  1. No. I love Bioware games and the rpg aspect of this game is excellent, the combat is fun as well as the pvp, but this is not a MMO design that I hold in high regard. Being a theme park it is spoon fed by the devs leaving little room to truly make your own content. Bluntly put, just WoW became a phenomenon with 11 million subscribers does not mean it is a good game. Sure WoW does many things well, such as the technical aspects, but much of its social systems design is poor, even if it does work as intended. A gear based economy is not a good thing. It is, in fact, a bad thing that is nothing more than a carrot on a stick and does not promote true community. Crafting as a money sink does not work and gimps crafting badly. This is, however, the requirement of a theme park MMO with a gear based economy. There is a question: Why is there little to no open world pvp? Because other than a quest, no one has any incentive to go back to lower level planets. No guild hall on Nar Shaddaa, no housing on Voss, nothing to fight for... why go back, just queue for WZ. Separating factions in chat is a HORRIBLE idea stolen from WoW. It is sad that people just go with what has earned money in the past instead on innovating.
  2. Alderaan, trailing from the start, down about 370 to 235, we lost 3rd turret. We won the game 5 - 0 on the last tick. "Never Give Up! Never Surrender!"

  5. The really sad part is that it is the least iconic Jedi class in the game.
  6. signed. Really, really bad. Needs a hotfix, preferably today. Changes like this need an option in the Preferences.
  7. This. I feel that Bioware should stay true to the design of the Saga.
  8. I agree with the op 100% Armor/ clothing is for the most part horrible and a WoW knockoff. The Rakata gear is beyond words. What was Bioware thinking. Add to the fact that while Star Wars may be fantasy in space it is not WoW!! Star Wars has a COMPLETELY different style. Bioware should stay true to the IP when designing the look.
  9. and lets get implement a shoulder pad toggle for all NPCs and PCs alike. This is a star Wars game and LONG SLEEVED robes and LONG SLEEVED jedi tunics should be the doninat styles.
  10. Î too liked the torture scene, but the shoulder pads just ruin it. Breaks immersion for me.
  11. I could not agree more. This is Star Wars, let us look like it.
  12. Hi, I leveled as Deception until Taris when I got melee DPS and found it to be very powerful. It hits hard for a tank, mitigates damage well with the Dark Charge bonus to armor and the innate Internal and Elemental resists. Some maneuvers are skill based and require setting up (ie Lightning heal). So managing cooldowns is important. Like I said I leveled DEception until Taris, but you could do so from the start, using Khem, then Andronikos as DPS. While the Tank spec does hit nicely, the fights do last longer without DPS. Throughout leveling the spec gets tools to manage aggro and ends up with several nice skills, one of with is a group taunt, in addition to Wither at 40 (if all points specced to tank) another damage dealing and debuffing group taunt. I used commendations to upgrade my gear and generally could handle golds one level higher than me with ease. Some fights were tough, but once you get Talos they are generally winnable. All in all I really like the spec. You do good damage if you use the build in setups and tank well.
  13. Please implement a toggle for the horrible looking, immersion breaking, shoulderpads for PCs and NPCs alike. Please put long sleeve robes into the game. Simple gloves that only cover the hands would be nice. Generally speaking, this is a Star Wars game and I would prefer to have my toons look Star Wars like instead of the WoW copy and paste job that is in game now. Thank you
  14. Her situation is uncommen much like it is uncommon for many people playing MMOs with friends they made in game. The fact that people from all over the world to play on a common server lends itself to many people being in her "uncommon" situation. You are having trouble with the terms objective and subjective. Just remember that aocial constructs such as value, entertainment, like any social constructs know no "objectivity", merely "subjective objectivity".
  15. What if they enjoy the gameplay? Can they subscribe then? The fact that you subjectively generalize gameplay style, then proceed to quantify highly subjective experiences such as fun and value received is laughable. Subjective interpretation does not equal fact. You cannot determine the replay value for other people. The opportunity to replay the same planet quests on a different toon with different choices, may, in fact, provide infinite value of entertainment for many, much like LoL or DotA for you, or do they only sign your paycheck.
  16. Honestly, STO is not that good of a game. The STFs (Flashpoints) were the worst I have ever seen. The endgame was generally a mess. PvE ground combat was a joke. It was hardly the launch that did it in. It was simply not that fun to play.
  17. I remember STOs launch. I do not think the op could have handled it.
  18. You are grasping at straws with this. Your OP is also unfounded and faulty in its assumptions. The only proof you have is by verbosity and that equels none. Add to that the fact that ALL your posts attack MMO games and I do believe that you have no credibility left.
  19. yeah, January join date. All posts anti - MMO
  20. OMG, I bet WoW does not do that when you cancel....
  21. Taris on the imp side, after going through it on the republic is fun.
