  1. Yeah, they are preparing to condense all classes down to Sentinel and Operative, who both spam knockback-root-stun focus bombs. Seriously, this game is already way past the NGE, only that you send 70% ot the fime stunned.
  2. This is opinion and has no basis in fact. The only thing that can be said for sure about WoW is that it was the most financially successful MMO ever. It is obvious that other companies tried to hop on the bandwagon. This, however, does not mean WoW changed MMO's for the better. In fact, since most of these games failed, one might deduct that while WoW became a hit, the game mechanics WoW used to keep its sheep subbing could not help other games establish themselves. This reflects poorly on said mechanics.
  3. Using the term "bads" makes you look moronic. The having the best gear in a gear grind system simply means time spent. No skill is involved PvP should be about skill not time spent.
  4. None of it is hard to learn. If you have any sense of direction you will have NO trouble knowing where you are , where left is, where grass is, where snow is, where right is. Stop posting and start learning. Its not hard.
  5. I am not against gearing up and grinding it out. The main problem I have is the extra Resilience stat (I will never call it "Expertise" because it does not deserve its own name). It is an atrocious game mechanic that takes the place of quality game deign and meaningful pvp to perpetuate subs. I would not mind Champion, Battlemaster and War Hero gear being very hard to earn if it was cosmetic. This would make pvp at the top level more competitive. The first person to War Hero and BM on the server I play on was the envy of most pvpers for a while. When large portions of the population caught up to him, they realized that he was not very good. The only thing that can be said of someone who is in full BM gear is that they have invested the time required. Nothing else. They do not deserve to be given an advantage.
  6. Sorry, gear grind is fail. True competitors want an even playing field to measure themselves against other competitors. People who think someone can "deserve" gear want their time invested turned into an advantage. The Resilience stat is a bad game design mechanic when it comes to competition. It is a tool to keep people paying a monthly sub instead of designing real content. Yes, this is what Blizzard intended when it made Resilience. Bioware copied this Lemming magnet blindly, but seems to be wising up.
  7. I have some land in Alaska I would like to sell to you dirty cheap.
  8. You obviously need to practice reading.
  9. Again people are missing the point. Chain Lightning may have done a lot of damage, but it was the added CC that made sorcs OP. A well played Operative can take my health from 20k to 3k, but if I am fast I can avoid that, just like I can get out of the way of a few Marauder. There was no running from a group of Sorcs.
  10. I do not get all the 1v1 talk. Its cherry picking at its best. This was never about 1v1. Although the Sorcs are far from the victims they claim to be. This is about Sorcs as a group and the imbalance a group of them bring to team pvp. 1v1 is not the issue. You need to drop it and look at the real issue if you want any tpye of understanding and closure.
  11. They forgot to reduce cooldowns on all Sorcerer abilities by 75% and remove their global cooldown altogether while increasing damage, healing and mitigation 35%. Once they fix that, the servers will come again.
  12. No, its more like: Person One: has natural ability, trains some, gets a swimsuit to compete with. Person Two: has less natural ability, but trains so much he gets a Jet ski to compete with. The operative word here is compete. Sure, person two deserves the jet ski for his effort, time and commitment, but the jet ski no longer makes it competitive. To put it another way: winning Super Bowl MVP, you get a car, but you cant use it in the next game... That being said, I am all for hard to attain vanity items that are really cool, but I want a level playing field. I see people coming up to the 50s bracket with little to no gear who were really good in the 10-49 bracket and I waste them no problem. That is sad and it should not be like that. Expertise should not be in the game. Top level Armor, mods and enhancements etc. should be obtainable through either crafters or dailies. The OP is right. What he says, however, has to do with a mindset. You either have it or you do not.
  13. No, not it the same way sorcerers do. I realize its an easy argument to say that, but the truth is that two marauders is not the same as two sorcerers. It is not about pure damage and pure healing. Its about the ability to control the battlefield while adding good healing and good damage. Sorcerers can bring all three to the table. Many of their damage abilities have CC build in. This is why 99.9% (and that is an accurate pct.) feature at least 50% Sorcerer / Sage population. I realize that they are squishy and they garner quite a bit of attention in a warzone, but if it was as bad as some of the people they to make it sound, if sorcerer / Sage were not good, then they would not make up more than half the population.
  14. This is the thing. Single Sage/Sorcs can be tough if played well, but they are squishy. Two or more of them increase their effectiveness exponentially. What gets me is the fact that Shadow / Assassin was not allowed to keep its much less effective hybrid spec.
  15. You choose to ignore the fact that there is a difference. Battlemaster gear does not make you better that someone in champions. It does not even mean you are good, it only gives you an advantage. Competitive pvp will only be competitive if the playing field is level. Even a miniscule difference in gear makes it a farce by negating the skill factor even slightly. There is no arguing about this. There need to be very hard to get cosmetic rewards for winning in pvp, but in no way, shape or form should you gain an advantage through your rewards. The Super Bowl mvp does not get to use his car in a game.
  16. Even at 48, it should not be that hard to gear up for 50. Get yourself orange gear, a purple belt and bracers. Save all your Corellia comms to buy enhancements and mods and a hilt. Do the Ilum and Belsavis Dailies for comms to buy the purple armor on Ilum to put in your oranges. Get a shield and the best earpiece, implants and Relics you can afford. Stack endurance. You should have around 15k hitpoints. Sure you are going to be squishy due to lack of expertise, but so is every other fresh 50. If you do the 2 man heroics on Ilum and Belsavis you get a purple mod and enhancement.
  17. 3 kill per warzone is great balance imo.
  18. The sad and pathetic truth.
  19. Wait, a hybrid sorc build gets the ability to activate crushing instantly through a proc? If so why was this taken from shadows. I do agree that most sorcs are not a problem one on one, but get two hybrids working together and its a different story.
  20. With very few exceptions, everyone here is a vet.

    Bye Bye pvp

No one said you should not use Purge. you could even interrupt them before they are applied. DoT defense is not indicative of skill. Yes, someone who cleanses shows more skill than someone who relies on DoTs for defense in warzones. Cleansing a DoT demonstrates awareness for you toons state, running in and Doting four guys before getting mowed down is simply using a game mechanic to your advantage. I could ask, why all the fuss about the change, if people can simply cleanse the DoT? if that is so, then it should make no difference...
  22. What happened to someone going it, skillfully navigating the terrain, using los and hitting the attackers that are trying to cap while staying alive as long as possible so reinforcements can arrive? DoT defense is easy mode. No skill required. run in, apply DoT and die. DoT applying "Expert": I will never get there due to the fact that too many people are engaging me. No, matter let me just throw a DoT on him and all is good." Yeah, that is skill... well a poor player may think so. In reality DoTs are a gimme

    Bye Bye pvp

I do not see how people can not get this. It is not the damage, it is the fact that some person runs in applies dots, gets mowed down and the cappers are delayed for the DURATION of the DoT. The best of all is we have people saying others can not play for wanting the removal of such cheap tactics. DoT defense is easy mode. No skill required. Dot and die.
