  1. As most of you know, belts and braces are currently not in "slotted form", meaning with item modification slots in the pvp version. However, since belt and braces are available with slots, it would be more efficient for pvp to pick lvl 61 pve armor and lvl 61 pvp mod and put in both items (assuming you can still move the pve armoring peices in to anything). This would require pvpers to do pve endgame content for the best pvp gear, which is something that is not intended, right? I am hoping that I missed something, else I have to start raiding again
  2. So i got some questions about your build, why are you keeping dark ward and hollow if like you said, you are not using a shield generator? And why torment over duplicity?
  3. I would really advice against putting those 2 poitns in Torment, and add them to duplicity instead, to make maul a viable option, the reduction in force cost is hardly noticeable, and maul is one of the strongest hitting skills, even though it require you to be behind the enemy...
  4. Imo, and i stated it a couple of times here now, is that "tank gear", aka survivor gear is near useless for pvp. Granted, it gives more hp, but the "defensive stats" rely on shield procs, which only apply to white damage. (non force or tech). Atm I have only stalker (and some force master items, like offhand, when stats is all that matters, set bonus alredy achieved), and I am doing very good in pvp. granted, you don't have that high burst without adrenal/relics, but with this set up I am pretty sure you have the best damage:survivabillity rateo of all classes and specs. My advice would be to go with this spec, and use the basic rotation of shock, wither, saber strike untill chock commes off cool down, and then force lightening with 3 stack of that fancy thingy i never remember the name of. You will of course have to adapt to different situations, and use maul when proc'ed, and assassinate whenever possible. Taunts is also your friend, and the rest you will probably be able to figure out on your own Edit: you will also be a rather undisireable target for the other teams damage dealers, because of your long TTK, leaving you more time to slowly but surely kill your targets If i remember correctly, my max damage in a warzone was somewhere around 440k, so you won't be at the bottom of the food chain damage wise either.
  5. So what we can learn from that interview is that tanks in fact should roll in dps gear, unless they plan to only fight snipers and use taunts instead of their offensive abillities. Good to know
  6. My thoughts exactly. The problem with shield, and tank gear by extension, is that it is only viable against white damage, meaning it is only viable against snipers. Most other classes mainly rely on, or at least have semi good yelow damageing skills, rendiner your shield completly useless, and a ton of attack power short. However, if you are running with darknes spec, I recomend getting the armoring from tank set (if you have time to get a second set of war hero) for the set bonus, which is much better then the stalker equivalent, with 20 cd spike, and 5% more damage output while guarding.

Don't know what other people use, so can only speak for myself, but atm I only use shock, wither and maul if proced, appart from force lightening (and auto attack as filler), and if I remember the cd correctly, that only gives a 6.5 sec "stack time" for 3 HD. 12% healing is prefered to your "smart way of pontentially avoiding CC"

  10. I must say I am surprised how silly people have replied in this thread... Most are off topic, or just "I am currently at an advantage, and I don't see why you should have the same rewards for doing same job" comments... Anyhow, I think it would be fair to make the medals 5k in 4 sec and 10k in 4 sec instead of just 1 big hit, to even out the discrepancy between dot and instant damage classes. But in all fairness, the inability to get the high hit medals is nothing compared to the advantages sage/sorcs have from being able to get both damage and healing medals rather easily (from shield counting as heal) or vanguard/powertech/assassin/shadow damage+protection. Therefore I think it is very unlikely that this issue will be addressed any time soon...
  11. Havn't you noticed? they fixed that by introducing the sound bug along with 1.2, so instead of the report spam, you hear a constant, calming (yea right), electric buzz. Good one bioware!
  12. Is the stats on them any good? or same as the other sold by vender before update? (41 expertise ish)
  13. I have 4 50's and lvling 2 more atm... The main issue is the low pop on some servers that made me move to a more populated one and leave 3 of my 50s and my lvl 31 legacy behind :S Another reason why I didn't stick to one char was that there wasn't much to do when dailys where done before if you are pvp focused....

  15. As the title say I would like to get some advice (and links please?) to which build you think I should go with for best chance to win against other classes in 1 vs 1. I am fairly new to Assassins, so don't have a lot of knowledge of the class.
  16. dude, they had a 90 sec CD before, are you telling us you don't kill a group of normal mobs faster then that so you could use it twice before the update? I don't get it...
  17. I have not counted, but currently at 66 valor and lack 4 peices. I will however point out that when I only had one left for main hand, I got 16 in a row without any, that's a .75^16 chance of that happening, ijs...
  18. Bubble protect against a numeric amount of damage, and this amount is increased by 20% if specked, its no damage reduction thingy... (Negates about 3-4k of damage with my gear, I guess)

  21. Would be nice if they added how many from the other faction were on the same planet as you as well/how many online on each faction on each server... "omg I found a frame where 20 enemies are visible and we are only 15, lets take a screenshot" is nothing to base an argument on. I can only talk about my server, Chuundar, since it is the only server I tested, but I would guess, that at least on later levels, imps outnumber imperials between 2:1 and 3:1, and that is not the way to have an interesting open world pvp. Especially since on ilum you get bonus valor if you hold all the objective points, ie if have more people, you get 200ish valor per kill, while the other side gets 20, on top of that you, on account of sheer numbers, have the advantage. If anything the amount of valor, and "e-penor" gained by killing people on places like Ilum should be 1:1 if you cap the number of participants, but if not, be adjusted so if you have half the numbers, you get twice as much. not half the numbers 10 times less.

I should point out however, that I once got booted in hutball when I just joined, the door closed in my face just as i came up to it, and did not have enough time to wait for next. The explanation to why this happened is that apparently you spawn in the instance at about 2/3rds of the loading screen, when you can start hearing what is happening inside. And if you (like me) are playing on a laptop with slow HDD and a i7 processor, the loading screens are really slow... (they tend to only run at one core, for the most part)
  23. This is so silly... 1. Someone who have spent more time then you collecting gear will, and should, have better gear, be it from farming flashpoints or warzones. If you want exact duplicates of everyone else's characters handed to you when you log in, go play an fps. If there where nothing to strive for, and no gradation to how good gear the community have, then why have 50 levels to get through, instead of just getting all skills and stats in a bag at lvl 1? 2. That you can't open bags before you hit 50 is not really necessary, but understandable. You can still have 6 bags by the time you hit 50, but as i understand it, the point is that there is lower level pvp gear too, lvl 20 and lvl 40. If you get those too, and do your class quest, you would be hard pressed to hit 1000/1000 comms before you hit 50. The design is to "force" players in to the story of the game. 3. Expertise is not THAT much of a difference. You say you get 2 shot at level 50? first of all, most 50's have about 12k hp by default, so that would mean 2x6k hits on you, and that is impossible unless you stack pots and the buff buckets in game with trinkets, and that can happen at the most once every 3 min. I have 54 valor that I gained from doing flashpoints, and I have yet to be hit for anything higher then 3.5k, even though I'm a squishy LA user. With almost full champion gear I have 10.5% expertise if memory serve, meaning 20% more damage ratio then default, and that is not nearly as much as you make it out to be. Try to stick with your team more, on his own, even a player with full battlemaster gear gets wasted really quick... /end rant
