  1. Okay, let me break it down. What I would like to see that will absolutely NEVER happen: Two new classes, one for each side. Republic Starfighter Pilot and Imperial Starfighter Pilot. This would come along with a complete revamp of the space game to make it more like the old X-Wing and TIE Fighter games. Your active companion would fly with you as your wingman. The male Republic pilot would be voiced by Mark Hamill and the Male Imperial pilot would be voiced by Kevin Conroy. The fighters would be completely customizable in every way. There would be group Heroic missions and new flashpoints, ops & warzones exclusively dedicated to Pilots. What I would like to see that SHOULD happen: A complete revamp of the chat system along the lines of my Robust Chat System suggestion thread. Better chat systems make for a friendlier gaming experience and foster a stronger sense of community. What I would like to see without any intense personal feelings one way or the other: A streakbreaker code inserted into the Reverse Engineering system such that if the RNG is against you and you miss an ungodly amount of rolls in a roll, then your next one will automatically be a success. More orange weapons schematics in a variety of appearance styles available for Articifers and Armstechs. Synthweavers & Armormechs have a crapton of orange craftable clothing, so why not toss Double-A a bone here? More options available for character creation so there aren't so many twins/clones running around the galaxy.
  2. Kira and Dark Side Jaesa for my preferences.
  3. Let's eliminate the obvious questions first. Did you claim the unlock from the Cartel Market after you bought it? Did you use the unlock after you claimed it? If the answer to both of those questions is "Yes," then you'll need to send an in-game bug report.
  4. Niklarus here. Member of the Wild Cards on Triumph server with 47 mains and alts on that server by the time those [censored] mutha[censoreds] at NC Soft (May a thousand sand fleas and bed bugs infest their nether orifice and genitals!) shut down the game. Most of my alts were in the Cards, with some being in a solo SG so I could play around and have fun with base-building. So many fond memories of that game... Now I'm over here on The Shadowlands server with the remnants of Fusion Force, an SG we were coalitioned with for many years. We've got a guild named Paragons in honor of our former home and still hang out/keep in touch on the Fusion Force website. (www.fusionforce.us)
  5. Considering what so many people watch & do when they're alone with their computers, I'm really not sure I want to even think about having a Kinect in a PC.
  6. Excellent point. I do think that if someone is a jerk on one alt, then they're probably a jerk on all their alts and there ought to be some way to not have to ever deal with them in any form ever again. So something would have to be worked out there.
  7. I would like to take this opportunity to suggest that the developers put together and implement a more robust chat system than we currently have in-game. Based upon my experiences in other games, I believe that such a thing would help to foster a stronger sense of community. The features that I would like to see in such a system are as follows: It should be a cross-faction system so that, if I am on an Imperial alt and a friend is on a Republic alt and we want to team together, we can A) actually know that the other person is online and B) arrange for one of us to switch alts so that we can team. Considering how alt-friendly this game is, it is entirely possible that people will fill up all their character slots on one server and have to create an alt on another server if a really good concept comes to them. Therefore, to facilitate teaming, the redesigned system should be truly global, allowing us to communicate with each other no matter what server we may be on. The new system should allow for the creation of fully-functional custom chat channels and for a person to be able to join as many of these as they choose. (I'll describe in detail what kind of functions I think such a channel should have further down in the post.) This would allow not just guilds, but any groups of people with similar interests to more easily keep in touch and build a community. One example might be a channel for people on a certain server for people with a strong interest in accomplishing achievements. In such a channel, someone might say "Hey, I need to beat down X mob type on Y planet. Anyone want to join me?" And someone else might respond "Sure, let me switch alts and I'll be right there." It should allow for the use of unique chat handles. I'll go into that in detail below, too. When it comes to custom chat channels, I would like to see the following as settings and options. Settings: Private Channels with Invitation-Only access. Public Channels that anyone can join. Options: No Restrictions. New members can just jump on in. New members are temporarily silenced upon joining a channel and will be unsilenced by whichever channel mod happens to be online. With this option, a whisper will be auto-generated to each mod whenever someone joins the channel so that they know someone needs to be unsilenced. Each channel will have one Owner, the person who created it. However, that person may appoint as many moderators as they choose. Mods will have the power to invite people, silence them or kick them based on the behavior and actions of the member in question. They will not, however, be able to unseat the Owner. If the Owner of the channel decides to step down or leave the game entirely, they can transfer ownership to one of the current mods. This will turn the former owner into a regular mod. Unique Chat Handles can, I believe, be put into place in the following manner: When the system goes live, each player will be assigned a temporary Chat Handle which will be the name of the character that they just logged in with. They will then be given, via a pop-up box like the ones used to tell us all our skill points have been refunded, the opportunity to change the handle to whatever they choose. After that, if they want to change their handle again, they will be given one token each year that they remain a member that they can use to do so. There will, naturally, be profanity filters put in place to prevent certain words/phrases/names from being used as handles. In order to make any of this even possible in the first place, of course, we would need an overhaul of the Friends/Ignore system. I believe the following to be a sensible plan: When adding friends, a person will be given the option to choose between server-only friends and Global friends. Selecting the Global option would send a request to the person you want to add. If they say "Yes," then you now appear on each other's Friends list whenever you log on no matter what faction or server you may currently be playing on. When you Ignore someone, it will automatically ignore every character on that person's entire account. The TL/DR version: I would really, really like to see a better chat system in this game than the one we currently have. I think such a system should be cross-faction, cross-server, allow for custom channels and unique handles and come with improvements to both the friends & ignore lists.
  8. Instead of a guarantee every five items if you're REing something with a 20% chance or every 10 if you're working on something with a 10% chance, I would like to suggest adding a streakbreaker to the RE system for those times when the RNG goes against you so often that you start to wonder if it's changed its name to HAL or Skynet. So it would be that if you had "x" unsuccessful REs, then attempt "x+1" will be a success. I would also suggest that this number rotate through a certain set of numbers and that those numbers never be released to the public so that no one could game the system. Alternatively, if you have skill level 450 and you're trying to RE something made at skill level 1 to 60, you would get an automatic success and then less of a chance of success as you get closer to items made at your current skill level.
  9. Because looking up at us in all our new color combinations makes them want to facepalm?
  10. How much do those third-party applications cost? More importantly, how easy are they to use?
  11. For my JK, it'll be whatever planet Lemda Avesta is staying on these days so that they can pick up where they left off after the evacuation of Makeb.
  12. I agree with this wholeheartedly. I really get weary of paging through at least 10 screens of "Custom-built Lightsaber" recipes just to get to 10 more pages of crystal recipes I already have before I finally find something that I DON'T have. And let's not even talk about the pages and pages of those same 3 new Armormech glove recipes. *shudder*
  13. Well, now that I know that it's happening quite a bit to others, I'll go ahead and submit an in-game bug report on this tonight. Mind you, I'm sure they've got more urgent bugs to work on than this, but at least they'll be aware.
  14. Thank the Force that it's not just me, then. Whew. *wipes brow*
  15. I'm not sure if this is a bug or working as intended, but here's a problem I've been experiencing. Ever since dyes went in, I've been coloring my armor to give my characters a look that is just right for them. I've also been trying to take screenshots of their new looks, usually during the cutscenes because that's when you get some really good full-height views of your characters. Well, lately, the Print Screen button has only been working...sporadically. And that's being generous about it. I would say that a good 80% of the time, I haven't been able to get a single pic taken through the course of an entire conversation even if I'm absolutely SPAMMING Print Screen. Sometimes I get lucky and I love the shots I get when I do. But most times...Most times I don't get anything. In my experience, it was not that way before, oh, maybe some time in February or March. This started being a problem somewhen around then, so it's not something that came in with RotHC/Makeb. I just want to see if this is A) happening to anyone else and B) an actual bug as opposed to a design choice.
  16. The only truly, TRULY easy ones that I've found thus far have been the 3 on Korriban. Those ones are practically right out in the open for any idiot *cough*me*cough* to find. Oh, and there's on a beach on Ord Mantell guarded by a level 7 elite. If you have a companion by the time you go for it, it's easy enough to drop him and get the datacron. For every other one, I've needed a guide or blind luck. Mostly guides, as luck is not a friend of mine. *shrug*
  17. I don't know how feasible this is for them to do, but I would definitely love to at least be able to apply dye packs to my ships. Maybe make the lasers moddable so that we can put color crystals in them to change the color of our shots?
  18. I made a Cathar Inquisitor originally just so I could go after Achievements on Korriban, but I had so much fun insulting Overseer Harkun every time he tried to put me down for being "alien filth" that I decided to keep playing her instead of deleting her once I was done with the planet.
  19. Yeah, those are all adaptive, regardless of the Covert Pilot's Suit showing as purple. Not sure why it is shown as purple, though.
  20. Cool. Glad to be wrong about my memory of that.
  21. What, specifically, did you buy? There are some tops & sets that have mods already in them and other uniforms that do not. The ones that don't are the ones that are truly adaptive. The adaptive have no true armor type (light, medium, heavy) and can be tossed on any alt you buy them for. (We'll leave out the collection system for right now. I don't have that much time to type here at work.) The purple ones, to the best of my memory - which may be wrong, do have a type. So a heavy purple can't be tossed on a Smuggler or Inquisitor, etc. If you like the look of the purple set and the character you bought it for can actually wear it, you can keep stuffing new armoring, mods and enhancers in it as you level up.
  22. It's not even the number of mobs of Makeb that drove me bug-eyed my first time through. No, it was the way at least one member in each group had a knockback ability and used it liberally. The number of times I got ping-ponged... Attack one group and the member with knockback would toss me into another group. Then the member of THAT group with knockback would toss me back into the original group. Rinse and repeat until dead. Yeah. Love the story of Makeb very much. Loathe all the mobs with knockback.
