. It's noticeable especially when you move immediately after the bar is full and it cancels the ability. I think the problem is that the ability activates with the animation of the character, rather than when you press the button. And there's some "lag" between when the cast bar is full and when that animation may play out. The animation can be interrupted even after the bar has filled and vanished. It's really noticeable if you're the type to move a lot while using abilities, like in PvP. Is it as serious as people make it out to be? No, it's just something to whine about. Game breaking? Anyone who says that should get a kick in the nuts.
  18. Gotta go with the OP. First MMO where I've hit 50 and immediately rerolled, the leveling experience is just that much fun. Once you get out of that tired gear grind mindset it's really refreshing and SWTOR is the first MMO that I've played that's really made that a viable approach. LOL.. "serious gamers". That's a joke right? So you've identified why you're here, is it enough for you to stay? Also why do you assume that's the case for everyone else? Just curious.
  19. My concern with crafting is how much money I can make with it, not so much about getting use out of what I can make. Though that's a nice bonus and definitely something I benefited from with my Biochem. I created purple med units every time they became available, the ability to revive your companion in combat is too useful. But as a money maker, Biochem came in second for me to Cybertech. Level up a character today and search for armoring for your class at any given level and odds are you won't find it. While you can spend commendations on these, they're often aimed at END as the primary stat. As a Sniper for example the highest level armoring from a commendations vendor are the Patron Armoring, which have far less cunning than Skill Armoring. I made a ton of money from selling Resolve, Skill, and Reflex armoring as opposed to the Force Wielder, Patron, and Commando armoring people buy from vendors. Not to mention the huge profits from Ship upgrades though I no longer sell those because the market is swamped. Should Cybertech's make armoring? Probably not. I do know that I could never sell earpieces reliably and while grenades occasionally I often have to relist them several times before they do. Thing I liked about Biochem for personal use was being able to use med units while leveling, plus implants sold well in the mid range levels. But I just didn't find it very profitable. And since the "end game" for me is leveling new characters, making money to share between them all is my top priority. Perhaps one small change they could make that would enhance the profits from mods and enhancements, and crystals would be to make all them contribute in some way to armor or damage rating. Crystals shouldn't contribute as much rating as a hilt or barrel, but giving it something more then a bump to +crit or power would increase their value on the market. I think that's one reason why crystals don't move as fast as they should, people don't see the benefit as being worth the cost when you can get something almost as good from loot.
  20. Ignoring that attitude, seems ideally players should be social 2 by 20. Currently the climb is simply too steep. Maybe if you group for all of your solo quests, but grouping for solo quests poses it's own problems, mostly in how easy it makes the game. Also how it pisses off everyone else around the area when you blow through the area with a group and kill everything in a matter of seconds. Currently seems like the best way to do it is forming up groups for Esseles and Black Talon with the sole purpose of grinding social points. Roughly 150-200 points every run and if you skip the dialog it goes pretty quick. I think this will be how the majority go about it until it's tweaked.
  21. I think the Sith gear is about just as bad. Too comically evil.
  22. First thing I did was grind out social rank 2 and I went to Balmorra and bought the social gear there. Made my consular look like far more like what I had in mind. Normal clothes with a backpack. I'm not a big fan of the opulent robes and headgear, just doesn't seem very "Jedi" to me.
  23. I've always used it, but I've never been invited without spamming chat. I mostly use it in open world where people can see the icon next to my nameplate and know I'm LFG. Flashpoints are simply too short and quick to spend much time LFG for them, which is why I prefer an automated tool for them.
  24. Even if that were true, it would merely mean ignorance has prevailed and there's no reason to not inform people with clear misconceptions on how it would or could apply to this game. Of course it matters what people think. To say otherwise is just, well.. Stupid.
