  1. Seems like most of the issues people are having are with raid content, but why they would expect raid content to be bug free within a month of launch I have no idea. Since when has that ever happened short of maybe an expansion.
  2. Odd, I've got a 50 and a 40 and didn't experience any game breaking bugs. Closest was during the IA storyline with a class quest boss having LOS issues. Nothing I couldn't find a work around for.
  3. This highlights a good point, it's not the game.. It's the players. Of course just ignore the first line. See a good list of crutches people have become dependent on to play.
  4. Typically it's the first MMO someone plays. Those are the ones we look back on the most through rose-tinted glasses.
  5. You can craft with materials that are in your bank, there's no need to carry them with you. Med Units not only heal both you and your companion, but will revive your companion in combat. Pressing shift and dragging with your left mouse button will split a stack, but it will also link the item in chat. To avoid that, press shift and drag with your right mouse button instead. Don't forget Command Stims. They really boost the effectiveness of your companions. At 32 they increase your Presence by 60 which gives a huge boost to companion HP and damage. Have unused commendations from planets you've out leveled? Items you buy from commendation merchants aren't bound so you can either sell them on the market or mail them to your alts. Do your space missions as they become available. The dailies give larger fleet commendation rewards and waiting to do these at 50 will mean a longer wait till you can get your ship gear that grants abilities in combat. Doing every quest on a planet will leave you significantly over leveled for the next one. Aim to leave the planet when you have reached the end of it's level range. Nar Shaddaa is 20-24, Tatooine is 24-28.. You should head to Tatooine at 24-25, preferrably at 25 once you have a mount. This will make leveling alts more tolerable as you can do side quests you skipped the first time through. Doing every quest however is a good source of income. Don't blindly buy all of your skill upgrades as they become available. Make sure they're ones you actually use as the price on these jump up dramatically.
  6. The reusable medpac/stims aren't bound when you craft them. I've sold many.
  7. Hotfixes are generally short, while the beefy monthly patches are long toilet reads. At least in the games I've played.
  8. This is just too funny, needs to stay in IMO.
  9. My favorite is "It just makes people sit in town, vacant eyed while waiting for a queue to pop." My first reply is typically "vacant eyed?!", but for SWTOR I would probably just reply by saying that we already have sit in town just to do flashpoints. It's called the Imperial Fleet. Like this.
  10. Yeah, really tired of this. Too many groups I've been in where I know they probably thought I was an *** for not replying to what they were saying. I sent a tell saying I couldn't see group chat but never got a reply.. So apparently tell's aren't working when this happens too? Bah, this has been happening for too long now.
  11. Yep, that seems to be it. Great tip, thanks. Finished with the ship at about 5%, stressful!
  12. Yeah, it doesn't seem to be a matter of gear. I'm all rank 1 with a couple rank 2's, have a power conversion module that I keep on weapons fire due to the fact that I'm not the one being shot at. I have no problem taking out the enemies as quickly as I see them, they die really fast.. Just the ship I'm escorting's armor goes poof past the asteroids.
  13. Yeah it's not even a matter of being able to kill the enemies fast enough, it's health just plummets suddenly past the asteroids.
  14. Eh I really have no problem with them adding more bars. The UI needs to be completely reworked and being able to add as many bars as you want should be standard. Just saying that I've yet to play a class to 50 who needed more than three bars. Two for abilities and one for buffs, consumables, mounts, etc.
  15. Totally. Many replace others in function even on my BH who has a ton of abilities I had the left bar on my screen completely empty aside from a stack of medpacks. Not to mention that a lot of skills are ones you would only use in a group, while others just as solo. You can sort these on your bottom center bar so that you can cycle the bar to fit the situation you're in.
  16. Blargh, too many people who aren't reading the thread.. Logging back in.
  17. In the example of a cross-server tool this may be true. Same server? With the high chances of seeing the exact same faces in your next group you wouldn't want to risk being kicked (or rated poorly if a rating system were to exist). Many problems I hear with LFD tools tend to be centered around issues that could easily be rectified. Again, not really an issue in SWTOR. Flashpoints are too quick, insignificant in the leveling process, and frankly the idea of social networks being formed around them is ludicrous. This is applying old world concepts to a game where they no longer apply. I'd love it if they did, but they don't. Even in games like EQ2 on AB where there were these social sites with forums where people called out names of ninja's and straight up ******es the community at large was still mostly unaware and grouped with them regardless.
  18. At the end of the day, if they see that placing all of the flashpoints in the fleet failed to create the "community" they thought it would, they'll remedy it. Also he never said LFD tooll destroy communities, he said they don't foster the same interaction as channel spam. To a degree he's correct but for flashpoints, channel spam does just as little as LFD tools to enforce a healthy community. So I wouldn't even say he really agrees with you, and frankly if they are to look at this thread they would find some sound reasoning behind having one.
  19. I can just as easily say that never happens outside of guild grouping. Are groups formed and flashpoints completed? Sure. Do they account for a significant portion of people looking to do the content? We don't know. Doesn't seem likely however.
  20. While I've played MMO's for nearly 10 years now and I have been in several guilds I can say that I've had a blast with many a pick up group. In fact I got to know far more people doing PuG's than I ever did in a guild. But that was in games where grouping was for lasting events, not like flashpoint grouping here in SWTOR. That whole argument just doesn't hold water.
  21. That's clearly why they put all of the flashpoints on the fleet. It's also why it's a fantastically lagged out mess where no one enjoy's hanging out because that's where they have to be to form flashpoint groups. If anything, and I've said it once, all the chat channel spam to form groups does MORE harm to the community. Flashpoints are short, sweet, I've done several where no one said a word, and I fail to see how the community was enforced by doing them. That's a really solid argument for older games like EQ2 for example where when you joined a group it was typically for several hours. It simply doesn't apply here for flash points, not in this game.
  22. I create groups all the time, it's the only way to get things done I agree. I have little problem doing this with heroics on planets. I sat in fleet for half an hour at least last night LFM'ing (helps to say LFM more than LFG) for Mandalorian Raiders, not one single bite. At 25 people are spread across the fleet, Nar Shaddaa, Tatooine, and a few brave souls heading to Alderaan. Short of having a world-wide chat channel (far far worse than anything imaginable) a LFD tool is the best solution. And yes it doesn't help that I'm a DPS. On my healer it's easier but there were still times it took far too long. You simply shouldn't have to spend more time looking for a group than it takes to do the flashpoints, which are very short.
  23. I'm simply saying it only shows 100 results. If it filtered out the ones primarily LFG and showed those over any others then that would make more sense. You could say it's not psychic, but I simply prefer to say it's not very effective at what it sets out to do. More exposure to it would help yes, but as is that wasn't an exaggeration. At least not in my experience. I rarely if ever see even one person who has it enabled on planets past Nar Shaddaa. And that's 25+, I'm not talking about end-game here. Yeah like I said, far more followers than leaders. You can see it in Fleet general all the time when it's just pages of LFG and you can clearly see there are enough to form maybe even two groups for a flashpoint. A tool would automate that, whereas otherwise you're not just waiting on a healer or tank, you're waiting on someone with gumption. For whatever reason that's rare commodity in MMOG's.
  24. I did, several pages ago. I do concede that it's better than nothing, but it doesn't quite do the job. Even if improved it doesn't solve the problem of there being far far more followers than leaders in MMOG's.
  25. Don't assume that just because your fat that everyone who plays SWTOR is as well. Though I'll agree that the percentage is probably pretty high.
