  1. Yeah, I guess they're running out of subscriber reward ideas or something. An HK-55 jetpack was cool, but why exactly do I want to wear his head as a helmet?
  2. There are people who actually want that thing? Why?
  3. I want to romance Khem Val. Because the idea makes me giggle.
  4. KotFE is out in about two months, so why would anyone bother buying Shadow of Revan if it's going to be free soon? Serious question. It seems kinda silly to dump $20 into something I can get free if I just wait.
  5. I'm happy that so far there's no Mockingbird legacy on The Ebon Hawk besides me that I know of. If all else fails I can always change it, I suppose. I *like* having a unique legacy, darn it.
  6. On some classes I use the healy companions, but mostly I eschew them for DPS or tank companions. My caster classes -- gunslinger, commando and sage, respectively -- always use tank companions, whereas my Guardian and Maurauder and Powertech all use the healy companion. The rest use DPS companions. (My commando often uses the melee DPS companion as well.). You can level the whole game being a healer or a tank, if you really want to. You just have to gear your companion really well and you're all good.
  7. Does this mean there will be no new operations, period, or just no new operations upon the beginning of KOTFE? Meaning: will the patch after it have an op or are they just firing the op level designer and not hiring a new one ever, ever again?
  8. If you are having to balance TOR with your marriage then you are playing way too much of the game. Maybe split your TOR time into another game too, like WoW. Marriage, work, TOR and WOW balance. That way you'll stay in moderation. Edit: since I came back in July I've been playing for several hours a day and I've been feeling TORed out a lot. I don't know how you guys manage it, lol.
  9. I have four 50s, five if you count the one I deleted: Trooper, smuggler, inquisitor, agent, warrior (deleted because I ****ed up his story and I never finished his Act III). I also have a Knight at L40 and a Sage at L33. I got a Bounty Hunter to L30-ish but deleted him because I didn't like how I made him look (I actually did this twice and have rerolled a third one which is at level 23 right now.). First off, the trooper and inquisitor storyline give me no wish to replay them at all. The trooper story after Act I was just dull and any threat was pretty far off and disconnected from your job - there wasn't even a real antagonist besides 'the empire'. I played it lightside the first time, and the idea of playing it darkside actually makes me cringe because no amount of twists from going darkside could make it more interesting. Insofar as the Inquisitor goes, I've heard that the lightside story really sucks and makes almost no sense, and the darkside one wasn't that great either - it had a great ending and a whole lot of Crowning Moments of Bad_ss, but that's about it for its redeeming qualities. The smuggler storyline, which I did lightside, was interesting enough to, well, keep me interested, though the Act III plot twist ticked me off. I'd like to go through it again as a darkside smuggler, but I'm not sure the story by itself could keep me interested because it was pretty 'meh' - average as these things go. The Agent and Warrior storylines, on the other hand, were fantastic (with the Agent by far being the best on in the game thus far - I don't think anything in this game could possibly outdo the end of the Agent's Act I.); I'd love to go through an Agent again with a darkside twist. That one twist actually changes a whole lot of how you experience the story and is really freaking awesome, and your character is incredibly differently portrayed from there on out. For the Warrior, I made a mistake here: I went darkside up to Tatooine, but a cutscene managed to convince me to change (slowly) to lightside. I decided that I didn't like this very much and ended up deleting the character. The story, though, is great: your actions matter, and if you play it right there are a whole lot of Crowning Moments of Bad_ss. The most memorable moment for me is where, if you do some maneuvering and settle for some lightside points on Nar Shaddaa, you totally out-maneuver your enemy in a style true to a sense of classic, ruthless Sith cunning. This is definitely a story worth playing through lightside and darkside. The Sage story is boring as hell. Really boring. I haven't finished Act I, though, so for all I know it gets better. It's also notable that this is my third Sage reroll because I didn't like the way the character looked. The Knight storyline is interesting-ish (this is my third Knight reroll, which I've decided to stick with) and has a lot of differences, from what I can tell, if you replay it darkside versus lightside. It's pretty freakin' cool. Worth replaying. The Bounty Hunter storyline so far seems very interesting, but I never finished Act I so I never actually saw the full thing. It's got this great attitude where you're this freelancing, greedy bad_ss who can pretty much get away with anything - if I wasn't on my third iteration it would be almost sickeningly fun to play. In a level of fun-to-tedious, I'd say it's: Tier 1 ('Great' to 'Blew me away, amazing in every way'): Agent, warrior, bounty hunter, knight with the Agent coming out on top by far Tier 2 ('Captured my attention' to 'above the par"): Smuggler, inquisitor Tier 3 ('worth playing through' to 'not all that bad'): Trooper, Sage Edit: Some people said that the Agent story was the most boring and implied that it had a really small scope. This is really confusing to me, because the Agent story is by far the most epic-in-scope story in the entire game - it makes the Knight and Warrior stories seem like nothing they did was a big deal (and I know what the endings are for both of those.). The Agent story is one of those very few things where I left it inspired and hoping that I could write something with that kind of quality, and I'm the guy who went through the Trooper storyline thinking about how much better I could've done it (I'm not the best director, so I might not be able to do it better, but at least my imagination has a vision with potential that far outweighs what we actually got.). I also think Inception is a 'meh' movie because I am an incredible critic. Edit #2: I'm the guildmaster of a Republic guild, and I just said the Imperial stories were essentially all better than the Republic ones. This is a great way to get recruits. XD
  10. Honestly, if they're going to charge me for it I'd rather they do a more complete, WoW-style expansion. I want a whole lot of expansion to be done if they're going to be charging me money, and especially if I'm going to have to spend an extended time waiting for its release. Also: class story expansions. They're not coming with Makeb and this is absolutely aggravating to me. The class story is one of TOR's greatest elements and they refuse to work with it? Seriously? Edit: Oh, also, I'm not sure I'll still be playing in Spring 2013. I like the game and spend a lot of time playing it (I'm a guildmaster of a pretty small guild - 60-ish players), but I'm not incredibly committed to the game by itself and I don't particularly trust the dev team to put in the kind of content I would enjoy (they're going the opposite direction that I want), and on the off-chance that I stop playing the game because I stop enjoying it I'd rather not spend $10 on something I won't use.
  11. We ended up having to postpone our first guild RP meeting for another time that is to-be-determined (as it turns out, not asking your actual guild members what good times are for guild meetings for them results in nobody actually being online), and I ended up doing a little bit of a revamp. Episode 0: Reboot will begin sometime next week in all likelihood, and there's some interesting plans for the future. We can always use more players, of course. /whisper Vertan or check out or site for more info.
  12. I only get the occasional mail in my mailbox; this is across all eight of my characters (four of them being at L50.). The Ebon Hawk hasn't really had gold spam issues from what I've seen.
  13. When did they make these mistakes? Because none of them really apply to healing as a commando in endgame. I've done gunnery but (1) it was in medic black hole gear and (2) I only do it for dailies, so obviously I can't judge the spec (much less assault tactics) thanks to my lack of experience. I mean, we healers have our weaknesses (we're ****ed if multiple people need healing at once, or at least we are a lot of the time - we could use a bit more strength there to be truly viable for raid healing), but we're very well-balanced and can be extremely valuable to a PvP or PvE team when played well. Extremely.
  14. Race unlocks are almost nonexistent as far as being for sale on my server - want to make some quick credits, sell them for like 500k apiece. <3
  15. I picked Elara, because Aric seemed too 'in-the-moment' and Elara seems like she's a superior tactician. Aric is too biased and unruly - too emotional, too out of control. It didn't have any effect on my story whatsoever. I'm pretty sure I could've rejected Elara and she still would've married me.
  16. Er. The rocket stopped in mid-air is in one of the class stories, and the space mission shown at 0:34 is an obvious space mission. o_O The other space stuff isn't even implied to be something the player controls. I mean... are you serious?
  17. Healing in this game is fun and dynamic, at least for the energy-using classes (merc/commando, operative/scoundrel) - I don't have a Sorcerer/Sage at 50 so I wouldn't know about that. It's quite fun, and to be honest changing your advanced class wouldn't really 'fix' the problem, because if you liked healing or tanking every AC but two gives you that option as a spec - if you liked it, you'd be doing it. The only way to 'fix' this would be to attract more players to the roles somehow, which honestly doesn't seem to work (if it did, Blizzard would have done this in WoW a LONG time ago). There may be no real solution here, to be honest. :/ Also: If you're going to complain, at least roll a tank/healer! Jeez. Not enough of these roles? Help solve the problem! (I have a L50 healy Operative and a L50 healy Commando; the Commando is my main and the Operative is my Imperial-side mini-main. I also have a Guardian tank at L38.).
  18. I assume that this is a bug that will be fixed and not something which should be complained about considering that it's been reported to BW over and over again. *shrug*
  19. Nope! It's an individual character perk - you can choose to unlock it for an imperial character or a republic one, a million credits at a time. :/
  20. I can understand the aggravatingly dull but time-consuming stuff required to get the HK parts to get HK-51 - that's pretty common in MMOs. I completely understand how BW wants getting the companion to actually be somewhat of an achievement - something which takes a whole lot of work to acquire. What I don't get is this: It costs 1,000,000 credits or 350 Cartel Coins to unlock HK-51 for your alts. This seems, to me, like they're just milking the cash shop using something I worked hard to get. If I unlocked it, why can't it just be unlocked for every character on my Legacy? This is totally ridiculous. I either need to spend an immense amount of credits to unlock HK-51 for all of my alts (8,000,000 credits - this would take me about four weeks to get!), and that's not considering the cost of gearing him, blah blah blah. Or I can pay 2800 Cartel Coins - about $30 USD - and give Bioware more money to finance the game with. I'm totally okay with the cash shop; I'm not okay with how it costs the player a massive amount of in-game currency just to unlock it for one's alts. This seems like they're just pushing the cash shop pretty hard, given how $30 takes much less time to earn for most people than eight million credits will. Since I craft on all of my characters, at the least, HK-51 is incredibly useful for all of these alts - but it's not 1,000,000 credits of use! If I've unlocked it, I've unlocked it; I shouldn't have to go through more steps, or repeat the entire mission over again, in order to get it for other characters on my legacy! We should really be able to have it on all of our characters without this kind of immense cost. I understand a credit sink of 100,000-200,000 credits, but 1,000,000 is absolutely ludicrous. I really don't like the attitude this suggests from Bioware - getting people to either pay a large amount of credits or a relatively small amount of money just to unlock a companion for an alt. It's encouraging the cash shop in a way that screws over the player and lacks a viable alternative. Sure, HK-51 may be optional, but I spent the time to unlock him and he's mine! It's not some silly vanity set or item or something, it's a really cool and useful companion. I don't think it should be given away for free, but could we at least lower the cost quite a bit? Jeez. :/ Making HK-51 inaccessible to the people who went through all that work to get him is just frustrating as hell.
  21. To those interested, there is now a thread on our guild forums detailing how I want to be running our guild's overarching storyline for roleplaying. The goal is to have an overarching storyline with an official 'guild canon', which is able to be added to by smaller groups of guildies on side missions/subplots or larger groups when we do bigger roleplaying stuff, allowing every possible style and role to be played through with the story. See the actual thread here.
  22. I like the Cartel Market a whole lot; I spent 1200 of my 1800 free coins on unlocking the twi'lek and zabrak racial unlocks and the rest of it on gambling boxes. It was actually quite fruitful! I don't have a problem with the gambling stuff just because it's totally optional. You can choose to buy it or you can choose to know what you're getting - it's your money and your decision.
