  1. Just out of curisority, if they did what you said. How long would it be before someone asked for further splits ?
  2. pumb cuz everyone must see the ultimate truth about operatives and stop leaving in the delusions of operatives doing 50% hp damage at the knockback... Im just amused that you quoted yourself.
  3. Stop trying to walk to them would be a good bet. Getting a friend would be another. Using LoS.
  4. I dont think perma stealth works in theme park games because of the lack of need for it. There isnt a reason to have stealth other than to deceive players about the reinforcements of a node or bypass locations to attempt an easier cap. At the same time in a much larger game world like DAoC (not the best stealth example but bear with me). Stealth was helpful at getting the movements of the enemy groups. In planetside you could cap and hack after dropping in on a tower. Plant bombs and other engy tools. So stealth has its places. Is that place here in SWTOR; i guess time will tell but at the moment eh not really.
  5. As i said play how you want but when the whole tree isnt AS viable as a hybrid there's something wrong with the balance. Specilization is becoming good at that one thing. Now the downside is you dont have as many tools to work with. Hybrids by the very nature shouldnt be the top but should be able to compete because they have more tools to play with. Bioware created a situation (and we've seen this in wow) where some trees are junk because of nerfs or under-performing 31 talents. As a player im all for choices, as an arm chair dev i would like to see under-performing trees improved.
  6. Turst me i know how bad it is to be melee. This game may have the most one sided comparison from melee to ranged ive seen since standoffs at keeps in DAoC. With all the advantages given to ranged classes (high ground, knock backs, and range obviously) its makes it very tricky to pull off a kill especially if they have all 3 working in their favor like on hutball.
  7. So you zerg the carrier and somebody used tactics to beat you. Got it
  8. You have to think of it like this. Once resolve is full there is NO reason not to stand toe-to-toe with someone because they cant stop you beside 4sec interrupt. It takes alot of effot to line up your CC to effectively shutdown a caster, including but not limited to: Knowing what spells to stop, know which spell to take, knowing which cc chains into another for best outcomes before resolve, NOT using interrupt before resolve is maxed, countering knockbacks, counter stuns, counter def CDs.
  9. IBTL Not SWTOR related etc Though i do hope BW took some notes on how illum can be fixed from this! it really isnt hard to highlight everything and hit ctrl+c
  10. I disagree with premise of your post. To say an Ops is ok because some weird spec is working except that a whole tree is sub par and even you consider a joke when attacking you is something far from fine. While other may enjoy the healing on the Skirmisher play style. Some people do enjoy that stealth combat and armor shred. That being said i have nothing against people that want to play differently than me. Just because it happens in other games doesnt make it right unless the numbers are really showing hey this ability does way too much damage on its own. On its own means without every buff under the sun. Also removing dots as an op isnt the hardest thing to do.
  11. This is whats wrong with most player bases now. He was upset that you were able to take him to 40% INSTEAD of looking at the fight overall. Ops were strong, really strong but when they changed stacking buffs they also just changed ops/scs relying on mostly the old data (or so it would seem). While the op did alright in getting kills i would guess that more cordinated teams would murder ops and SCS as soon as they pop because of that lack of other tools. I dont understand this mentality when people say the game isnt balance 1v1 then talk about the backend burst of the other classes like its something to aspire to. If the game isnt balanced 1v1 why do i see threads complaining about classes that only 1v1. Mercs/Commandos Tracer/grav isnt some amazing aoe party killing ability. It is a single target damage ramp that leads to that backend damage burst. So the game isnt balanced for 1v1 and yet they happen and people complain about another class when they lose. Players put them selves in places where this happens and instead of saying hey he had better abilities FOR THAT SITUATION than i did they come to the forums and complain endlessly. Inquis have too much utility though...
  12. they are using the DAoC model which many, including myself, hail as some of the best mmo pvp to date
  13. Until someone finds a corner and you cant find them again as they tape a penny to their move forward key.
  14. What were the tangible rewards in DAoC for pvp? RP were about as intangible Alternate Advancement system as you could get to make your character stronger. There were no direct rewards (see loot and even Gold for a while) for attacking keeps and killing players. Darkness Falls was the closest you got to Killing for gear. The system current systems reward direct character progression, and easily allows players to use whatever is the fastest method to max out on that content of gear.
  15. This In this game is it painfully obvious that this is the case as you dont even see the opposing faction through out much of your leveling grind (except maybe voss). On top of a limited open world pvp system with no real objectives to care about or leader boards or anything that DAoC had.
  16. Yeah but that involves talent and and it isnt on demand. Im sure they would like it more if it was.
  17. Look we cant have it both ways Are we using the Vanish for offense (Hidden vanish hidden) or we using it to escape. Its not up but every 2 min (talented). If we want to question the fact that our major burst damage came from a stealth opener thats fine we can question and look back on that and say what fun it was (as ops) and have everyone curse us for having one of a few things or a combination. 1) Better Gear 2) Stacking buffs 3) Picking on Lowbies So what happened. Around the same time we got 50 brackets (eliminating 3) they removed 2 as well. So one would think that we wait and see how things pan out. However, that was not the case we went right to nerf instead of reevaluation under current circumstances. Now number 1 will never change until you have equal gear. We can all say that Oh i have X level gear and i got 3 shot. However, we were still stacking buffs then. We will see how things go now post nerf. Some of my comrades are saying how its great because we now can use debilitate (which i would hope your comrades are smart enough to trinket). Going to your point. No you dont have stealth. You have what we call a front line, and escape tools. Sprint (which can be stopped by a root) is a VERY good tool. You also have the advantage of height and location. Now there are counters to everything. Like some Glow bat thicky flying up to you with a charge. He should be knocked down straight away with your knock back (after the stun and making sure he didn't reposition behind you). tl;dr You have tools as well. While stealth is a solid tool for hiding there are better ones.
  18. Are we just going to compare abilities all day long? From Ops Wheres our sprint? Wheres our aoe knock back? Wheres are recastable absorb on the same CD as the shield? Wheres our stun? (just kidding! though i will take the range on it.) From Sorcs Wheres our Stealth? Wheres our Vanish Wheres our AoE blind (really? you want this ?) Wheres our evasion? I will trade you Stealth for the absorb and sprint. Take it or leave it if you think it is that great. Stealth is great! Until you cant use it ...
  19. The ground broke in Ilum, and then people stopped going ZING
  20. So what im seeing is Med armor target (maura) and a Jug. In which he burns no less than 3 cool downs to take both of them at the start. Rinse repeat through out the video. Now you can make the argument that using CDs should be big damage cause thats what a CD is. However, we dont see the 2 min post cd usage what we see is the next time you line up that big hit in all these BIG CRIT vidoes (across all games not just this one). All we see is stealth next target kill (might not even be the same bg!). However, like you said in your first post i quoted. When you were left alone you were OP. Which is what the Ops have said in defense of them. edit: lol i was watching it again and there was one part where he was pulled by a powertech and then cut to another point!
  21. While were being honest lets make sure that we attacked a light armor target while stacking all the stims we could to get that damage. In the name of honesty of course. Ive also seen sorcs support their nerf.
  22. Man its like im reading an operative defense post. Enjoy sorcs. From your Friendly operative.
  23. Do you even realize HOW GOOD those guys were at playing rogues? They werent some random scrub noob saying LOOK AT ME AND WHAT I CAN DO. You will find those people in every game. The person who knows how to use their class the the fullest extent almost to the point of being OP. Edit: they also wanted to show how awful the Warlock was in comparison.
  24. I like how you dumped 2 cds into a target to assure a kill and think that is not a nerf. You should be worried when you dump 2 cds and cant kill a low armor target given equal gear level. Balancing a game around the idea that a buff is dumping 2 cds into someone so they die is possible the WORST design ive seen since wow rogues were balanced around all of their CDS, and to some extent still are. Edit: Its still nerf because if you did that pre nerf you wouldn't need the rest of that chain usually.
