  1. Meh. I'd prefer a Sith based on Jenna Haze, personally.
  2. Yeah, I'd love to buy a "Tatooine Moisture Farmer's" set myself.
  3. Oh yeah. Now, once I finish downloading the update, I can dye my Aspiring Knight's Vest at long last!
  4. Correct. The Jedi, if any of them thought at all about the reemergence of the Sith, expected something more along the lines of the war that ended with the detonation of the Thought Bomb. The Sith had done things in one particular manner for so long (like our Sith here in TOR, for that matter) that the Jedi just never saw the Banite Sith and their slow undermining of the Republic coming. And undermining the Republic wasn't even the point of the Plan. It was just a necessary step towards the true goal, which was the destruction of the Jedi. The Jedi thought the war was about control of the galaxy, but they were blinded by both the "shroud of the Dark Side" and their own expectations and flawed understanding of the goal of the Sith.
  5. Yeah, if Mace had taken Anakin with him instead of telling him to stay at the Temple, Palpatine would have had to come up with Corruption Plan B on the spot. He wouldn't have been able to play the "This is an assassination! They're trying to destroy democracy!" card in that case since the fight that Anakin showed up for the end of only broke out when he attacked the Jedi. With Anakin there as part of the Jedi team, Palpatine would've had to pull quite the rabbit out of his hat. If he'd attacked the Jedi like he did in the movie, Anakin would have gone full-bore into the fight on their side which would have ended any hope of turning the Chosen One to the Dark Side. Giving into his anger during the fight might still have caused Anakin to fall, but with him and Mace working together, there probably wouldn't have been a living Sith Lord left afterwards to teach him. No, if Anakin had gone with the team, the Chancellor would need to improvise. And I'm just not devious enough to come up with a plan he could use that would have worked.
  6. One thing that I think may have delayed the death of the first two for a while would be if they had confronted Palpatine in a more open space. Being in a room as small as his office really didn't help at all. If they'd had more room to spread out, then those two might not have died so qucikly. They still would have died because Palpatine was just that strong in the Dark Side, but maybe they or Mace or the other one might have been able to use the extra time to wound Palpatine a little and slow him down.
  7. Too darned right. Every time I see the phrase "slap in the face" used on an Internet forum, I wish that I could reach through the lines and actually slap that person in the face. Such an utterly overused set of words.
  8. I'd also like to note that, by the time Palpatine had arranged for all his antagonists to be brought together like that, everything had been going according to his plans for pretty much all his life. At that point, I'd say that getting the rebels together was pretty much a direct taunt towards the Great God Murphy (whose mighty Law rules the entire multiverse) and that Murphy -- may He never turn His attention towards me -- was bound to come along and absolutely dope-slap the hell out of Palpatine for that particular challenge.
  9. He thought it would gather all the people who were secretly against the Empire in one place at one time so that they could be captured, tortured and killed in order to show that resistance to the Empire was impossible. In retrospect, it wasn't the brightest decision he ever made.
  10. Meh. A lot of people tossed a lot of heat Michael Keaton's way when he was cast for the '89 Batman movie and he wound up being exceptionally good in the role. I'm willing to give Affleck the benefit of the doubt here.
  11. "SURE, I can hold muh beer and tank at the same time!"
  12. Yes, the CoH loot system really needs to be the industry standard. We wouldn't have ANY of this stress or all the frustration over people needing on stuff they don't need, etc. if BioWare would have implemented that system instead of the one we've got. Need or Greed just seems like an inherently flawed system.
  13. My interpretation of that scene is somewhat different. I've always viewed it as Luke suddenly realizing how close he is to becoming just like Vader and having a "What am I DOING?" moment where he comes back to his senses.
  14. Nah. Darth John Boy, on the other hand for those of us who are of a certain age...
  15. Apparently, Vader never learned how to use a lightsaber southpaw-style and Luke...ahem..."unhanded" his right side. Palpatine's number one mistake in that whole situation was torturing Vader's son right in front of him. Apparently Darth "I've planned for every possibility" Sidious completely blanked on the fact that Vader had already changed sides once in order to save the life of someone he loved. It obviously never occurred to Mister Evil Mastermind that Vader would, duh, change sides again to save the life of someone he loved. In the words of that great philosopher Bugs Bunny, "What a maroon!"
  16. E.T. for the Atari 2600 didn't suck as bad as everyone says it did.
  17. Looking forward to trying it out when I get home from work today. The patch notes sound awesome.
