  1. They're not the Rebellion. They're the Resistance, which I'm thinking is a New Republic-funded and led organization opposing the First Order, which is a group of Imperial remnants that holds control over a number of systems still. The scope of TFA is smaller than the OT, it seems. At least to start out.
  2. I'll just put this here. Enjoy it at your leisure. http://www.houstonpress.com/arts/no-it-s-not-your-opinion-you-re-just-wrong-updated-7611752
  3. It's been stated twice already. You'll have Shadows of Revan and KotFE active on Tuesday when the expansion goes live.
  4. Ah. I misunderstood. My bad there. And one that I like. It goes along with Return of the Jedi. "Oh, he's dressed in black. That's bad. He choked a guard! That's bad.... Green lightsaber! He's still good!" Obvious to you and me, yet I still see this theory bandied about. It's even appeared in this very thread, which is why I addressed it. As I said above, I like it. Luke was always the focus of the first three movies. Let's establish the new kids first and then bring in the mentor (and hopefully not just kill him off immediately).
  5. No. Andy Serkis was voicing his own character, the First Order's Supreme Leader Snoke. It's good to hear that Kylo's not going to be another Darth Maul, though. Such a wasted character that they finally made good use of in TCW. Well, he was there, even if you couldn't see his face. He was the cloaked figure putting his cybernetic right hand on R2-D2. No, he's not Kylo Ren. It's assumed that one of the major plotlines of the film will be finding Luke Skywalker in his self-imposed exile. I'm guessing that once the New Republic was established, Luke decided he needed to go on walkabout to teach himself about the Force, since no one was left who could instruct him. He's not had time to build a Jedi Order because he's been slowly rediscovering things from old ruined temples, holocrons, writings and so on. Imagine trying to teach yourself calculus with just an algebra book. He had to go find more sources and teach himself everything.
  6. Yeah. That sucks. Completely different issue, and I hope it's resolved for you quickly.
  7. You chose during that time period, yes. But you weren't a subscriber for that time period. "To qualify for the Early Access Bonus, you must have qualified for each of the four rewards by being a subscriber on each of the 4 listed reward dates." You were not a subscriber on August 10. Therefore, you did not qualify.
  8. http://www.swtor.com/fallen-empire/rewards Notice the asterisk? That means there's more info below. The asterisk is by "Terms and Conditions," one of which is:
  9. From the KotFE page. You had to be subscribed on August 10 and three other specific dates spaced roughly a month apart. Since you subscribed in September, You missed the date. It was originally July 31, but they moved it back to let more people in on it. Sorry. i missed it, too. Makes me sad that I can't get Nico, but c'est la vie.
  10. Kylo Ren looks at Vader's helmet because the Knights of Ren basically worship Vader. Kylo seems to be their champion, as it looks like he's the only one with a saber.
  11. Horrible idea, especially since it's not supported by the lore. Tell me if you've heard this story before. This 18-year old kid, Luke Skywalker, discovers he's the son of a powerful Jedi who apparently died around the time he was born. He learns this from an old family friend, Obi-Wan "Ben" Skywalker, himself a Jedi. Needing to go to Alderaan to help the Princess Leia Skywalker, Ben takes Luke to Mos Eisley, where he meets up with a freighter pilot, Captain Han Skywalker. Han agrees to take them to Alderaan for an exorbitant amount of money. Upon reaching Alderaan, they find that the planet has been destroyed by the Death Star, a powerful superweapon. Han's ship is taken inside. The group shuts down the tractor beam and rescues the princess, and they make their escape from the space station. Later on, Han and Leia arrive in Cloud City, run by an old friend of Han's, Baron Administrator Lando Skywalker. Lando betrays Han and the others to the Empire. Han is frozen in carbonite, and he is taken by the bounty hunter Boba Skywalker. Luke finds out that Darth Vader is his father, Anakin Skywalker, and he is redeemed as he kills both the Emperor and himself to restore balance to the Force. I guess I should also add that Anakin's former student, Ahsoka Skywalker, was instrumental in helping form the Rebellion against the Empire. ... And that's what the currently Legacy system does. The Star Wars movies are about the Skywalker Legacy. Every major and supporting character in those movies (and The Clone Wars) is a part of the Skywalker legacy. Most of them have different family names. It's only in the EU that we see other legacies (and, yes, there is a Solo legacy, and Luke is a part of it). I hate to say this, because it's never as easy as it seems, but all it would take is something like a /lastname command like in EQ to assign a surname to a character that can be displayed if they want. Keep the Legacy title as it is.
  12. I understand this is a troll post, but I'm sure enough people actually feel this way that I'll say this: If you're using reusable medpacs and stims, then you have Biochem, and you can craft consumables, too. Don't buy from the "wealthy fat cats," and just craft your own.
  13. The only way to get rid of gold spammers is for players to stop buying their product. Bioware can do things to curn their omnipresence and make it more difficult to do what they do, but it's not Bioware that keeps them around. It's the players that actually buy their credits and keep them in business.
  14. Treek is a different case, as she's purely a cartel market item. HK is gained through a questline. If you don't want to pay the million credits or 350 cc to unlock him, you can still do the quest line to get him for "free." That said, I wouldn't mind a legacy unlock for him. I don't play the market, so I don't have a ton of credits just lying around, and I have other things I'd rather spend CC on.
  15. I'd go for it. I'd love for all my characters to have their proper family names. A few of my characters are related, but not all of them. I'd actually like to see the Legacy system redone as far as last names and the family tree go. The family tree could be renamed to Relationship Tree or something, and the grid should allow for free placement and connection of characters to each other. Then, last names should be separate form the Legacy name, which can still be used as a Legacy title. That's probably beyond the scope of a F2P game, though. It'd be nice, but I won't hold my breath.
  16. Clones wouldn't even necessarily have to be involved. The Emperor has withdrawn for years, even decades, at a time, leaving the Empire in the hands of the Dark Council. During these times, he's had his Wrath and the Hand to take care of his personal agendas, but he's obviously not in control of the Sith Empire anymore, and he hasn't been for some time. It's quite possible that the Emperor, being so old and powerful, has transcended his original body and no longer needs it. We know that he can possess other beings to interact physically with the world. Valkorion could be a being that the Emperor has inhabited long-term over the centuries to build up this other Empire. Cloning could be involved, though. One of the side quests on Korriban involves going around and scanning Sith lords at the Academy with a device to measure the amount of Pureblood DNA left in their bloodlines. Most (if not all) of these lords are human. Valkorion could be a clone or suitably physically-compatible being that Vitiate can readily inhabit. He could also simply be the greatest of the Emperor's Children, much like the First Son, who works toward Vititate's goals without knowing it and then gives up himself when Vitiate requires it. This game has put out so many ways that Vitiate and Valkorion could be the same person (or at least one being the vessel for the other), that we can't at all say with any certainty that they aren't. Personally, I hope they are. Marr is certainly convinced of it, and this whole expansion seems completely out of left field otherwise.
  17. I like that they've pretty much stuck to the era of the movies and afterward for the new canon so far. Sure, we've lost a lot of cool stuff (for now, anyway, like Thrawn and Isard and the Legacy Era), but we've lost some stuff that I didn't like, as well (looking straight at the Yuuzhan Vong right now. Good riddance). But, if you've been reading the books, a lot of that EU stuff is being brought back into the new canon, but now in a more planned-out way. The Hundred-Year Darkness? Canon. Taris is canon, though the events it's been tied to in the past may not be. Ishi Tib is a canon species. The sexual dimorphism of the Devaronian species is canon. Darth Bane is canon. So, it may come to pass that Revan is indeed a canon character. But, I hope that he's toned down to be more in line with everything else. Just like Starkiller, he's a bit too powerful for canon, but he makes for a great video game character. I think we'll see more fan favorite characters return in the future. I'm just glad that it'll happen in a way that meshes with everything else rather than trying to fit into various, muddying levels of canon.
  18. You saw the end of the Old Republic in the prequels. Lost Stars takes place during the time of the original trilogy--not in the "Old Republic Era," which is currently Legends material. It has no connection to this game at all.
  19. That's it. Imperial Dancer top and legs, Satele's boots and gloves, Covert Energy wrist and belt. Black/red dye module. The saber, I think, is the Campaign saber, if I remember correctly, with a cyan-blue crystal.
  20. I finally made an assassin. I like the Shadow, but my friends decided they needed to play Imperial. This character was originally a togruta, but I decided the name would be better on a white-haired human. So, I present Taarnah: Action pose! https://56ffd07db3e659c15fa01ddef0808e9a7ffac8bb.googledrive.com/host/0B7JnsXbMUr8ub1hCbV9wbFBQZmc Waiting for that sithspit mob to spawn for the Rishi datacron: https://4b4937d831194d66f40a510924989120644c106f.googledrive.com/host/0B7JnsXbMUr8uUi0zNFd5ajlUZXM I realized about three days after I finished this outfit that it looks about as close to the movie Taarna as you can probably get in this game. That made me unexpectedly happy. I just thought the name was cool. I tried to get more pics, but my ability to take screenshots seems to be hit or miss. More miss lately.
  21. I'm assuming he means the character's major accomplishments. But I can't resist being a ********.
  22. I'm going to say Cipher Nine probably has at least these feats and maybe more: Quick Draw, Point-Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Rapid Shot and Shot on the Run as well as Dodge and Mobility. Then, the Operative would likely pick up Stealthy Skill Focus: Move Silently. The Sniper would get Far Shot and Weapon Focus: Sniper Rifle. That's a lot of feats, though. Some of these might be baked into the Agent as class features so you don't have to be Human to get them all.
  23. That's not really true. We don't have these schematics. There are currently no schematics that give Mastery. So, if you want to keep schematics for mods that give Strength, Aim, Cunning and Willpower, I guess they could do that, but they're wholly useless.
  24. If it works like it does in other games with similar mechanics, then gear will matter. So, say you're a fresh 65. You go back to Coruscant or DK and get leveled down to 18. You now have stats of level 18 character. You're likely in greens or blues, and so you're going to have stats equivalent to that. However, you'll also have stats that simply don't appear in normal gear of that level. For example, tanks will have defense and shield. Now, as you get better and better gear, your average item rating goes up. So, say, for sake of an example, that rating 225 is fresh 65 gear. After a few flashpoints, ops or daily areas, you've got some nice purple gear, rating 245. You're noticeably better than a brand new 65. If you go back to the capital worlds, you'll be noticably better than a regular level 18 character, and noticeably better than you were before. It's not going to be as big a jump as it is at 65, maybe. But it'll be noticeable. Things will die quickly. You'll be moving through the Heroic 2+ weeklies with a quickness, whether with a group or alone.
