  1. If he does play Maul, then they need to dub over him again like they did in TPM, but this time they need to use Sam Witwer's voice for it.
  2. I'd urge you to do the same. There are no class-specific missions, but there is some very class-specific dialogue in there, as mentioned earlier.
  3. Yeah. it's not the healer companions. Taking the GSI heroic 2+ on makeb, for example (Tatooine and Alderaan work for this, too), I interrupt Artillery every time I see it. If I can. Sometimes, I have both Hilt Strike and Force Stasis on CD, and my interrupt isn't going to get off CD soon enough. But I'm not worried. I have enough DR not to worry about it. It's a better expenditure of my time to just eat the Artillery and maybe put up a defensive CD or something. That's when I'm alone, though. When I'm in groups, say in HM flashpoints, I know to stand in stuff. The problem is not the healing companions--it's the players themselves. If they're not pulling their weight in groups, kick them. If your Marauder/Sentinel is just standing in a cleave, warn him, then kick him if he does it again. If your sniper/GS decides not to move out of cover to get out of an AE, warn him and kick him if he doesn't straighten up. And so on. Don't blame the companions. They may be that good at low levels, but at high levels, that mega presence some of us have doesn't help nearly as much as it used to.
  4. Think of Dragon Age: Origins. The Prologue through Chapter 3 were the origins. We're now at Ostagar. I'd certainly like to see more class stories and especially more companion stories. You know, since we're married and all. But, I'm not expecting it.
  5. Those aren't his kids. It's been at most a year since Geonosis, where he deserted. Those kids are much older. Those are quite obviously her children from her previous marriage. The Visual Guide was obviously a misunderstanding on the part of the author.
  6. The same comparisons were made when Rogue Squadron came out because it wasn't like X-Wing. And such comparisons are completely valid. It turns out that Rogue Squadron was a halfway decent game. But it was no X-Wing. In the same way, this space game is no JTL. That doesn't mean it's bad; it simply means that it's not like JTL. It is what it is. My theory about why people left SWG is that it was, at its heart, a horrible game. The ideas were great but poorly implemented. The devs believed that PvP would be the (to use TOR's term for it) elder game. However, the PvP was horribly unbalanced, with Riflemen (and bounty hunters) carrying the most powerful weapons in the game and targeting the only pool that couldn't be healed outside a cantina. I think it was TKMs who had a knockdown that was spammable. Carbineers were killing themselves to do any of their abilities. And CMs were throwing their disease and poison canisters farther than even Riflemen could shoot. Then there was the fact that the game at its core was pretty much a case of finding your best ability and spamming it until things died. The CU served as a way to even out the imbalances, by making carbines and pistols actually worth using, as well as the non-TK melee trees. it also made armors other than composite worth using. Then the NGE came along and completely changed the way the game worked. Long story short, SWG was never a good game. It was a great vessel for roleplay, but roleplayers alone sadly won't keep a game like that afloat. Having looked up the definition of MOBA (as I've never played LoL or DotA before), I have to wonder exactly what trailer you were watching. This is a 3rd-person shooter game, like Rogue Squadron, MechAssault, MechWarrior Online, and so on. Let's put it this way: if Galactic Starfighter is a MOBA, then so is all PvP in TOR, and, in fact, the competitive multiplayer mode of every game ever made. Call of Duty? MOBA. Team Fortress? MOBA. Certain terms have set definitions.. Use them properly. Because STO's ground game is horrible, and its space game isn't much better. All in all, STO is a pretty boring game. And, yeah, I know a lot of Star Trek fans. I'm one of them. None of us play STO anymore, and we were all done with it within a few months. I tried going back fairly recently, and it was even more boring than I remembered it being.
  7. The non-romanceable companions are uninterested in your romantic overtures. Qyzen's too worried about regaining his Jagganath score to worry about love. Bowdaar's the xenophobic one; he only likes wookiees. Xalek's all about increasing power and not getting it on with his master. Talos knows better than to hook up with a Sith lord. Rusk only really cares about you insomuch as you can help Balmorra and provide him a means to kill more Imperials. Just like real life, not everyone is amenable to getting their kit off with you.
  8. I solo him on my Marauder, Guardian and Juggernaut with a healer companion. I have the roughest time with the Marauder because of damage mitigation. However, it's still quite doable. Interrupts and stuns are key. As for gear, I have all 156-rated gear, and at least 140-rated on the companions (but a lot of 156). I don't think your Tionese set bonus is enough to overcome the sheer upgrade in stats you'd get just from putting the Makeb vendor mods in your gear. You can always group up with people, too. it makes it go faster. But, the main thing is to quickly upgrade with the pieces of gear you've been given, but I'm assuming you've been doing that. That's my recommendation, anyway: see if you can group up for it. It's still new enough that people are doing the story missions fairly regularly. It shouldn't take too long before you find someone who's on the same part you are.
  9. FInally some PvP I'll actually take part in.
  10. Remo sounds like Seth Green to me. He doesn't sound anything like Cyborg, though. So, if that is Khary Payton, then he's done a great job changing up his voice. I should also say that general Var Suthra sounds like Gene Hackman to me. I know he's not, but he definitely sounds like the Greatest Criminal Mind of the Modern Era, Lex Luthor. The reason VAs get used so much is because of the way they have to be paid. They get so much money no matter what, so it's more cost-effective to have them do multiple parts in one session and get you money's worth out of it. I would like to see a bit more variety, though.
  11. I've seen Project Storm on an NPC before. I can't remember which one, though.
  12. I think that all heroics in the future should be 2+, and, if they're in their own phase, they should scale to the number of players above that in the group. Four people in the group would make it like a Heroic 4, with higher chances of commendations, blue and higher loot, etc. As far as the already-existing Heroics? I don't see much reason to change them. If you can find a group, then great. If not, then you can always go back later on.
  13. I'm with you in spirit. But, this datacron is not that time-consuming once you figure out the system. I spent a few hours there and got enough cubes for five or six of my characters. If you're on Ebon Hawk, I'd be happy to show you the ropes, or you can just drop me a line here, and I'll direct you to more information.
  14. I'm just picturing M1-4X riding b**** on a speeder bike, shouting propagandist things as we roar into battle against Imperial troops.
  15. Her best is technology. After that I'm not sure. I got her up to 8k with greens from the vendor, then did all her conversations, then it took 3 blue rank 5 gifts to max her out. Aratech Reconstruction Kits, I believe they were, in case you want to search for them.
  16. I was able to do all of Treek's conversations today on a level 19 Sentinel. I had her before the patch, but I didn't speak to her, obviously, until I got my ship today. I checked my Juggernaut, and he still gets no option for conversations. So, it's not been fixed. I seem to have lucked out and not triggered whatever glitch is doing this.
  17. I've noticed this for a while, and I've just now gotten around to posting the screen shot. Anyway, when I use my jetpack (Rocket Boost, Recharge & Reload, etc.), I get one column of exhaust, and it looks as if the other one is angling through my torso. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x3/thewok/jets.jpg Anyone else seeing this?
  18. As I said, that's with Legacy of Altruism III. For green rank 1 items, you get 125 affection until 2000 (16 needed), then 62 affection until 4000 (33 needed), then 25 affection until 6000 (80 needed). Then, rank 1 doesn't give you anymore points. Rank 2 greens give you 25 until 8000 (again, 80 needed). The difference in cost between all the perks and none of the perks when you're using vendor-bought greens isn't much. It adds up, however, when you're buying gifts off the GTN for 5-10,000+ credits each, especially on companions like HK-51, who doesn't have a "love" gift, and so needs more of them anyway (especially since, as I said, weapons are already in high demand).
  19. An ellipsis at the end of a sentence goes with a period for a total of four dots. I would like to see the comma in the title, though. There are a number of grammar and spelling errors I note in the game, but I tend to ignore them for the most part. if I were to fill out a bug report for all of them, I'd never be able to play the game.
  20. Yep. if you want, I highly recommend getting the +affection perks for your characters. It helps a lot. Then, figure out what your companion loves (assuming s/he loves something. And curse the developer who made it so some companions don't love anything). With those perks, you'll get 125 affection for a green rank 1 gift at the love level, 62 for the same gift after 2000 affection, 25 for the same gift after 4000. You get roughly double the affection for a rank 2 gift, but at triple the price. So, buy 129 green rank 1s of the vendor and 80 rank 2s off the vendor. Then, feed them to the companion. That'll put you at 8000. You can ignore the rank 2s on a normal companion if you want. That's 73,800 credits for 8000 affection, which is a very small amount when you're doing dailies. The real cost will come when you have to start getting rank 5 items off the GTN. Hit 6-8000 affection, and then start the conversations. And, I mean that. Go do the gifts as soon as you get the companion, and only then start doing conversations and further questing. That will minimize the amount you'll need to spend on expensive gifts later on. Treek loves technology, but her conversations are currently bugged. Your ship droid loves cultural artifacts. HK-51 doesn't have a "love" gift, but his favorite is weapons (which are notoriously hard to find/expensive on the GTN), so he'll need more of those (the number of which I haven't calculated).
  21. Characters: 55 Guardian, 55 Juggernaut, 55 Commando, 54 Marauder, 35 Vanguard. Affection: 8000+ (I use rank 1 and 2 gifts to get her up to 8k before talking to her) Methods obtained: Juggernaut: purchased from droid vendor. Everyone else: from Collection. All characters get only the first conversation.
  22. First of all, it's not gouging. Price gouging is a term that gets tossed around, but it's not applicable. Price gouging is limited to necessities. Bread, milk, gasoline ... when there is a shortage of those, raising the price too much can be gouging. A luxury item (as everything in this game is a luxury) that costs a stupid amount is not price gouging. Second, I agree that these are priced way too high. I can't imagine that demand will be too high for these things with the price so high. They could charge 1/2 or even 1/4 the price and sell a whole lot more of them. And even at that price, I'd still balk at the price they've set for that type of consumable. Honestly, I just wish they'd get rid of the random dyes in packs and give dyes to all the crafting professions, with the exception of cybertech, who could make the frameworks for the dyes. So, you'd get two dyes, open up the framework, then drop one of the dyes in the primary and one on the secondary. Then you'd have a dye module for an item. Of course, it would make more sense to me just to have two dye slots on an item, but I'm not designing the thing, unfortunately. I'm just wondering why they chose the colors and combinations they chose. There are some simply atrocious combinations out there of various pastels and other colors, but I can't fine a decent white/red where the red doesn't just blend in with the black around it or any white/blue at all. Oh, but I can get light green/deep green. Or deep blue/white. Maybe next we'll get fuschia/mauve. One can only hope.
  23. Yep. The Empire gets the win for Makeb. The Republic gets a win, but not against the Empire. They were able to evacuate a large portion of the population on the Ark. The Republic knows the Empire was on Makeb, but they don't know why. And there are toxic gases leaking from the core into the atmosphere that will render the planet inhospitable within weeks (forever trapped in that state due to my need for easy dailes and loads of basic comms). There is no taking back Makeb for the Republic; their weekly is to help more people escape before the planet turns into a poisoned wasteland.
