  1. just keep doing your dailies/weeklies, and before long you'll be crushign people again. of course there's still people more geared than you but you won't be the small fish anymore
  2. they're not that common but they're a huge boon to any team if played right. they're good at healer harrassment and burning down a priority target, plus you have some nice group buffs like 50% runspeed/10% defense and 15% damage and healing boost they can 1v1 and hold nodes well in alderaan, buying time for reinforcements lots of uses instead of just dps which many other classes can do
  3. can't you pop unleash? or are they able to double sap you? there isn't any way to avoid the sap and heal to full
  4. Sorc Assassin Marauder Powertech Merc Jug Sniper Ops there are plenty of exceptions though, like there are some great snipers, but they're few are far between
  5. as a marauder i hate well-played snipers/gunslingers the most. they're squishy but they're really hard to pin down and can just melt my hitpoints away
  6. hey good job i liked how you opened in alderaan, I'm gonna try that.
  7. couple tips for huttball: try to avoid the center unless you're grabbing the ball. try to run up to the catwalks without blowing your force leap, save it for when you get knocked off. use predation often, if you get 'unfairly' focused to near death you can pop camo pop predation and charge to the nearest health pack to give you what is essentially a 'free guy' use sweeping slash liberally to build up fury, save your force choke for the ball carrier to cross the fire vent. you can use force leap + force camo with the phantom perk to root someone on the fire and avoid taking damage yourself. phantom is also handy for crossing through the fire to chase a ball carrier/receiver, or to go for a pass yourself use force leap in the endzone to score don't worry too much about killing people unless they're: A. carrying the ball B. a healer C. spamming tracer missile/grav round with impunity or D. camping the ball spawn
  8. interesting build. ya you don't really need much damage in huttball, except it is really nice for burning down ball carriers and healers. but I suppose if you have another guy doing the dps you can get away with not having annihilate. i tend to use sweeping slash constantly as 1 battering assault almost gives you enough fury for another predation all i pretty much do is grind warzones and having a good build for huttball is valuable if you're imperial on an imba server
  9. I disagree. Each battle tells a story, more so than hitting some scripted AI mob. Having live opponents to face while carrying out quests makes the game feel more immersive and alive. Take out that element and it's just a mindless grind.
  10. A gunslinger of all classes they seem to time everything perfectly and they can melt my HP away in seconds, I have to use every cooldown plus a medpac to survive. Not only that they're extremely slippery, whenever you get the upper hand they seem to have an escape route already planned ahead. If they have a pocket healer forget it. I know they're geared to the teeth but the player knows their stuff. I'm a marauder btw
  11. give the game some time to mature a bit
  12. ya it's a game changer. it's crazy in huttball too, you can survive the fire if you get rooted or if you're getting focused while crossing into the endzone
  13. oohhh that's huge. that's great advice. I always noticed that when they casted pebbles/lightning that there tended to be a reversal of fortune in the fight. Good to know. It's usually KB->Force Lightning and I can't interrupt it for some reason
  14. Ranged classes are far easier to play in warzones, just stand at range keep spamming your attacks. Warriors you have to manage your defensive cooldowns in addition to your damage rotation, then you have to use your 'oh crap' buttons to keep from getting roflstomped. oh assassins and shadows btw can be like "lolnope, not dying" as they hit their DoT wipe and disappear buttons you can make it work OP, but I get what you're saying rank 57 Marauder, champ/sent gear
  15. I pretty much found out around level 30 that they didn't intend for world pvp, and that rolling on a pvp server was pointless. I think the devs probably just tagged servers as pvp because people demanded it without even playing the game. I remember the Warhammer Online devs said there weren't going to be pvp servers initially, and we thought they were insane, then we tried the game and found out we were partitioned off except for the designated RVR areas. The devs of these games don't fully grasp the fact that there is an apetite for this gameplay
  16. annihilation marauder with points in phantom and ferocity you're going to be playing a lot of huttball, may as well be able to run fast and through fire if need be. plus you'll be able to burn down healers and ball carriers np

    Is SWTOR dying?

your post is more disingenuous than Warren Buffett when he claims he's not taxed enough
  18. especially after you popped predation (the group run speed buff)
  19. cool. I noticed you didn't pop frenzy/bloodthirst
  20. don't be so hard on wz quitters. you how bad some of the PUGs are. When everyone is 1v1ing and not doing basic stuff to secure a win, I'm not going to throw myself on the grenade repeatedly, I'm just not. I stick out most games but if our team is a debacle from the word go, then I'm out.
  21. one of the problems with illum is it's kind of weird for someone new. I got there and thought, what the hell am I supposed to do? People want ot just flippin kill eachother, without a lot of extra crap involved: Zone in to a smallish/medium sized zone, the enemy is nearby, there is a structure in the middle of the map that either side is trying to hold. Limit how many each side can zone in for balance.
  22. my suspicion is that they haven't optimized the game enough for massive pvp fights. even high end rigs are experiencing choppiness. Warzones they can control more than jus tletting people zerg Anyone ever play DAOC? They need zones like Thindraki where it's a persistent warzone, you zone in and fight. Sometimes there's small skirmishes, sometimes huge fights centered around the keep in the middle. If the zone fills up another instance spawns. I guess illum is a similar idea but it doesn't feel the same at all. another thing about warzones. many times people just go in there purely to pk other people, with no care about the objectives. I think this is because warzones are pretty much the only place you can reliably pk folks. If you had more open world pvp I think PUGs would in effect be more objective-minded.
  23. this has been my experience too, but I'm one of the only rauders actually crazy enough to use predation (there's another guy but I think he's bitin' my style haha)
  24. holy crap, going from frequenting a political forum to a gaming forum is like going from an office building into an insane asylum.
