  1. I mean that's easy to say, but one of the bugs in question is literally stopping people with a popular line of gaming laptops from playing the game at all. And Jackie said they'd identified a fix for that. To be added with the next patch.
  2. I've gotta be honest, I kinda assumed it was going to be Tuesday. I did ask for a ballpark, but my expectation was that the answer would be soon. But we are close enough without any maintenance notification that it's really not looking that way.
  3. Thanks Jackie, it's great that a fix has been identified. Re. compensation, that's better than what I gathered immediately prior. Is there any sense of when the next patch might be? Like, ballpark?
  4. Thanks for reporting; I didn't call them yet myself. That's... really not great. It makes little sense to contact CS until the problem is actually significant. But, once it is, apparently they can do nothing to fix what's already happened, only avoid the loss of future days. Meanwhile, we're here hoping the problem is solved as soon as possible (like, today would be nice) so that there won't be future days whose loss we need to avoid. We literally can't know if it's worth asking for help with the future days (taking the time out of our lives to talk to CS on the phone) because we don't know how long this is going to go on. Sure, the option to ask for a freeze is better than nothing, but I'd rather be able to play again as soon as the problem is fixed, rather than needing to contact them again to unfreeze us at that stage.
  5. Yes, I agree, they are... I mean, I would consider not being able to play the game at all (as I just referenced myself) as more serious than not being able to play some of one's characters... but yes, there are plenty of serious bugs. It does appear that some of these bugs did not show up in PTS, maybe at all. Certainly I was able to play PTS without the particular issue showing up that's currently preventing me, and people with the same laptop as me, from playing the game. Yeah, I'm sure there does have to be a middle ground. As I said, I can't even play the game on my laptop currently, so tbh I'd love to be even able to experience those bugs, but I can't. I would like to think that content that did not make the PTS - due to trying to prevent story spoilers, or maybe just not being ready yet - would be more likely to have bugs show up when it goes live, vs. PTS'd stuff. Maybe that's why something like the bug you mentioned slipped through. But broadly, yeah, it's confusing.
  6. As the owner of a computer that has not been able to play the game for the past ten out of eleven days due to various bugs, I'm not exactly standing up to say that this game is bug-free. But saying that they didn't identify or fix bugs is a reach. Just because there are plenty left doesn't mean that none were fixed. Of course, we can argue that the expansion should've been further delayed to fix more. But I can't think of any game or major update that releases with zero bugs. There will always be some.
  7. Personally, I have come to the conclusion that the PTS is much more about bug testing than feedback. It's not that it's 0% about feedback. They do make some changes in response to feedback, sometimes. But it seems like, if feedback was the main point, there'd be a lot more changes. So I can only conclude it's mainly about identifying and fixing bugs.
  8. I think the combat style icons are helpful, to know at a glance what a character can do. But the class icons should be on the login page. They look way better and are more visually distinct.
  9. Nope, not fixed as yet. I emailed support to ask about getting the missed days added to my subscription, and they replied that I should phone them (numbers here). Hope this helps anyone looking to make progress on this! I hope they take you up on that! Back when I was testing 6.0 crafting, I tentatively offered myself too, to no avail. But you've been so helpful in this thread, they'd be mad to pass you up.
  10. Personally, yes. But I've been running Armory Crate since I got this laptop last year. This issue with SWTOR only popped up last week.
  11. I have no idea who is to blame. I'm not sure that blame is helpful. I also don't know if those of us commenting here are representative of the broader player-base. All that being said, a few redesigns of major systems in SWTOR - in my opinion, 6.0 crafting and 7.0 UI - have the feel of change for change's sake, rather than change to inspire and engage players.* With a huge helping of "sunk cost fallacy" on the side. When a redesign is so major that it takes a lot of work, there'll be a natural reluctance to revert to a previous system and "waste" all that time. (Even though, logically, we can recognise that time is already spent, no matter what you decide to do going forwards, the sunk cost fallacy remains a hugely common and understandable reaction.) So it's crucial from the get-go to have a strong sense that players will appreciate a particular large change, rather than being bewildered and frustrated by it. It often feels to me like these major changes come to the PTS without much willingness to hear feedback and do another broad redesign. PTS looks more like bug-testing rather than using the opportunity to see if players accept and enjoy the original redesign. The major decision, and much of the associated work, is already in the past by the time players have a chance to give feedback. This was my experience with 6.0 crafting. The devs did take on board critiques from players to a certain extent (though mainly after 6.0 was live, not so much during the PTS phase). They reduced the materials costs to a certain degree. But the main change we requested, that all basic components should only cost 2/2/2, was not implemented. And 6.0 crafting turned out largely as I expected. I did not craft for fun. Crafting was dominated by a minority with a huge amount of resources and market power. Looking back at the comments I made when 6.0 was in testing, it was clear what would happen if major changes weren't made. But BW had done all this work designing grade 11 crafting differently, and I think they (or at least someone there) could not face "wasting" that. I suspect the same may be true of the current UI redesign. *(For what it's worth, I think that the following are interesting changes that do inspire and engage players: adding a second combat style; adding weapons to the outfit designer; and letting non-grouped players share tagged enemies. If these couldn't be done without radically redesigning the UI - for whatever reason - then I'd have to accept that the UI was not changed for change's sake.)
  12. Launcher log: Client log: Just using Windows defender and standard Windows firewall (Windows 10). I've fully restarted my system several times between my various attempts to the play the game. If that's not what you mean by a clean boot, please let me know. I am using the website launcher, not Steam.
  13. Mine says "MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 MT7921 Wireless LAN Card."
  14. I do not recall ever having empty server issues previously, whether it was after sleep or not.
  15. An acknowledged bug, see this thread.
  16. As I understand it, there's supposed to be a social vendor on the fleet with all social items, all the way up to Social X.
  17. I could understand this better if the game hadn't worked fine on our machines until last week.
  18. Thanks for coming in and trying to help us Jackie. First I tried without applying the launch repair utility: empty server list. Then I tried after applying the utility: empty server list again.
  19. I'm not in the game yet because of the empty server list issue, so I can't tell you exactly. But my impression was that social rank was going to be under achievements now, that it's changed to being based on group finder achievements.
  20. Mckor you've provided so much useful info, both this time and during the previous bug. Thank you. I hope it helps them to fix this.
  21. Yeah, Jackie popped into multiple threads (currently four) to acknowledge the issue of people who can't get past the loading screen, but not one acknowledgment of the empty server list issue yet.
  22. Yeah, tbh I had no reason to think this was a launcher issue. But it's so weird that there should be two issues with ryzen so close to each other.
  23. Yeah, I tried that too, no luck. Worth a try though!
  24. G14 also. I am super-confused at this commonality. The previous Zephyrus issue was strictly launcher-only. Now we are getting past the launcher but the server list is empty. I am hesitant to assume that the dll can fix it this time, since we get past the launcher. Still, I can't help but wonder. Comparing the old dll, the "fix" dll, and the current dll, I see the old and current have different "last modified" dates but the same size (2,135kb). The "fix" dll has a different "last modified" date to both of them, and also a different file size (2,333kb).
  25. Same here, "unable to retrieve server list." Restarted the game, got the same thing again.
