  1. Okay, a quick update. The copy of SWTOR on my external harddrive repaired its version of the PTS successfully when connected to a completely different computer. So I guess that'll be a workaround to keep things going. But meanwhile I can investigate those other suggestions. Thanks again.
  2. The repair doesn't work, but I don't receive “corrupt source” or “unknown file” errors. What happens is that it eventually stops repairing mid-repair. (This also happens during the initial patch.) There just comes a point where the launcher isn't writing to disk anymore and the pause button is disabled. Even if I've left it running overnight, it stays in that state. When I finally force-close the launcher and run it again, it requires (another) repair, identifying progressively more files in need of repair. I am trying a few different approaches now. Have a copy of SWTOR on an external drive; same result. Now trying it connected to a different PC altogether (still Windows 10 though). After I have finished that, if it's still an issue, I will investigate the list of suggestions you very helpfully posted. Thank you.
  3. For the past few updates, whether in the main game or the PTS, the update never installs smoothly. There's always some error(s) to be repaired. And the repair takes hours. For instance, the current PTS repair is downloading assets to a folder called assets_swtor_test_main_0to373 that is currently 29.3gb in size. Has anyone else been experiencing this? This is with the non-Steam, non-bitraider version of the client.
  4. Thanks for sharing. Hooks look great! Plenty of them. Especially pleased with centrepieces.
  5. Felix is actually my favorite companion (Jorgan and Theron being close behind). I feel like many of those who find him boring may also find the consular story boring. But I love both. My consular is a mature, kind, level-headed person. And so is Felix. I love how much he respects and supports her. A chill, loving, low-drama guy is just the partner she needs. I feel like it wasn't the best time, but it showcased an important part of his character: how much he cares about subordinates and wants them to be protected. He gets mad when bad things happen to people in his chain of command that he feels should have been safe, but the Republic let down. His anger here foreshadows his personal plot arc with the Deadeyes, which I think is clever writing. Sure, the main character isn't the right focus of that anger, because it doesn't matter how quickly you went there, you couldn't have stopped it. But sometimes people do let their anger out on those who don't deserve it, because the actual appropriate target isn't available. It's a "human" reaction. I don't expect my companions to be perfect angels in all situations. In fact, sometimes I feel like the criticisms people level at characters really come down to this: "yes, it would be boring if you were perfect, but don't be imperfect that way." And sometimes it feels as if the acceptable kinds of imperfection are getting very small and monotonous (even if some "new" ones are being re/discovered and added to common tropes). Like... I don't know that the Bioware of today would write a companion character with Corso's level of naive, would-be-benevolent sexism. And I feel like I can see why. But I think it's interesting to explore a character like that.
  6. Fully agree. We do have grade 7, but we don't have full grade 8, and we've nothing from grades 9-11. Full utility decorations for all levels, please. Thanks!
  7. Completely agree. We have cutscenes with two different characters who can be emperor / empress. Jace is neglected by comparison.
  8. Thanks for the update. Sympathy on your presence difficulties. Hope you will all stay safe and well.
  9. 100% agree. I don't like any of these things either and would be happy for them not to be forced on my characters who don't feel notably close to Lana (and certainly aren't closer to Lana than to their actual LI). I am of course perfectly happy for these scenes to be available to characters and players who want them. It's not super-great for your personal subjective take on things to be "blamed" like this. We're allowed to not enjoy things without some fault having to be assigned to us.
  10. This is disappointing. It would be better if previous hugs counted toward the achievement.
  11. Good point. This thread brings it all back. Or my reverse engineering spreadsheet, for that matter. There have definitely been improvements since that time, but so much of what needed to be done could've been gleaned from our original feedback.
  12. 100% reminds me of Liara in a bad way, agreed. I did actually feel that Lana was written better during Onslaught as a general comrade, compared to her writing during KotFE/ET. But this new story beat seemed to have her quite touchy-feely again.
  13. I hate to say this, but I suspect that if someone tried to make a "teens only" guild, they would end up with a lot of members who weren't teens but who wanted to be around teens for creepy reasons.
  14. Hi Jackie, thanks for asking! I dunno if this is something that you personally can do, but for a good while many of us have been asking that the Galactic Strongholds section of the forum get an icon and not be set apart from the rest in the weird way that it currently is. I believe someone in BW said at some point that this would be addressed, but it hasn't been yet. This may not be the kind of forum feedback you're looking for, though.
  15. Pretty much this. For characters who actually feel close to Lana, whether as friends or lovers, I think her writing is perfect. But for those who view her more distantly, as a loyal ally but not someone to whom they feel an emotional connection, it's just sorta weird how she keeps getting pushed into this role. Especially when there are other characters we'd rather be there instead of her.
  16. Yeah, surprised to see no acknowledgement of this, particularly considering that some other people have reported this has been a problem for a while? Personally, I only noticed it in this update. Maybe they don't consider it a 6.2-specific issue. But I hope they fix it.
  17. I noticed the same thing, similarly with an Imperial who sided with the Republic on Iokath, who played Iokath and all subsequent content pretty close to when they came out. Both Acina and Malcom are listed as dead, even though only Acina should be. And Theron's dialogue refers to losing one parent, which he hasn't.
  18. Agreed! I often think of how nice it would be to get this in our strongholds, when I see it decorating sithy areas.
  19. It's confusing. We keep hearing this is in the works, and then keep not getting Zenith back.
  20. Ah, I reported this in another thread, not realising your topic had covered it. I'm experiencing this problem too! However, I'm only experiencing it with one character, a consistent saboteur. For an Imperial who sided with Jace on Iokath but didn't become a saboteur, he's showing up as alive in the contacts window.
  21. In some game states, Jace Malcom is erroneously presented as dead. Specifically, my SIS-aligned Imperial agent who sided with the Republic on Iokath, and has been a saboteur for the Republic at every opportunity, now wrongly sees Malcom listed as dead in her contacts. I was alerted to the discrepancy when Theron spoke of losing one parent in a new conversation added in 6.2, but I knew that Malcom should be alive in this game state. I am certain that my agent sided with the Republic on Iokath and I'm not just forgetting, as I have been fanatical about this character always helping the Republic where possible, from agent class story chapter two onwards. But I do have screenshots to back up my claim. Malcom's contact info does state that he and the agent fought the Empire together on Iokath. However, it still lists him as dead. Acina's contact info similarly shows her as having died on Iokath. Apparently both died on Iokath trying to control the superweapon, and are each mourned by their factions! So far, in all the other characters I've checked, as far as I can tell, Malcom's status is not bugged in the contacts list. For a consistent Republic loyalist, he is rightly shown as alive. For a Republic character who sided with the Republic on Iokath but then became a saboteur, he is rightly shown as alive. For an Imperial who sided with the Empire on Iokath but then became a saboteur, he is rightly shown as dead. For an Imperial who sided with the Republic on Iokath, did not become a saboteur, and stayed independent, he is rightly shown as alive. For a consistent Imperial loyalist, he is rightly shown as dead. I have chosen not to proceed with my consistent Imperial saboteur until this is fixed. Hopefully it can be identified and addressed soon. Thanks!
  22. Slightly concerned about a possible bug related to Theron so I esc'd out of a conversation. Looking for any possible help and enlightenment! Edit: Yep, looks like there's a bug. Checking the status of Acina and Malcom in my contacts page, they are somehow both listed as dead after failing to control the Iokath superweapon.
  23. Fair enough. I appreciate you sharing your reasons. I do prefer the current schedule as regards guilds being able to see points totals just before conquest end without logging into the game "in the middle of the day" (as it is in the EU). Also, I liked each week have "eight" conquest days (Tuesday essentially being divided into two halves where objectives could be repeated). But it does sound like you have a wider perspective that you need to consider beyond individual convenience and preferences (particularly given that, as people comment here, not all prefer things the current way).
