  1. There are two seasons in Texas: Football and Off.
  2. Yoda: No more training do you require. Already know you, that which you need. Luke: Then I am a Jedi. Yoda: No. Not yet. One thing remains. Vader. You must confront Vader. Then, only then, a Jedi will you be. And confront him you will. Luke wasn't a jedi at the beginning on Return. He had to go through his trials. For him, his trials amounted to one thing: defeat Darth Vader. He succeeded and only then was an actual jedi. And yes, I do mean that he defeated Vader ... from a certain point of view. When Luke was able to reach through and connect with Anakin Skywalker--that was the point where Vader was defeated and Anakin redeemed.
  3. We do know, however, that the legacy level requirement can be bypassed through the expenditure of cartel coins on everything currently in the Legacy window. If the Legacy level requirement remains on Treek even in the CC option, then it would be inconsistent with the current system in place there. Note: I'm not saying that's a good thing or a bad thing. Honestly, I want some stuff where the requirement for a high legacy level cannot be bypassed. But, as it looks now, that's not happening.
  4. The former Blizzard guy is a bit of an egotist, isn't he? That whole "must get to endgame" mindset didn't start with WoW. It didn't even really get bigger with WoW, at least when measured as a proportion of the audience. That mindset was alive and well in EQ, too. People would constantly ask for the best places to grind for xp. Those places would constantly be busy, with people waiting in lines to take up the camps. The Bazaar (and the Greater Faydark and EC tunnel before it) was constantly filled with fungi tunics and centi longswords and other non-soulbound equipment that low-levels could use to make leveling and surviving much easier. Wizards and Druids were constantly on the lookout for places to quad kite for fast experience and some cash. Hell. A couple of WoW's original designers was one of the elitist raid guild leaders from EQ. It's just part of the gamer mindset. Has it been exacerbated by WoW? Maybe. Did WoW make it more visible? Certainly. But it was hardly the cause. The problem comes when people don't realize that "accessibility" and "challenge" are not mutually exclusive terms.
  5. Taco Bell is overall not good. Taco Casa is the ultimate in the "Mexican" fast food arena, followed by The Bueno and Del Taco. That said, the Doritos tacos are damn tasty. I'll pass on the sour cream, though. That stuff is horrible.
  6. Actually, the ewoks are incredibly aggressive and violent as a species. They couldn't really show it in the movie due to the "kid-friendly" aspect Lucas enjoyed and the limitations of the actors and special effects in general in the early 80s. But, ewoks are a savage and brutal species. What do you think they did to those stormtroopers whose helmets they took to use as percussion instruments? Back when SWG launched, there was one NPC type in the game that I truly feared: ewoks. THey were vicious little bastards. Of course not. The DSII had to be started well before 4ABY. If it takes four years to widen a 10-mile stretch of highway, it's going to take many years to build a space station the size of a small moon, even assuming the dramatic increase in construciton technology and techniques.. Endor had to have been discovered well before the original Star Wars trilogy. The only real thing Endor has is natural resources--lots of wood, for example. now imagine a tiny species of vicious warriors who worship the trees. They'd take out any attempted logging operation with a quickness. And, since most civilized planets have moved beyond the use of wood for construction, they need for a high quantity of lumber is not as great as it is here in the real world. It's very likely that Endor just never became widely known until the battle that took place there in the Galactic Civil War. Retcon? Sure. But not all retcons are bad. For example: if Episode 7 retcons the Yuuzhan Vong, then the Star Wars universe will be all the better for it.
  7. Same here. So long, Doc. Totally going to get her for my Marauder, too. Tank and heals? I'll never have to gear another companion again. And my Shadow. As much as I love Holiday, Tharan drives me nuts. My Powertech and Vanguard will keep using Mako and Elara, respectively. The couple that slays together stays together, after all.
  8. I hate when people do this, but, in this case, it is an effective tool. Fixed. Mark Hamill was a passable actor. And he got better as the series went along. You know, like most actors who get better as they gain experience. He's also prima voice talent, and that's just as much acting as what most people think of when they hear "acting." The Ewoks were not nearly as cheesy as Jar-Jar, just from their appearance in Return. Add in the cartoon and the movies, and, yes, they were pretty bad. But, as a culture of superstitious warriors, they fit the bill pretty well, despite their small stature. There was no incestuous relationship until Lucas finalized the script for Return of the Jedi, which didn't happen until he started filming Return of the Jedi. Check out Splinter of the Mind's Eye. it was the "sequel" to Star Wars before Lucas found out he was going to be able to make a real sequel to the movie. Luke and Leia were the originally intended pair, and I don't think Lucas would have intentionally put in an incestuous relationship. I think if he had originally planned to have Luke and Leia be siblings, then he would have had Foster rewrite the overtones of that novel. You're right. We're not 12 anymore. Or, in my case, I'm not eight months old anymore. The audience--the fandom--of Star Wars has gotten older. The universe has matured along with us. We expect newer movies to take that into account. You can totally make a movie that the original fans will love and make it extremely accessible to children. Want an example? Looney Tunes. There's so much in those cartoons that only adults will understand. Kids laugh and laugh at the surface, but the adults enjoy the depth of the jokes there. It can be the same with Star Wars. There can be some depth in space opera. It doesn't have to be all moustache-twirling evil and bumbling alien buffoons.
  9. Rather than put my entire sob story here, I'll sum it up. I've been playing since early access. My attempt at making a guild failed because the friends who joined it flaked out. I've been pretty much solo since then, with the odd flashpoint or Heroic mission being the exception. Honestly, it's pretty par for the course for me. The last solid guild I had was in EQ and SWG. So, now I'm looking for a guild. Specifically, I'm looking for an active Republic RP guild. One that doesn't mind that my Jedi are fairly heretical (being more like Zeison Sha than Jedi). One that roleplays all the time, and not just on pre-planned nights or only in the cantinas. One that doesn't think raiding is the devil. One that might like to have a new Guardian tank, or would support an attempt to make a new op group. I wouldn't fit in a military-themed guild. I wouldn't fit in a strict Jedi Order-themed guild. My characters are too free-spirited to really mesh well in those things. Anyone interested in such a stable of characters?
  10. Microsoft doesn't require a Live subscription to play MMOs. Or, if they do, it's a recent change.
  11. I use it quite often, actually. I use it to help with champions when I'm soloing them. I don't *need* to use it, but Orbital Strike does a fair amount of damage, and it doesn't use any resources. So, it knocks off a chunk of hp from the mob (and can usually take out any lower-strength friends it may have), which helps things go more quickly and smoothly.
  12. And that's not EQ's design. That started with WoW and EQ2. In EQ, most non-spell damage was autoattack, with a few triggered abilities, such as Backstab for rogues, Taunt for Warriors, and so on. Fighter-types had some cooldown abilities (some with extremely long cooldowns in the hours range), but otherwise, it was pretty much just hitting your autoattack key and seeing if you outlast the mob. Spellcasters had more options, but they were limited to eight spells prepared at any one time. There were no multiple hotbars of abilities. You had eight spell slots, and that was it. People wanted more, so EQ2 and WoW made it so that people would be more involved in their combat by using larger numbers of special abilities. It's what people wanted.
  13. Sorry, Bioware, but DarthAeonis will still send you two more letters that discuss how much he loves you, and how grand life will be after your marriage. In his mind, you are married and hopelessly in love with each other, even though you were quite adamant about not getting together. After those three letters, though, you'll never hear from him again, but he'll be there, in the periphery of your life, waiting for you.
  14. "You can't have two number ones." "Yeah. 'Cause that'd be eleven."
  15. No, but you need to equip it. Or, if it's already equipped, moving it into your inventory should work.
  16. Back in my day, I had this awesome console called a Dreamcast. It had a keyboard you could buy to use with games like Phantasy Star Online. Also, the Super NES had a mouse peripheral that came with Mario Paint. It's not unheard of for these peripherals to be released for consoles. The problem for the Xbox would be Microsoft's insistence that every game use the controller. Both consoles would require the game engine to be slightly reworked to work with their respective OSes. It would probably be less work on the Xbox than the PS4 It would still be work that EA might not be ready to do, especially considering they have yet to make a MacOS version of the client and that MMOs tend not to do well on consoles outside of Asia.
  17. Actually, as I recall Musco's post, he said they wouldn't be on the floor. Just because EA's not devoting floor space to TOR doesn't mean they're not going to announce anything. Best not to get one's hopes up only to be dashed on the rocks later on, but the possibility remains. He did say no big announcements, though, so I wouldn't imagine an expansion would be revealed. That would leave stuff like new warzone, new event, new operation or flashpoint, and so on. Not really worth devoting a lot of time in their presentation.
  18. I think Tara Strong could pull it off well. I don't think I've heard her use a Brit accent before, though. Want a different experience from Ms. Strong, though? Roll up a Consular. Holiday is also her work. Risha and Holiday are pretty different. In fact, if you were to take those voices just a bit more out to the edges, you'd have Raven and Bubbles. That thought makes me happy.
  19. Nope. This (same outfit, different colors) looks nothing like a Power Ranger outfit.
  20. Yep. Her Star Wars credits are extensive. For a TOR connection, she was Brianna, the Last handmaiden, in KOTOR 2. Also Lena, Griff's girlfriend, in KOTOR1, as I recall.
  21. You're infamous, and I bet you have a plethora of gifts.
  22. And Wonder Girl in SBFF. You cannot forget her. ... SBFF is awesome. Well, it was. I'm sadly not expecting anymore to be made.
  23. I believe it would be a nice "quality of life" addition to the GTN interface if the sell window could look at your current auctions and set the price of what your selling to an identical auction that's already posted. So, if I'm selling a number of light gray/dark red dye modules, it would be nice if the sell window would remember my asking price for the first one and automatically apply it to all the ones that follow. I don't think it should keep a history or anything--just look at what I'm currently selling and match if possible.
