  1. Exactly, SWTOR should probably have been released in Dec 2012. Just imagine if it released with all the content up to 1.3 and the rest of the content planned for 2012 and not only that but lived up to their promises of releasing substantial content every 1-2 months following release. Not only would it be a vastly superior game but i also suspect it would have been considerably more successful and retained subscibers.
  2. WoW has had a content drought as well, yet it is still highly successful. Many people will also come back for the expansion. Also dont forget many people have been playing it for years, eventually a lot of people just get bored. Honestly i wouldnt be too surprised if Blizzard has switched resources towards it new MMO at this point. The fact that it has been the most successful MMO and continues to be successful even now is a testament to the quality of the game. Finally, if they were doing such a 'good job' they wouldnt have lost 800 000+ subscribers and changed to a F2P model after swearing up and down they could be and would continue to be a successful subscription model MMO.
  3. Pretty much this, thanks. The auto industry and the recent bail outs come to mind, but generally speaking ya.
  4. This was probably just a PR move, they knew it was a feature people wanted and it wasnt ready, so rather than say its not finished yet, they merely say its not needed.
  5. Quality is not entirely subjective. Some things are objectively of superior quality. For instance, the strength of a metal, Steel is of better quality than Copper. In other areas most peope generally agree upon what is better quality and whether warranted or not this acceptance is relevant to a products success. What is better quality, polyester or silk? What is better quality, a Standard Def TV or a HD TV? What is better quality a Saturn or a Porche? Ask most people these questions and they will overwhelming suggest that the former is of better quality. Now this being said, the quality of a game is somewhat more difficult to define but there are certainly factors that go into this consideration and i will not go into examining this. Once again, no MMO is a good as WoW. This is why WoW has retained so many of its subscribers over time. Furthermore, the fact that something has not happened is not evidence that it will never happen or could not have happened under different circumstances. SWTOR had a chance to be successfull however due to Biowares failures it is not. The fact that WoW is still the most successful MMO by a large margin and is still using a subscription model shows that the model itself is not the problem. Most MMOs that are F2P are inferior games that cannot compete, why would you pay a subscripition for a game that is worse than WoW when you can simply play WoW? Except i didnt say this. What i said was that they are using it as an excuse while the true blame lies with the choices they made and their failure to live up to their promises.
  6. Can you please name one P2P MMO that has come out after WoW that been as good as WoW? Nope. Futhermore can you please explain to me what this has to do with the undeniable fact that they failed to live up to their promises regarding content updates?
  7. Again, do you not understand simple english? They promises regular and substantial content updates every 1-2 months. I will not find the quote for it, find it yourself its out there. In 7 months they have released 1, whereas going by their promise they should have released 3-4. Therefore it is quite clear they did not deliver on their promises. Sorry that you're a fanboy that needs to defend the game he plays to his dying breath despite overwhelming evidence of incompetence on the part of its developer.
  8. Sorry that everyone is not a Star Wars nerd reads all the extended universe material. What does irrelevant knowledge of Star Wars lore have to do with an argument not related to Star Wars lore in the slightest? You have lost all of your credibility.
  9. Except they promised frequent content updates and did not deliver. Explain to me what is entitled about expecting to get what has been promised? Nothing Go look up the word entitled because you obviously dont understand its meaning.
  10. Id expect them to not make promises if they cant live up to them. Id expect them to live up to the promises they do make. I would also expect them to own up to their failure to keep their promises and apologize rather than pretend that they have or otherwise that they never made them to begin with.
  11. http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/bioware-mmo-project/1225612p1.html This article sums it up quite succintly. You can make excuses all you want, saying that the MMO market has shifted to F2P, but the reality is that the failure of SWTOR to reach its potential is 100% on you. You promised frequent content and story updates. You had a very large team. You did not deliver. What happened? 7 Months in and you have only added one medium size content update, basic features that should have been in at launch and NO story updates at all. What happened to story as a new MMO pillar? What happened to all this supposed story you wrote. Let this be a lesson to your EA overlords (although you know they will simply do the same thing over and over) STOP RUSHING OUT GAMES BEFORE THEY ARE FINISHED. Where high profile high potential games are concerned, you will make MORE money by polishing and actually finishing a game rather than releasing a half finished crappy product. You will make MORE money by building brand loyalty rather than destroying it by releasing crap. What is so difficult to understand about this? While you're at it please fire your management and hire people that actually understand how to run a game business.
  12. So according to you Bioware balances on the game on statistics. Also according to you all balance is a matter of 'perspective'. Therefore on your reasoning Biowares statistics are merely 'perspective' and thus no more reliable a basis on which to balance the game than the opinions of the players. Why havent you stopped posting yet?
  13. Their damage stats are most likely based on PvE and or target dummies not actual PvP fights or Warzones.
  14. This is a public forum if you do not wish for someone to read and respond to your posts then perhaps you should not be posting? I didnt know that benefit could be quantified. Good to know Explain to me how it is not constructive to directly respond to and address things you have said? If my response is not contructive, then i suppose your original post must not be constructive either.
  15. I wasnt suspended sorry. I guess that means you reported me. I suppose this is the only recourse for someone who lacks the capacity to grasp fairly simple concepts. Arguing that what you have said is false or incorrect is an argument. Apparently you do not know what an argument is. Often when you dont understand a word looking it up in the dictionary helps. Again you make accusations without providing any proof or reasoning, therefore they are completely baseless. Where have i talked in circles and failed to provide an argument? Where have i failed to make a point and taking things out of context? Its pretty easy to throw around criticism without directly addressing anything. Again, you are making a lot of baseless claims. You have failed to directly address any of things i have said in any manner whatsoever. Therefore you have not proven anything i have said is false or otherwise incoherent. Rather you attempt personal attacks in an effort to dismiss and discredit what i have said. Once again, do the forum a favor and stop posting.
