  1. Yeah, I'm sure it takes so long to write that article and create video. Like, two whole days, man! How dare they do things to add a bit of fun to their website on our money. What will they do next, take lunch breaks?!
  2. Really? I've played the game pretty extensively (though I haven't done many operations or HM flashpoints) and I haven't encountered a game-breaking or even slightly annoying bug. Okay, sometimes if I dismiss a companion I'll be unable to resummon them without summoning another companion from the companion screen (the N button by default), and if you log out in stealth the game thinks you're stealthed until you log out out-of-stealth, and it takes way too long for loading screens to, well, load (I run WoW on max and it loads in 30 seconds if that, in TOR it takes three or four minutes for Tatooine or the fleet.). Also the framerate is extremely low if you spam open/close your bag. That's about it for my experience - four bugs, three of them being extremely minor ones. I wouldn't say it's anything near bugged to hell.
  3. I waste far too much of my time on this game (...yeah, you can't tell that from my signature at all, right?). It's very fun as far as leveling goes - I just hit the cap on my Assassin last night (I abandoned my first capped character's server because it's pretty much dead as soon as I finished his story) so I'll see if I actually like the MMO treadmill now. >.> Oh, come on. WoW did nothing of the sort. Hardmode Lich KIng was said to be an incredibly difficult fight and nobody actually beat him until Blizzard gave the players a 5% damage buff. It just had lots of easier and/or less time-consuming content for people who didn't enjoy hardcore raiding all that much. If you go on the forums, if people complain about the game being too easy they're talking about the normal modes, which aren't meant to be all that difficult.
  4. Bumping this because it's an important issue to gameplay. D:< ...Totally.
  5. ...You're aware that this is a video game, right? I mean, the characters you'd be killing aren't real - they're scripted characters. It's like if I wrote a story where a character cut off the head of someone else and had this scene be for comedic effect (it's this odd thing called 'dark humor'). You're not damaging an actual PERSON.
  6. Except that this idea kills the whole point of heroic quests (they're supposed to encourage you to play with other people.). Companions get their orders from your computer communicating with the server. It may or may not be difficult to implement, depending on how the developers created the companions in the first place.
  7. I was actually considering this idea earlier -- if we could buy slaves/'dancers'/etc and maybe kill them if we wanted to, if they pissed us off in a dialogue scene, etc. I don't find it all that sick, considering that it's in a video game and that's about a violent as anything else you can do (making Vette watch while you have sex, or killing a bunch of Voss healers with lightning just because you can.). Most people know the difference between reality and fiction, you see, and probably wouldn't laugh if a real person was decapitated. Myself included.
  8. Right now, instead of being default WASD, it maps to your movement keys -- so if you, like myself, map A and D to strafe left/right instead of move left/right, it screws you in the space missions because you can't go left/right when using WASD to dodge attacks, so whenever I do space missions I have to remap my movement keys. This is incredibly annoying. t-t
  9. I've found that with my Sentinel, darkside options aren't that different from other classes - extortion, etc. The annoying thing about this to me is the fact that a dedicated Jedi (which you'd probably be, at least pre-Nar Shaddaa) wouldn't be an extortionist jerk.
  10. Oh, come on; Android is a perfectly fine OS. The only problem is that some phone companies screw with stock android and occasionally screw up apps because of their UI (HTC Sense, please kill me now), and it doesn't sound like that's the problem so it's probably an issue on Bioware's end. My iPod app (iOS 5.1) hasn't had any errors so far, but I've only been using it for a few days, so. *shrug*
  11. I wish that crafting was more fun (my Assassin is 400/400 on Artifice and Archaeology, working on getting him 400 diplomacy and also wondering as to why in the name of Nyarlethotep I didn't get treasure hunting for my mission skill), and I wish there was more orange gear and that raids were harder, and I wish we had a better LFG tool, and a guild-finder tool, but past that I'd say the game's pretty great. The leveling experience, at least, is solid (though it can get dull if you've done the content too often), and flashpoints are fun and PvP is enjoyable as well. Hell, even space missions are an enjoyable break. I'd give it a 7/10 if only because the game still needs a lot of development to be truly fantastic, right now it's just 'fun' -- and my fun might run out when I hit 50 and actually do something on my character at said level (my 50 Operative was abandoned literally as soon as I finished the class story because the server is dead.). I don't see how the combat in the game is sluggish; they fixed ability delay and past that it works pretty fine, though it's similar to WoW's combat and that might put a lot of people off.
  12. A whole lot more orange gear (the selections are very limited right now, especially 'good-looking' oranges.). Customizable gear is awesome, but (in my opinion) the majority of it is terrible-looking or bland (my Assassin looks nice I guess, but a bit stereotypical, and my Mercenary ... looks terrible and very, very boring at the same time, though I'm going to get him some Mando-style oranges and hopefully fix that problem.).
  13. To be fair, it *does* show your character being the one driving the taxi. It seems less like an actual taxi service and more like a rent-a-speeder sort of thing.
  14. Considering making a Sith Pureblood bounty hunter (I find the idea of being one of the few non-Force-using purebloods interesting to RP.). Or a Rattataki Consular. ...I need to get my Republic server going, it doesn't even have a legacy name yet. And yet, at the same time, my Empire characters are getting to rather high levels. *shrug*
  15. The reason race selection is so minimal for the SW is that you're supposed to be from an ancient/noble Sith bloodline (either human or Sith Pureblood - Zabrak were added after they did the voiced responses for the class, so they very occasionally get called out on being a pureblood). It's got more to do with the class story than anything else. *shrug*
  16. Except that this doesn't trivialize the experience-it just means you can go faster earlier. I don't see why this is a problem. Hell, if they let us get speeders for 10,000 credits after level fourteen I wouldn't even have a problem. It's just travel time. If they took off the CD on quick travel I'd have a problem, but until that sort of thing happens I don't see how it trivializes the experience or affects gameplay enough to actually have a real effect (something other than 'I get to run slightly faster now').
  17. My Mercenary is level twenty-six and has 146745 experience required to hit level 27.
  18. The thing that surprises me the most is that he seemed genuinely intrigued at the idea of a 'loop music' addition - something which games have had since video games started being a thing, especially considering the extent to which music adds to the ambiance/atmosphere of the location. I mean, really? This didn't occur to anyone during the initial development phase?
  19. The huge patch coming up in two or three weeks doesn't show dedication and effort to you?
  20. I just get all the grade 5 upgrades I can and/or the Power Converter you can buy on the Fleet's starship vendor for fleet commendations. I think it's doable with just the power converter if you have somehow have no credits.
  21. If I had to point out the most terrible thing in those sets, it's definitely the bust/skirt/thing. Why would a trooper be wearing anything with cloth on it? >_> It's stupid. Also I feel like the bounty hunter gear is synonymous with a creepy schizophrenic who thinks he's a plumber/axe murderer at the same time.
  22. All you have to do to gain legacy levels is what you normally do - kill mobs, quest, do flashpoints and PvP. On Lord Aldraas, I'm on legacy level eight and almost to nine, though I'm sort of an altoholic (which might make it easier to gain levels? Idunno how it works, precisely.).
  23. A single Sith Pureblood Jedi is going to be incredibly unusual, but considering that every class should be seen, lore-wise, as a single character (only one Sith Inquisitor, one Imperial Agent, etc), it's not an ironic or lorebreaking option. The same goes with force choke - Luke used it at least once in the comics (when he was lightside). As far as 'omg non-force using classes can't use the force!' I don't really see why not considering all you need is an ancestor who was powerful-ish in the Force to have any small or large amount of power in it as well.
  24. Bioware has stated that they have no intention of adding day/night cycles because they want 'breathtaking imagery' to stay breathtaking so everyone has the same experience of awe, or something. It's got its drawbacks as well because it's essentially saying 'we want a static environment' but to be fair to Bioware, the idea of letting everyone see awesome things exactly like they were intended isn't too bad of one, though it'd work much better if this was a single-player game where you only have a single playthrough.
  25. I had at least three Hoth commendation drops on my Assassin last night. It's probably just bad luck. (That, and Bioware would've mentioned it if they nerfed commendation world drops.).
