  1. I can validate that this is NOT affecting everyone. I don't have these issues. That being said, I understand your frustration. What I can tell you is that because the issue is not affecting everyone, it is probably much harder to diagnose. I work in I.T., and I would rather have the whole network drop any day of the week, than have 20% of my users at random locations lose connectivity. (in relation to problem solving, that is. Obviously, I'd rather no one lose connectivity).
  2. I have to disagree with a few things here. "It's lonely at the top" - This may have applied a while ago - but currently, on my average populated server, most of my guild is level 50, PVP que's during normal hours are plenty quick, FP's are being run, and we are making significant progress in operations. I'm not lonely In regards to which player base makes the money - if you look at the industry dominator (WoW) - you'll note that leveling is now a trivial process. A recent blizzard post even confirmed that the game has changed, and End-Game is now the largest portion of play-time in modern MMO gaming.
  3. I did a grand total of three pvp matches before 50 - and I was there in about 2 weeks from launch. As others have said - don't let your own experience / speed lay judgement on others.
  4. I'd have to disagree with this a bit. Unless that marauder is REALLY good, I will rip them apart... between Pulse Detonator, Aimed Shot Knockback, and a short CD legshot most melee stands little chance of getting hits in on me.
  5. The stats are different. You lost some stats on the shield vs the focus.
  6. A couple things come to mind to help this unfortunate situation: 1) You can give the item to a companion. Do you have any that can use it? 2) You can yank the mods - to be used in lots of other gear, they are 56 epics - way worth the yanking price.
  7. Greetings AeonicStorm, Very comprehensive write up. If I may suggest two things: 1) I would recommend you take a quick pass through and "calm" down the text a bit. It gets a bit inflammatory at times. 2) You may want to relocate this. It appears to be a guide targeted at PvP for tank types.
  8. Hey Tharag - Unfortunately this is not quite how it works. Remember that leveling in an MMO is an exponential curve. What we also know, from years of MMO study and existence, is that players will create new Alts, try them out, and then discard them. This creates what is known as "population skew". What might end up happening because of this, with brackets, is 10 minute waits for level 10 characters and 2+ hour waits for, say, level 30-40 players. *Note that this is an approximation and for explanations sake only*.
  9. Greetings Ripebear, If you open your character sheet and mouse over the accuracy statistic - you get a very nice breakdown of how accuracy is currently affecting you. If you dual wield (Sentinel, Marauder), it will also show you the difference between your offhand and main hand. I would recommend making sure you special attacks and main attacks are at or above 100%. Anything beyond that focuses on lowering your enemies defenses (kind of like penetration, cutting through armor, etc).
  10. Greetings Tharag - I apologize if you know this - but there is a buff applied to you in warzones that equalizes your stats. Now, understandably a higher level may have an advantage merely by number of available abilities for a given situation. Remember this is a double-edged sword. The more brackets - the longer your wait to participate in PvP will be.
  11. I have experienced some of the issues you described. All of our tickets seem to be handled appropriately. My suggestion would be to make sure you include all the information (gear, characters, loot rules, boss, etc). Let's try and stay constructive. I understand it is frustrating but being calm and clear can help both BW,EA, and all the developers solve these issues.
  12. Greetings Friend - May I suggest you re-post this in the Suggestion Box Forum, located here: http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=349 Hopefully, there you can have some constructive discussion about the topic.
  13. Agreed... your talking in the ballpark of 25-30k credits an hour (being generous) based upon the OP's numbers. I can make more than that on several activities - including dailies and space missions...

  15. At the top of the general forum is a suggestion sub-forum. I would re-post that there.
  16. Currently, yes, that would make you neutral. And after 10k you lower the other side - no way to bypass that that I know of.
  17. Let's remember to make posts that are constructive. I agree with the concept you are getting at. See my post above yours.
  18. To the OP: First off, let me say I understand your frustration. I know of difficult situations I have encountered, and I get it. However, do remember that multiple people play this game. The great thing is, they have not restricted you from grouping for your class quests! I don't mean to sound crass with this either, but rather that it is a valid solution. Other things covered in this thread that I will touch on: 1) CC - Don't underestimate the value of short CCs. On my first 50, for example, (who is a smuggler gunslinger) I don't have a single huminoid CC over 8 seconds. BUT - when timed right, and using the correct companion - I can combine three abilities to keep a melee mob off of me and my companion for a combined 20+ seconds. That is HUGE. 2) Stims / Medpacks - This is just a must. Always have medpacks, always have stims. Period. 3) Gearing your companions - There were two seperate fights while leveling up my smugger where I had to stop, go gear up a companion that I hadn't been using, and come back and beat the fight. You have an assorted set of companions for a reason. Leverage this. 4) To my first point above: Invite a friend. Your class quest allows you to bring in help. If you are stuck and are someone who doesn't enjoy the challenge - this is your best option. In Summary: I would say - keep in mind that a large percentage of the population enjoys failing several times on solo quests. The great part is - you can mitigate that if you bring other players. However, if they go the other way and tune the content lower, those of us enjoying a single player challenge cannot adjust the situation as easily. ./2cents
  19. Rather funny of you to post on a public forum with the statement "Between you and me" ... =P (just poking fun)
  20. To the left of your name on the character pane there is a small button. Click to select titles.
  21. I am not derailing the conversation - you said third party sites are not valid. By that, my question is perfectly logical. Your first post, the OP of the thread, is very scattered. So - what would you actually like out of this thread? If you are suggesting a new feature - please move this to the suggestion box forum as general is not the place. If you have questions - my post with a link answered them.
  22. If third party sites are not valid - I assume you never use Wikipedia for any of your information in any aspect of your life?
