Because GEAR makes you pro...

^This I got into a discussion with a coworker today about gear. Personally, I skipped wow, hated the demand for gear. So I've been out of the mmo loop for some time now. But I argued that pvp should be based on player skill more than gear. His argument was that players who spend more time developing their characters deserve an advantage. IMO, I've you're top lvl, your character is already developed. Gear should be just an enchancement. Not the cornerstone of your ability to fight. Regardless, I'll have to grind WZs for gear, become an ALT addict or just quit.

Actually, I DID expect to hit 50 and continue to whoop ***. I guess I'm used to fps', learn my favorite kit and get good with it. I'm not used to gear based games... I'm running saboteur right now. I actually got 6 medals today. Mainly because they only had 2 sorcs. It's the games where I run into 6 sorcs... Ugh.

Ha! I used all my commendations at 50. I got 2 pairs of champ boots. ***!? I've been trying to get my dailys done, but it's hard when we lose 80% of the time. Playing alts lately...

I love the GS. I was always at the top of WZs in dps and kills. But now that I'm 50 with mediocre gear, I can't hang. I'm getting between 1-3 medals in WZ and Ilum is a joke. So how are the new 50s supposed to get pvp gear?

You dont use 1/2 of them. Some are PVE only (head shot) but you dont find that out until you spam it in pvp and realize nothing is happening. Some abilities are redundant. It takes a while to figure it out. Just rotate Charge Burst, speed shot, quick draw and Aimed shot. Have Dirsty kick, leg shot and flash nade as your CC. Also use Dodge, screen defense and cool head for defense and energy. good luck

254,000 (50 kills, 20 death blows)on Voidstar. Only reason I got this was my team was amazing. I don't think I died once. Just sat back and rained death. But my average is 140k

I noticed my DPS is lower, but my kills and killing blows are about the same.

Ive been maxed out at 1000 & 1000 commendation. The pvp gear skips from 40 to 50. I'll check the Market once I hit 50, which should be today.

So I need to finish my story in order to do Ilum missions? I'm on Voss now, so I'm almost there.

I know, I'm a noob and it's a stupid question. But I mainly play alone, rarely get groups for FPs and primarily level from WZs. I'm 49 now with crap gear. How should I go about getting better gear? I was just going to wait until I hit 50 and buy stuff from the pvp vendors on the space station.

1. UO - full loot, guild warring, murder system, balance of gear vs abilities, Chaos vs Order, 4 factions, Etc! 2. Daoc - RvR, 3 factions, balanced gear and abilities, purpose to fight. 3. WAR - but I never saw end game.

I'm about to hit 49. My gear is pooh but I still top the charts in WZs. I really don't understand the gear system. There are hardly any players on to run FPs for gear...
